Crack on, as you were, need a lie down and a bit of cosseting after the non stop thrill ride of the last thread. Just take it slow, ok?

I'm going to peel some potatoes and par boil them. I need a break from work and feel like being prepped for dinner will bring me some joy.

Champagneforeveryone · 18/09/2020 12:51

I have an appointment with my chiropractor later today.

Since I turned 40 I seem to be in a state of constant refurbishment Hmm

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 18/09/2020 12:59

Are chiropractors helpful?

DD decided on a different cake and is about to go shopping.

I couldn't honestly say TBH Confused

I'd been off work for 10 weeks with nerve issues and a possible prolapsed disc and saw a chiropractor in desperation. She's certainly managed to localise the pain and seems confident that once I'm "better" we can work on things that will hopefully prevent it happening again.

OTOH it's nearly £50 a pop and I'm not springing about like a new born lamb yet. I'm not a good patient and my frustration at still being incapacitated may well be colouring my viewpoint somewhat Wink

Champagneforeveryone · 18/09/2020 14:15

Actually, that was probably the least helpful reply I've ever written Grin

Squirrel26 · 18/09/2020 15:16

Really don’t need another coffee.
Going to have another coffee.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 18/09/2020 15:19

Champagne
It was helpful - as I do not know anybody who has first hand experience with one.
DD has almost constant back pain after an ice skating fall a number of years ago. I am trying to get her to see sb about it - but I do not know where to start. Now I'll probalby suggest (i. e. force her to make) an appointment with an orthopedist as a first call.

Spudlet · 18/09/2020 16:21

I’ve just oiled my bike chain. My Ray Mears-esque day continues 💪

It’s probably not very Ray Mears as Ray Mears would refine his own bike chain oil from leaves and berries that he had foraged himself, rather than buying it in a bike shop. Before using his bike to pedal across 4000 miles of frozen tundra as opposed to trundling a mile and a half (at most) to school and back. But still 💪

sueelleker · 18/09/2020 16:33

@Prokupatuscrakedatus I started going to a chiropractor after falling off a horse and damaging some ligaments in my lower back. I went weekly for a while, then gradually cut down and added in a monthly massage (proper deep massage, not just relaxation) I now see the chiro every 3 months, and keep up the monthly massages. It's helped a lot.

Tonightstheteriyakichicken · 18/09/2020 17:11

DH is washing my car, yaay!

soddingkitten · 18/09/2020 18:43

The news this morning was full of the tundra melting. Ray would have got stuck in a muddy hole and more fool him for taking a bike to Siberia!

We had Dominos pizza for tea. Initially DH was all po-faced by text and said he’d have a healthy dinner instead, but messaged me to say he’d changed his mind AFTER I’d placed the order. Hmm I topped up the empty pizza space with some hot buttered white toast topped with golden syrup. No prizes for nutrition here today, but I have awful period pain and I’m feeling sorry for myself. Golden syrup toast is better than paracetamol, true fact. Just because no one has done clinical trials to prove it doesn’t mean it is untrue.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 18/09/2020 18:44

Sue
Thank you, I've taken note and we'll see.

DD finished her cake and I just learned that it is a Hedeghog cake in English (Cold Dog in German). It's in the fridge waiting.

Helocariad · 18/09/2020 18:51

My daughter made pear tart tonight.

SunshineCake · 18/09/2020 19:06

@BillywigSting

I am gearing myself up to pick up some shopping for my isolating friend.

I also need to peg the laundry out, do last nights dishes (because dp didn't do them and was I fuck doing them after a 12 hour shift when only one plate is mine), phone work to make sure my hours for this week are correct because the clock in thing wasn't playing ball yesterday, dust, hoover, buy some bulbs for ds to plant in his new dinosaur plant pot, get some quotes for the bathroom and figure out what we're all having for tea.

I need a lie down just looking at that list!

I hope you left the dishes for your lazy partner!

I think an osteopath might be better.
SunshineCake · 18/09/2020 19:10

I know this is too exciting but I can't help it. My dog is snoring. So cute.

I have painted my nails and dyed my hair.

My washer has leaked again but dh knows what is wrong.

I'm please your syruped toast was good but you shouldn't have shared your pizza with Mr Po face. Let him learn a lesson.
Taswama · 18/09/2020 21:02

I bought a vegan sushi from a new van at our market for lunch. It was underwhelming.

DollyMixtureLulus · 18/09/2020 21:07

I've just bought a half price refurbished heated clothes dryer from the Lakeland Ebay outlet.

I have been promised great things.

ChocoLatte20 · 18/09/2020 21:08

My Tesco delivery arrived. I asked for no bags. He stood back while I bagged it. I suppose it it better for the environment. I made light conversation about how was his day, was it busy, I normally do this but really today I wanted to find out if people are starting to book up slots. He said he was much busier now than a couple of weeks ago. He went to one family and they had ordered 5 bags of toilet rolls. I will check online that I have enough slots booked. I have been contemplating a fruit and veg box but I like to pick the contents. I did find one called Pikt. Maybe I will give it a go.

After that I had tuna pasta. I made the pesto. It was quite easy and nice with the addition of chilli and garlic. It called for water to make it a creamy pesto which I thought odd but turned out ok.

cheeseychovolate · 18/09/2020 21:55

I have gout in my toe, hopefully medication will start to work soon.

Sunbird24 · 18/09/2020 22:18

My next door neighbour turned off his sub-woofers when I sent him a text 10 mins ago to ask if he could give me a bit less bass. I’m staying with my parents tomorrow so he can be as loud as he likes then!

QuestionableMouse · 18/09/2020 22:54

I have the ingredients for a cornflake tart coming in my shop tomorrow. Haven't had it for years and can't wait to make it. Having proper custard too.

wellerhugs5 · 18/09/2020 23:14

I had a bath the other night and shaved my legs using my Sanctuary Wet Skin moisturiser instead of my regular soap.
I never remember to put it on after the bath.
Which you are meant to do.

Rainingagaininseattle · 19/09/2020 00:24

I got a quote from a window cleaner today, he was half an hour late but very friendly.
