Crack on, as you were, need a lie down and a bit of cosseting after the non stop thrill ride of the last thread. Just take it slow, ok?

@boatyardblues do you mean the two buttons where you press the small one?

I'm starting to miss the days when you had to yank a chain or pull a handle. I remember as a child I visited dad at work and was told there was an unexploded grenade from WW2 underneath the loo. Nothing to worry about, apparently.

Didn't really make you feel very comfortable using it though.

See 30s YouTube link posted above. ^

@boatyardblues x post!

Sitting on my patio for an outdoor glass of wine after doing my nails and before veggie sausage sandwiches.

Starisnotanumber · 17/09/2020 19:02

Had a whole day without virtual meetings so wore my pj's until after lunch.

Lazysundayafternoons · 17/09/2020 19:07

Started work at 4.45 this morning to meet a big deadline. Now have 3 days off but am so tired.

FawnDrench · 17/09/2020 19:31

Had a "fascinating" conversation with DH earlier, about different types of internal doors.

Gave the dog some small pieces of mashed potato and he wolfed them down as if he'd never been fed, despite eating his tea 10 minutes earlier.

We will possibly run out of tea bags next week, but I plan to replenish our stock before that unthinkable occurrence becomes a reality.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 17/09/2020 19:43

Tonight at midnight our phonenumber is supposed to switch to another provider.

Frownette · 17/09/2020 19:47

Quite pleased as I managed to find a song I really wanted to listen to from an episode.

Nearly started a thread about it as I didn't want to rewatch the whole series again!

Sorry, I'll get back into my cage again.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 17/09/2020 20:51

Apprehensive that I'm starting another dental abscess - mentioning it here in the hope that it stays boring rather than dramatic.

FabulouslyFab · 17/09/2020 21:50

Was due to go into the office for the first time tomorrow but now I don’t have to and can work from home. 😁
Back in from Monday though, for two out of four days a week. 😟

Spudlet · 18/09/2020 08:07

Last day of DSs first week at school today. He is definitely finding having to go every day a bit of a shock to the system.... mind you, so am I. My legs feel incredibly weary from pedalling him there and back every day!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 18/09/2020 08:19

I've cut down empty card board boxes for the recycling bin. They are nice and flat now and I will take them down on my way to the hair dressers.
Haven't tested the phone number yet.

Frownette · 18/09/2020 08:58

I'm bracing myself to go the the cornershop. It was like an obstacle course yesterday as I went early and there were streams of cars, children, roadwork workers. I was hopping around trying to avoid it all.

Think coast is clear now so can trot off.

Also, why is my cornershop not on the corner? I live in a city and it takes me a while to walk there.

sueelleker · 18/09/2020 09:27

My 2 folding garden chairs are being picked up this morning. I advertised a set on Freecycle, but the person that took the table only wanted 2 chairs. So now I've found someone that wants the other 2. Bit more room in our shed now.

Just back from the drop-off. DH has taken ddog and has gone to work at FiL’s today (we’re bubbled) as FiL has been unwell for ages and likes the company. So I have the house to myself for the first time in months and months! It is very quiet and a bit strange.

I popped to the village shop on the way home for supplies (milk, bananas, a CBeebies magazine to celebrate DS’s first week and a pie for dinner - all the major food groups), then realised that I had too much stuff to fit into my bike basket, with DS’s helmet as well. So I bungeed the bananas onto DS’s tagalong handlebars. I felt very capable and Ray Mears-esque with this solution.

I now have to choose between a. Cleaning the kitchen/bomb site and bathroom/health hazard; b. Driving to Halfords to pick up a new bike light I ordered; or c. Sitting with my feet up, pissing about on the internet. Hmmmm....

Squirrel26 · 18/09/2020 09:49

I’ve fiddled with the audio settings on Teams. Feeling very pleased with my technological abilities.

FawnDrench · 18/09/2020 09:59

I have emptied the dishwasher.

I have installed iOS 14 on my phone.

I am already feeling accomplished and it's not even 10.00 yet.

BillywigSting · 18/09/2020 10:57

I am gearing myself up to pick up some shopping for my isolating friend.

I also need to peg the laundry out, do last nights dishes (because dp didn't do them and was I fuck doing them after a 12 hour shift when only one plate is mine), phone work to make sure my hours for this week are correct because the clock in thing wasn't playing ball yesterday, dust, hoover, buy some bulbs for ds to plant in his new dinosaur plant pot, get some quotes for the bathroom and figure out what we're all having for tea.

I need a lie down just looking at that list!

Lazysundayafternoons · 18/09/2020 11:19

I spent 3 hours this morning making up playmobil as its ds's birthday. Now sitting down for a peaceful cup of coffee.

Spudlet · 18/09/2020 11:23

I have emptied and reloaded the dishwasher, given the bathroom a whisk around, changed all the beds (tbf there are only 2) and put some washing on. Now I am brewing a coffee before it’s time to pick up DS, and mulling over making him a little handlebar bag for his bike.

The house is very quiet. It’s wonderful.

Lazysundayafternoons · 18/09/2020 11:27

Will have to put on jeans today for ds birthday (I've been living in leggings). I hope I can find some that fit me Blush

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 18/09/2020 12:04

I've finally made the apple chutney I've been putting off for weeks. Hooray, we can eat cheese again!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 18/09/2020 12:24

Just back home feeling relaxed.
DD wants to bake cake pops - alle the recipes she could find asked for 'left over cake'. She wondered what that is. I helped her to find other recipes.
It's a lovely slightly crisp day.
