Crack on, as you were, need a lie down and a bit of cosseting after the non stop thrill ride of the last thread. Just take it slow, ok?

@MilleniumHallsWalledGarden

What is the brown stuff? Looks like gravy.

I like hash browns in a bacon sarnie

BBQ sauce. Sounds weird but is really tasty.
CMOTDibbler · 17/09/2020 12:17

I have shingles and am feeling alternately full of rage and sorry for myself.

Weirdly, a sandwich with hash browns in sounds really nice to me.

QuestionableMouse · 17/09/2020 12:23

It probably would be if you were expecting them. Wasn't a pleasant surprise to find them there unexpectedly 😕😟

Spudlet · 17/09/2020 13:09

@sueelleker

Shelob has moved into our bike shed Grin (But at the same time, urghh-I hate spiders)
Me too! We get some absolute whoppers here (joys of country living), but this one deserved a prize... it can stay in the bike shed though cos I’d rather have it there than in the house Shock

Then to add insult to injury, there were dozens of wasps buzzing around right by the school gate when I went to collect DS and one took a shine to my high-vis and started chasing me Blush I got one stuck under my sunglasses earlier this year and it stung my eyelid so I’m really wary of them now (some might say downright wussy)...

So it’s been an invertebrate-heavy day so far. The bikes are now parked in the back yard because I refuse to go into that shed - DH will have to sort them later!

Squirrel26 · 17/09/2020 13:33

I should get a small amount of unexpected extra money when I get paid this month. I’m considering spending it on a carpet washer, and getting someone to come and clean the oven.

Squirrel26 · 17/09/2020 13:34

Can you also pay people to come and defrost your freezer? Asking for a friend.

Sofrano · 17/09/2020 13:43

I’d love to be a freezer defrosterer. You could pay me!

Squirrel26 · 17/09/2020 14:03

Gladly. How much do you need? I’ll come and pick you up and drive you home after. Would you clean the fridge as well? I’ll pay extra. (I don’t know why, I just HATE doing it.)

QuestionableMouse · 17/09/2020 14:19

Trying to convince myself to get in the shower. Once I'm in I'm fine but the whole palaver of getting in bores me and I cba right now.

Imissmoominmama · 17/09/2020 14:30

I had an exceptionally nice meal deal from Booths for lunch. I ate it on the park. The park near us is lovely.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 17/09/2020 14:44

I have itchy lumps as I've been bitten by an assortment of insects. Big, red splodges. If recent experience is anything to go by then the bites will still be healing 6 weeks later.

Taswama · 17/09/2020 15:07

I had some leftover salmon to use up at lunchtime. No mayonnaise in the house so I used tartare sauce instead and it was rather nice in a bap with some sliced cucumber.

WibbleBob · 17/09/2020 16:02

@Squirrel26

I’ll do the fridge too. As a one off I would do it for swaps. Will you answer my question?

I have the choice of thing a or thing b. Everyone else wants thing a. We’ve got thing a but have the option of b. We think it would be more fun and less frightening than a.

Tell me A or B and I’ll get my pinny and Marigolds on.

RUOKHon · 17/09/2020 16:03

My John Lewis order has been dispatched.

Squirrel26 · 17/09/2020 16:26

Hmm, @WibbleBob. So you have thing A already but have the option of changing it for Thing B. Have I got that right? And thing B is more fun and less fear? I think I would definitely go for thing B.

(What are things A and B?? A moped and a fancy motorbike? A giant wolf and a fluffy puppy? A home made swing made of a stick and some string and a solid wood playground set?)

MutteringDarkly · 17/09/2020 16:31

DC's school trousers have finally arrived. I bought myself some self-pity flowers as I've got DC's cold. Ugh.

boatyardblues · 17/09/2020 16:47

DH and I were home-working today. We ate up last night’s cassoulet with jacket potatoes for our lunch, so have had our main meal. The kids still need feeding and there’s beef mince with an eat by date of today. I should make a chili but my dinner cooking mojo has departed. I wish I had something trashy in the freezer I could fling in the oven for the kids, but I will have to use the mince. Sigh.

WibbleBob · 17/09/2020 16:48

@Squirrel26 that was a name change fail which is rather too exiting an event fit this thread.
We have Thing A, let’s say a mansion in Belgravia but could give it up for Thing B, let’s say a rambling beach house.
Anyhow. Let me know and in the meantime I’ll get my coat on.

Squirrel26 · 17/09/2020 16:53

Hmm. B. Everyone likes the beach! Grin

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 17/09/2020 17:13

We've changed broadband provider.

This is the 2nd day that Parcelforce has failed to deliver the router that we need. Our previous service is turned off and we can't access the present one. We're reduced to using mobile data but that will cause a riot in the house when someone wants to watch a streaming service tonight. It's been struggling with 3 people who've pretty much had back-to-back Zooms/Teams.

Cavagirl · 17/09/2020 17:34

The soft close feature of my toilet seat has suddenly stopped working. This gave me quite the fright earlier when it slammed shut.

boatyardblues · 17/09/2020 18:10

The soft close feature on our loo has given up on life. It half closes but doesn’t see the job through, hovering between open and close in a state of perpetual indecision.

Frownette · 17/09/2020 18:17

Soft close...? Never heard of that.

Our lidseat has however come off. You're always supposed to put lidseat down when you flush so not much I can do about it til it's mended. Use other bathroom I guess.

Actually what is proper terminology for this? Loo seat and loo lid? So loo lid has come off.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 17/09/2020 18:20

it went from very warm to cool and windy - so I have a migraine. Luckily tomorrow is massage day - well actually first hair dresser for a cut and then physio.
My hibiscus as not lost any of its buds yet.
