Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news THE SEQUEL

This is the one where the news remains dull, and all the irons you bought in the last thread have developed limescale.

I had a slice of toast and now I feel a bit sick. It must be because I am low carbing. The toast was worth it though,it was slightly cold and hard so the butter went on the way it used to in a 1990s B&B.

I ordered a wheelbarrow. It came today.

I decluttered and cleaned the windowsill in the kitchen. I should probably have done it years ago.

WitchenKitch · 27/08/2020 21:31

I also love this thread, although I am worried about the hectic, breakneck pace of some posters' lives.
One thing at a time is my motto.

Today I am dithering about buying a new electric toothbrush.

EyeSeeWhatYouDidThere · 27/08/2020 21:33

My car passed it's MOT today.

PettyLittleThings · 27/08/2020 21:43

I haven't run my Eufy round today. Have I fallen out of love?

Spudlet · 27/08/2020 22:02

@PersisFord Our dishwasher was on the blink. We bought a bottle of dishwasher cleaner from Tesco and it sorted it right out.

TheySeeHerRowling · 27/08/2020 22:03

I bought a new autumn handbag

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 27/08/2020 22:07

I've looked at a slide remote control. It can magnify and highlight.

I'm thinking of buying one to make it easier to handle online presentations given the arthritis in my hands.

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 27/08/2020 22:13

I've stuck name labels on all DS's new school uniform.

Morfin · 27/08/2020 22:15

Today I thought about autumn cleaning the kitchen, and thought about autumn cleaning my bedroom.

Flibbitygibbit · 27/08/2020 22:16

My son melted a tesco bag on my halogen hob today. I used the pink stuff in it.

lborgia · 27/08/2020 22:21

I am now imagining Meredith Ewing a Greggs/Greg's pasty. I think she would've been happier.

I've just woken up on my 50th birthday.

It's now 7.20am and DH has decided he might as well crack on with starting his work day, so has gone in the office.

I do have a cup of tea though, and it's a beautiful cold and sunny day.

After my tea, I'll peg out the washing.

lborgia · 27/08/2020 22:22

Ewing? Eating.

BillywigSting · 27/08/2020 22:27

I have been in work for 12 hours doing mandatory training. It was intensely boring. It's also still not finished.

I had a microwave jacket potato for dinner and it was surprisingly nice.

Thecurtainsofdestiny · 27/08/2020 22:30

A man came to fix the oven. He could not fix it. We need an electrician.

I brushed my teeth.

My phone wanted to write " we need an elephant " instead of electrician.

I conclude that I must use the word elephant more than the word electrician.

I finished my cup of tea and I am still thirsty.

longtompot · 27/08/2020 22:37

I've just realised it's bank holiday on Monday!

Littlefiendsusan · 27/08/2020 22:45

I've just scraped off the stuck salmon skin on a baking tray, popped it in a Tupperware and will give it to the dog for breakfast tomorrow.

FunnysInLaJardin · 27/08/2020 22:49

I've been watching Money Heist and am now eating cheese and biscuits while waiting for the local news and weather.

We might play badminton as a family tomorrow if the sports centre allows.

Its supposed to rain again otherwise we would have gone to the beach

Happy birthday! I am 50 in 5 months....Shock
TakingTheLowRoad · 27/08/2020 23:23

I went to Ikea this morning with my husband but the queue was too long...I weighed up the length of it against the amount of moaning he was gearing up to do and immediately turned the car around. Going again in the morning but with DS17 instead who does not suffer from ikea rage an is handy when packing the car and is happy to be paid in hotdogs.

midlifecrash · 27/08/2020 23:37

I think you can make pesto without parmesan.

I also think that light blue sounds nice for a shed.

That's my tuppence worth.

The cat was happily purring on my lap. Then she decided it would be nice to flop all over the kitchen table. She was not happy to be reminded that she is not allowed on the table.

She forgave me when I changed the bedclothes, which she finds fascinating

TawnyPippit · 27/08/2020 23:54

I am currently bleaching my moustache!

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 28/08/2020 00:15

we'll all be lucky to achieve a mild frisson at all this talk of fridges and facemasks

Shock steady on, OP!

Overseasmom100 · 28/08/2020 00:28

Im going to Telford this weekend...

lborgia · 28/08/2020 01:15

Is Telford one of those "new" garden cities from the 1950s? I'm trying to work out why it's in my head next to "Come friendly bombs, and fall on Slough"?

Never been but have some built in antipathy, which is slightly mortifying. Blush.

@FunnysInLaJardin - thank you. My sole wish for you is that your birthday is interesting enough that you do not feel able to mention it in this thread!! Wine

BreconBeBuggered · 28/08/2020 04:38

It's a new town, more blessed with roundabouts than gardens. It's very dull indeed.
