Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news THE SEQUEL

This is the one where the news remains dull, and all the irons you bought in the last thread have developed limescale.

I had a slice of toast and now I feel a bit sick. It must be because I am low carbing. The toast was worth it though,it was slightly cold and hard so the butter went on the way it used to in a 1990s B&B.

I ordered a wheelbarrow. It came today.

@Spudlet best of luck!

Dress nicely from head to toe - you won't be subconsciously worrying about them seeing your PJ's or whatever 😂 plus if you need to move about for any reason you're set.

BillywigSting · 04/09/2020 18:22

Good luck spudlet!

I have just finished hanging both a new concertina door for the cupboard under the stairs, and the laundry.

I really want takeaway for tea but can't really afford it atm (my pay has been messed about with and dp was made redundant a couple of weeks ago)

Lazysundayafternoons · 04/09/2020 18:32

I didnt buy anything for dinner so pizza delivery is on the way

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/09/2020 18:36

We had Köfte and bread for our evening meal and DH mused about trying surströmming. I said not in our flat - over my dead body.
Then I read him tales about fermented fish from wikipedia.

I am watching kittens on YouTube.

boatyardblues · 04/09/2020 19:26

Got a new top from the Hobbs sale, hoping it will look ok. It’s a zoom interview.

If you’re on Zoom, you can be in your joggers and slippers, so long as you don’t stand up while you are still on camera. 👍

Taswama · 04/09/2020 19:32

Absolutely starving. I think my homemade couscous salad for lunch had too much veg in it and not enough couscous or protein.

boatyardblues · 04/09/2020 19:36

We just had the special pasta that my friend brought us back from Italy as a thank you for feeding her cat. If I’d known it would take 20 mins on a fast boil to get it to the al dente stage, I would have started it off before everything else. 😩

I ordered too much food in my online shop, anticipating weekend family visitors who have now cried off due to illness. Getting everything into the fridge took major Tetris skills. Lots of it is short dated and there is no room in our freezer. 🤔

Spudlet · 04/09/2020 19:36

I should be safe as DH will be taking DS out for the morning while I’m out. So I shouldn’t have to get up to deal with anything. But I think I’ll do a full outfit, just to get me into the zone! I still have smart skirts from my pre-SAHM days, it’s my tops that have been mostly trashed.

I wonder if the job will still be remote if I get it (big if!) or whether I’ll need to go office clothes shopping?

Helocariad · 04/09/2020 19:49

Full outfit for the zoom interview sounds wise. It reminds me of actors in costume dramas who are dressed in period costume down to their underwear, although no-one will see that, because it helps them get into character. Grin

RobinlovesCormoran · 04/09/2020 19:53

I used Microsoft Teams for the first time yesterday. It was very straightforward.

LemonDrizzles · 04/09/2020 20:33

First time buying school uniform. Shorts and trousers too large. Missed both used sales. Going to pick up some in person hopefully soon

Redcrayons · 04/09/2020 20:40

@RobinlovesCormoran my first time today. It’s very easy to use. I gave myself a fuzzy background and couldn’t work out how to change. DS (16), fixed it for me.

Lazysundayafternoons · 04/09/2020 20:46

Just as I was about to log off from work today, I got an email to say I'm having an interview (for an internal promotion on Tueaday), now I'm going to spend the weekend worrying about it Confused

Lazysundayafternoons · 04/09/2020 20:49

@Spudlet same here with a video interview next week, am really dreading it incase of a technology failure or something like that. I also need to get something smart to wear.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/09/2020 21:11

Got the link to DS's school fotos (they go on the school ID, public transport card, there are group fotos etc.) usually there is always one to give to DGM. This time he neither washed his hair nor shaved.... sigh!!

Frownette · 04/09/2020 21:19

Like the licence to be dull and unexciting.

My main news this evening was that I had someone trampling on my bed fixing my curtains. His wife was lovely and offered me some clothes. Don't think they'd fit me. But afterwards realised I have a silk knit wrap dress which would fit her. It doesn't suit me.

mathanxiety · 04/09/2020 21:32

What you need is wind chimes, Frownette. That way, your neighbour can always be reminded of you.

Todaywewilldobetter · 04/09/2020 22:10

I've got an insect bite on the back of my thigh. It's itchy. I'm trying not to scratch it.

FunnysInLaJardin · 04/09/2020 22:48

I've just bought 2 pub style sheets of scampi fries and bacon fries.

When they arrive I will put them next to the dart board in the playroom and pretend we are at the pub

lol Grin there is no plot, its just random mutterings
monkeyonthetable · 04/09/2020 22:54

My knee is slightly swollen and feels very bruised. There is no cause for this afaik.
DS2 has been playing the same guitar riff for about 45 mins.

BuddhaAtSea · 04/09/2020 23:02

Bought another candle bridge arch for the windows. In December, when I come home from work, in the dark, it’ll greet me, comes on on a timer. Plus the dog will have something else to stare at.
I need to wash the car.
