Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news THE SEQUEL

This is the one where the news remains dull, and all the irons you bought in the last thread have developed limescale.

I had a slice of toast and now I feel a bit sick. It must be because I am low carbing. The toast was worth it though,it was slightly cold and hard so the butter went on the way it used to in a 1990s B&B.

I ordered a wheelbarrow. It came today.

I am off to sit in my mum's flat to wait for a man to come and look at her bathroom door. Appointment time is 8 am - 6 pm Hmm I'm assuming there's no chance at all that he's actually going to do anything on the first visit about the fact that the door won't shut - if he does, that will be far too exciting for this thread and I promise I won't mention it!

Asked the DC if they wanted eggs for breakfast this morning. One wanted scrambled and the other hard boiled. Now off to try and buy pinafores and grey tights for DD before school starts on Monday.

Living my best life here.

WouldBeGood · 04/09/2020 09:14

I made myself a bagel and egg but now DS has upped the game by making himself a bagel abd egg but with melted cheese.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/09/2020 09:27

DS's schedule for his last year of school arrived - planned deadlines, exam dates etc.
He will be out of school on the 18.06.2021. He is AS, university is - at the moment - a no go. I have to find out about preparational measures for him.
I think I'll go for a walk.

Yeah, 0-1 to son.

I got told last night I was too quiet. I don't know what he expected me to do, break into bawdy renditions of music hall songs and start tap dancing around the place.

This was from a neighbour. He complained that he never hears me. He's lucky then, isn't he?

SunshineCake · 04/09/2020 10:57

My two year old cat has been playing with a cream carton.

I need to sort dog's toy box.

Dd is going away uni checking for the weekend .

LadyofMisrule · 04/09/2020 11:08

I think I may do soup for lunch.

MaosChaos · 04/09/2020 11:27

The cat doesn't like his new food.

BillywigSting · 04/09/2020 11:44

Dp is painting the very yellowed radiators.

I'm not sure if they look better or worse, they're a bit erm, drippy Confused

littlecatfeet · 04/09/2020 12:11

I'm just holding out for Saturday right now. Not that I have plans beyond sorting laundry.
A small boy is planning to camp out in the sitting room tonight.

Frownette · 04/09/2020 12:27

I don't have anything on for 2 hours so am going to have a catnap.

BillywigSting · 04/09/2020 13:15

I've ordered a new filter for my hoover.

I cba to clean it and it has all the suction power of a very elderly asthmatic.

cheeseychovolate · 04/09/2020 13:24

Just waiting for the washing machine to finish and then I'll peg it out. I know how to live life on the edge 😂

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 04/09/2020 13:25

I forgot that I had already had breakfast, so I said yes to my husband when he offered me a bacon sandwich. Now I have used up most of my lunch calories, and I'm wondering whether to go for a walk to literally buy myself some lunch.

FunnysInLaJardin · 04/09/2020 13:26

One of our budgies wasn't in her cage last night. We think she has flown out of the bathroom window....

sproutsandparsnips · 04/09/2020 14:14

I can report that there has, today, been an actual cat among the pigeons. The pigeons escaped with the loss of some tail feathers and a ginger cat was sharply reprimanded by me through the window.

My hoover is still making an unpleasantly loud noise and I am summoning up the wherewithal to do something about it.

FawnDrench · 04/09/2020 14:57

The petite black cat that usually visits our garden has made a loud, flamboyant and "well would you just look at me" reappearance this morning, after ignoring us for about 10 days.

However the dog is not impressed at all with this turn of events, and showed his disapproval by barking furiously and trying to leap through the window to have words.

I think they're in love really, but in denial about their feelings at the same time.

QuestionableMouse · 04/09/2020 15:07

My electric is off and I've got washing stuck in the washer. No idea when it's due back on. Says 16:00 on the website but last time this happened it was off overnight.

I'm at work in the morning and my uniform is stuck in the washing machine along with a load of water.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/09/2020 16:10

Can you drain the water by the emeergency outlet to get at your uniform?

Spudlet · 04/09/2020 16:26

I don’t know if this is too much for this thread, but I’ve got a job interview next week! It must be a good ten years since I last had one. I’m quietly bricking it 😬

Got a new top from the Hobbs sale, hoping it will look ok. It’s a zoom interview.

Eek!

longtompot · 04/09/2020 16:39

I've just bought a ceramic owl lamp base (Next) from fb marketplace for £5. Dh just went to see a client and I managed to nip out and buy it from the previous owner in the local park. I have put it the place of another lamp without telling anyone. I wonder how long before someone notices?

longtompot · 04/09/2020 16:40

@Spudlet good luck with your interview!

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 04/09/2020 17:16

I’ve just sent DH out to buy ice cream.

QuestionableMouse · 04/09/2020 17:48

Power has been restored. Washing machine is running again. I will have clean uniform for tomorrow 😂🤔

I normally don't put it all in one wash (just in case this happens!) but I didn't have any other washing and it needed doing.

FeatherLoverGod · 04/09/2020 17:49

My neck is killing me
