Asking for a handhold - DH in ICU

DH was taken into hospital last night with breathing difficulties. It was pretty minor, the paramedics weren't even going to take him in but we insisted. He's now in an induced coma on a ventilator. He's had 2 negative Covid tests so they don't think it's that but they don't know what it is.

I'm falling apart. He's my whole life. We have a 2 year old who is a complete Daddy's girl. I need him so much. I can't even be with him now because of COVID.

Thank you all for your kind messages. I don't know what else to say really. The pain is unbearable and it hasn't even really hit me yet. I don't know how I'll go on. He was such a special beautiful, loving person. I adored him. I always will.

He will live on in your heart, in your memories and in your daughter @peachgreen

It will be no consolation for now, but I am so glad he was so wonderful, that you had the love of such a special man.

@Nightmanagerfan I was upbeat because we were told he would be okay and because I got him home. That doesn't mean this isn't real. I'm so sorry if that's not what you were insinuating but I know this was posted on Reddit as a possible troll thread. I can assure you it's real and there are 50+ posters from my Mumsnet antenatal group who know who I am in real life and some of whom have met me who can validate that.

@peachgreen I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what it must feel like.

Grief is exhausting and all-encompassing but I hope you can find little moments of solace throughout the day to give your poor heart and head a few minutes peace.

I hope your little girl can help give you the impetus to get through the coming days and weeks. She will undoubtedly bring you so much joy, hold on to that.

Please ignore any troll hunters, don't even give it a moment's headspace and definitely don't feel that you need to explain or justify yourself. Please posting if you find it in any way helpful, so many people are here and will (virtually) hold your hand if and when you need it.

Nothing will be the same again but I truly believe there's a full and happy life ahead for you and your daughter.

Know that you're held in many people's thoughts and that we're sending love and strength. ❤️
