Do you like it? I haven’t got one and have always felt slightly deprived!

Olga!

EasilyDelighted · 29/08/2020 20:18

I hate mine and never use it. Got teased about it at school, it's an old lady name and was totally out of place in the 1970s.

toomuchtimes · 29/08/2020 20:18

Louise. DD1 now has it too.

homemadecommunistrussia · 29/08/2020 20:19

Olga de Polga is amazing Grin

greytminds · 29/08/2020 20:20

Jane. Like many many others born in the early 80s!

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 29/08/2020 20:21

I have two middle names - Marie and Bernadette. Needless to say, my family is Roman Catholic Grin.

x2boys · 29/08/2020 20:22

@MondeoFan ,Jane or Anne? I was a seventies baby and practically every girl I knew had Jane or Anne as a middle name 😂

ButterflyRuns · 29/08/2020 20:22

I have two, one is my mother's name & the other is Beatrice, born 1981.

x2boys · 29/08/2020 20:24

Funny how names come in and out of fashion ,a friend mine had Iris as middle name ( after a Grandmother ) she hated it but it's not such a bad name now!

MissCalamity · 29/08/2020 20:25

Another Louise here 🙋‍♀️

LajesticVantrashell · 29/08/2020 20:25

Jayne. The Y makes me dead exotic.

SockQueen · 29/08/2020 20:25

Elizabeth, like half of all girls born in the 80s it seems. Also my mum's name. Quite like it, though as it's so common it's nothing exciting.

Splellow · 29/08/2020 20:26

My dd has two middle names, maybe to make up for my lack of one. Both my brothers have middle names, although one is for a sad reason - my mother’s own brother died suddenly and unexpectedly very young when she was pregnant with my brother so he got his first name as a middle name.

Mine is a run of the mill one. Be cautious putting middle names online, especially linking it to a grandparent. That could be one of your banking security questions!

x2boys · 29/08/2020 20:28

A friend of mine is adopted and her middle name is also her biological sisters middle name ( I think it was deliberate ) my friend also gave the same middle name to her oldest daughter which I thought was quite sweet .

OnceBitten25 · 29/08/2020 20:28

My middle name is Isabella - hated it when I was younger but love it now.

missyB1 · 29/08/2020 20:28

I used to hate mine, now I love it and wish it was my first name! It’s Kathleen.

seething1234 · 29/08/2020 20:28

Helen after my granny. I like it. In some medical records/social records it's down as Ellen. With my kids I used fun names that were a bit out there

ClinkyMonkey · 29/08/2020 20:28

None here. Not for me or my sister. But my brother, well, for some reason he got one. Girls, apparently, don't need them. Not sure why boys do in particular, but hey ho.

My children don't have them as their surname is double barrelled, with a fair few syllables, so it was getting ridiculous!

ThatDamnScientist · 29/08/2020 20:29

I have one, I hate it almost as much as I hate my first name (started going by a shortened version a couple of years ago and it feels so much nicer!)

CoffeeandKitKat · 29/08/2020 20:30

Helen after my mum, I don't think about it much but it's nice that it's my mum's name. My brother has our dads name as a middle. DS has dh's name as a middle name.

Neither of my parents have a middle name.

TwelvetyOClock · 29/08/2020 20:31

I'll take your Marie Bernadette and raise you Constantina Therese as middle names. And they say there's no leaving the Catholic church Grin
RollaCola84 · 29/08/2020 20:31

Like about 75% percentage of the girls in my primary school class I'm a Louise (mid 80s....)

I agree with pp that they're a bit pointless unless it's a family name. Mine's a random choice but going up a generation in my family we did the Irish Catholic thing of lots of family names.

Crunchymum · 29/08/2020 20:32

Jane, no connection to anyone. Very boring. Child of the early 80's.

TheCanyon · 29/08/2020 20:35

Mine is clare. Not fussed about it but it's just so normal compared to my first name. My dbs middle name is schenker though so I feel somewhat thankful Grin
