Crack on, as you were, need a lie down and a bit of cosseting after the non stop thrill ride of the last thread. Just take it slow, ok?

I've just had a bloody lovely sausage and egg barm for breakfast. Sausages from the butcher left over from last nights dinner, all fried in butter. I'm going to finish my cup of tea, unload the washing machine when it's finished and then go and buy a new mop because my floors are pretty grim and my mop has just broken.

I'll mop said minging floors and iron my uniforms when I get back.

The excitement is almost too much to bear.

Spudlet · 11/09/2020 11:01

Did my interview. No idea if it went well or not. No way to read body language over zoom, really... but at least I did it and I didn’t dry right up too much. God I hate interviews!

userxx · 11/09/2020 12:14

then go and buy a new mop

Dont buy the vileda spinny thing, I used it twice before it broke.

lborgia · 11/09/2020 12:18

Fingers crossed @Spudlet - sounds a pretty good outcome to me! When will you know?

I have the worst heartburn, and I’ve no idea why. Have come to bed to work and keep warm, and dog is in the way.

CMOTDibbler · 11/09/2020 12:21

Our spinny mop is lasting OK so far, and the bonus is that ds loves spinning it so is keen to do the mopping

I am puppy proofing as I have two small fosters arriving this afternoon. Aforesaid mop will be getting a very thorough workout over the next weeks till they find homes or toilet train

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 11/09/2020 12:22

DD’s are back at school - I maybe slightly excited about this.

Jackets and Chilli for dinner.

Going to DM’s tomorrow.

Ddog is sulking because the DD’s have left him.... again.

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 11/09/2020 13:08

It's end of the first week back at school for my dc. It's gone well, and they seem really happy to be back with their mates. Just collected my dogs from the groomers, they're all lovely and sleek for the tine being Smile

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 11/09/2020 13:24

I got my boots repaired - they are good for at least 10 more years and I bought myself a winter parka-coat in green made from recycled material. That's my autumn shopping done.

DS came home from school with a 'finaly weekend' air until I mentioned the genetics of insuline again. I am mean
Smile

Purplecatshopaholic · 11/09/2020 13:28

Bought some new nail varnish. Put it on. Good times.

FawnDrench · 11/09/2020 13:35

Had some Rice Krispies and lovely freezing cold full fat milk earlier.

We are going out later.

Then we will return home.

FunnysInLaJardin · 11/09/2020 13:41

Thankfully today is better than yesterday, still a bit tired though.

Burger and chips for dinner, will cook the burgers on the bbq

MutteringDarkly · 11/09/2020 14:15

This may be too exciting, so best sit down first...I seem to be able to order milk by telepathy. Yesterday I meant to order an extra pint for today, but totally forgot. Woke up this morning and on the doorstep was an extra pint Shock (checked my order and it didn't have any changes, so it's not early dementia).

I consider myself blessed by the milk gods. What should I try the telepathy on next? Is the lottery aiming too high do you think?

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 11/09/2020 14:32

You might as well aim high, who knows when it'll stop working.

Spudlet · 11/09/2020 14:45

@lborgia Thanks! Not sure when I’ll hear. I’m expecting an email with a written exercise of some kind this afternoon at some point so currently trying to stop myself looking for it every two minutes... they didn’t say what time to expect it so who knows when it might arrive Confused

Champagneforeveryone · 11/09/2020 15:05

I've been to work and now I'm home.

DS confessed that he had forgotten DH's birthday tomorrow and asked me to get him a card on the way home. I was suitably disapproving that he had forgotten until today, but neglected to tell him that I had also forgotten.

BillywigSting · 11/09/2020 15:37

I got an asda own spray mop because it was a fiver less than the vileda one and on close inspection was identical in almost every way except the colour. The broken mop was a hideous cheap orange spray mop, but the heads match the new one.

Dp wanted one that needs a bucket. I am far too lazy for that nonsense.

Have now mopped with of the orchid floor cleaner and it smells lovely.

TrumpsAKnobHeadWazzok · 11/09/2020 16:16

I repotted my favourite houseplant and realised its gone from a pot too small to a 'why the fuck did I think this pot was suitable' big pot and don't know where to put it!

The blurb said it can grow to 2.5-3m tall. Where will I put it then?

Plants!

NoHunGosh · 11/09/2020 16:33

Drinking beer waiting for SIL to pick up DS (6). His first sleepover and he's not
due home until Monday evening. DS is ridiculously excited but not as much as I am - planning a weekend of sex, sushi, and sleep with DH and then the bliss of a childfree day all to myself on Monday (schools here aren't back until the middle of next week and I've had him all fucking day every fucking day since schools closed on the 21st of February).

Spudlet · 11/09/2020 17:20

DS is absolutely streaming with cold. Only the occasional cough though and no temperature, thank goodness. Just metric tonnes of snot. Lovely.

Frantically crossing everything that he doesn’t develop a cough, because we won’t be able to book a test... I had a look just in case, and there’s nothing. Angry

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 11/09/2020 17:30

The chairs arrived. I unpacked them downstairs and cut the cartons to size for the reccycling bin. Then we carried the parts upstairs.

I have been down and up those stairs 4 times today - this must count as excercise.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 11/09/2020 18:03

I have a single fleck of of sauce on my shirt. Tsk. In other news, I did two loads of washing, made meatball spaghetti and shortly I shall continue sitting in front of Elite Dangerous, grinding across the inner Orion Spur.

Spudlet · 11/09/2020 18:07

@DisgraceToTheYChromosome Ooh, I have a couple of friends who play that! I don’t think my little laptop would cope with it though, so I stick to consoles and a 20 year old emulated game on my laptop. I’m playing AC Odyssey at the moment so I might do a bit of that later. M

Sitting in a car park at the moment, waiting for DH to return with pizza. Nom

BillywigSting · 11/09/2020 18:24

I am also waiting for pizza but mine will be a long while as we'll order it after ds goes to bed.

He doesn't like pizza heathen so he had spaghetti and meatballs before.

Am hungry now though, that sausage and egg barm feels like a very long time ago.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 11/09/2020 18:37

I made curry yesterday that just needs to be heated up, and since it's Friday I bought not just any naan, but peshwari naan to go with it.

soddingkitten · 11/09/2020 18:50

DS confessed that he had forgotten DH's birthday tomorrow and asked me to get him a card on the way home. I was suitably disapproving that he had forgotten until today, but neglected to tell him that I had also forgotten.

😂

DH came down this morning to find Sodding Kitten had disappeared. 😮 Turns out we forgot to lock the new cat flap last night and, by some miracle, he’d (finally) worked out how to get out. DH said he was sitting under the bench near the back door looking sorry for himself. He’s very affectionate today.

We had Dominos pizza for dinner. The kids had their usual pepperoni pizza. DH and I had the beef burger one, which looks all kinds of wrong on paper but works. 🤷🏼‍♀️
