Crack on, as you were, need a lie down and a bit of cosseting after the non stop thrill ride of the last thread. Just take it slow, ok?

My frozen French beans are all rubbery, and I've spent ages on a Guardian recipe for them.

FawnDrench · 15/09/2020 19:11

I don't think cooking apples are as tarty / tangy as they used to be.

I think I might do some baking tomorrow, but then again I might not.

Our wisteria is going to be vigorously pruned tomorrow.

SpeedofaSloth · 15/09/2020 19:28

Just helped DS with some maths revision.

SpeedofaSloth · 15/09/2020 19:29

I need a wee but I don't want to go to the loo because it's cold in there.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 15/09/2020 19:41

I, too, think about baking - it's ages since I had a proper unfilled Streuselkuchen (what's this in English?). The shop bought variety always has cream or cocos in it.

powkin · 15/09/2020 19:49

I’m too hot and bloated as fuck. Period and humidity - DH can barely contain his excitement Hmm

Researched some fitted sheets for DDs cotbed. Going to use my Quidco cashback to buy them (fucking hell this is exciting - might be banned from the thread at this rate). She’s grown out of her cot due to being massive (she obviously still fits but think she wakes herself up bashing into the sides) so we got a cheap cotbed on eBay. The fancy Little Green Sheep mattress arrived today (we only paid £60 for an almost new cot so thought we’d get a good mattress).

Packaged up the books I sold on webuybooks. Had to make 2 boxes out of one big box as it was too heavy by about 2kg. Took fucking forever and after I’d done it DH said “why didn’t you just do X” and of course I could’ve saved myself 30 minutes at least. What a twat.

QuestionableMouse · 15/09/2020 19:54

I'm on my break at work and can't remember if I clocked out. I know when I'm due back so it'll be okay.

It's so humid I couldn't wait to wash my face and get a cold drink.

Frownette · 15/09/2020 19:59

@QuestionableMouse yeah horrible sticky feeling, I'm using a lot of crushed ice at present in tall drinks.

Then it can be quite cold first thing in the morning so it's the reverse.

Squirrel26 · 15/09/2020 20:14

I've changed the bed linen. I don't often do it on a weekday, but I did today.

Lazysundayafternoons · 15/09/2020 20:40

I just accidentally closed a file that was 95% open that takes an age to open Sad had to start again

Frownette · 15/09/2020 20:44

I'm going to watch a program in a sec?

I have so much dull and unexciting news it's difficult to know what to pick first.

MutteringDarkly · 15/09/2020 21:49

DD has a cold. She has filled an entire carrier bag with her tissues today.

QuestionableMouse · 16/09/2020 00:35

Ugh yeah it's been horrible. Finally rained a bit but still sticky. I've showered and feel gross again. 😔

Susannahmoody · 16/09/2020 01:35

I dropped off 4 boxes of clothes at the charity shop.

Had Spag bol for dinner.

Put heating on for the first time since around April.

Bought myself a lovely shirt from H&M.

Susannahmoody · 16/09/2020 01:41

In other news, veg is really cheap at the moment - tomorrow I plan on making a massive veggie curry with loads of squash, cabbage, onions, chick peas. DH will be farting like an AK-47.

BillywigSting · 16/09/2020 07:51

My sciatica has eased off just enough that I can put a pair of socks on without tears pricking my eyes, just in time for the rain.

Ds fell over at lunchtime in school yesterday and has grazed his temple and scratched his glasses so I'll have to take them to specsavers today. Thankfully he has a spare pair.

I need to get a move and make his lunch and get showered and dressed so he's not late. I am still incapable of moving at any great pace even with painkillers.

I have no idea how I'm going to manage in work tomorrow.

NotanotherboxofFrogs · 16/09/2020 09:09

I'm having a lie in this morning, read that as arsing about on my phone in bed. Going to have a shower soon.

Kittens were neutered yesterday so keeping in large pen today as they are both trying to climb things in the 5 minutes they were out of the pen but don't want to get stitches burst so will make them rest for a couple of days. Mean cat mummy

Spudlet · 16/09/2020 09:28

I should be going for a run, but patently am not running, but am sitting here Mumsnetting in all my running kit. This will not do.

BillywigSting · 16/09/2020 09:57

The codeine I have taken has made me feel very sleepy and I really want to take a nap but I too much boring drudgery to do Hmm

monkeyonthetable · 16/09/2020 10:30

I found the blouse I've been looking for for a few days. It was clean but crumpled in the bottom of the wash basket. It is the only one that feels good in this humid weather. I didn't iron it but put it on anyway. It as already uncreased from body heat. Rock and roll.

MutteringDarkly · 16/09/2020 10:30

I have been for a flu jab. This now involves 6 people:

  1. person at the gate with forehead thermometer
  2. person outside door to book me in
  3. person just inside door to helpfully point at the hand sanitiser
  4. person about 5 metres further on to point at the arrows on the floor
  5. nurse to give the flu jab
  6. person in the corridor to point at the one-way arrows to get out.

I dread to think what they're going to do when someone slips over on the floor arrows, because they are laminated pieces of A4 so as soon as it's wet outside, that's going to be fun ... and who will they have left to do the First Aid?!

monkeyonthetable · 16/09/2020 10:31

Wow, @MutteringDarkly, that sounds a bit 1984. I don't think I'll bother. I prefer to snort my bodyweight in First Defence.

MutteringDarkly · 16/09/2020 10:33

It was interesting! I have the jab because I have Pre-Existing-Stuff going on that means it helps. I suppose none of them were in actual hazmat suits Grin

OverTheRubicon · 16/09/2020 10:34

I just discovered a half-used pack of post it notes in the back of the drawer, right after I thought I'd run out.

Squirrel26 · 16/09/2020 11:22

I was doing something at work, then someone interrupted me and now I’ve lost my concentration.
