This is the one where the news remains dull, and all the irons you bought in the last thread have developed limescale.

I had a slice of toast and now I feel a bit sick. It must be because I am low carbing. The toast was worth it though,it was slightly cold and hard so the butter went on the way it used to in a 1990s B&B.

I ordered a wheelbarrow. It came today.

I've been re-elected parent representative of DS's year group (one of four).
DD's uni friends are getting cats (rescue mother and kitten) next week, we demanded fotos and videos.

I need a comfortable warm coat with pockets - enough pockets! I will be excited when I find one.

QuestionableMouse

Ha ha! I did warn you! I remember when my mum made a cake that was not good. Even the birds rejected it!

I like all the seasons but am feeling really good about Autumn. The colour of the leaves and oh! the food! Crumble crumble crumble! I had one at a friend's house and all I can think of is steamed puds and crumble! There is only me so I rarely cook/make puds, plus being diabetic type 2, not a good idea but still....

Deathraystare · 03/09/2020 15:38

Whilst cooking a few days ago , decided to add more salt. Looked in the cupboard where I thought I had put it back. No sign. Not on kitchen top. It was in the fridge! Of course it was!

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 03/09/2020 15:42

We have a touch lamp in our bedroom, it’s on DH side of the bed because of the plug. DH moves so much in his sleep and throws his arms around that he continually turns the lamp on and off. Spent a ridiculously longtime this morning discussing how to solve the problem - I unplugged it as was our first thought, no need for the 45min discussion Grin.

The DC are tired from being back at school - as we told them they would be.

QuestionableMouse · 03/09/2020 15:42

I've done that 😂😂😂

Currently debating if I should make brownies to make up for the cake disappointment. I have bread in the own.

TiddyTid · 03/09/2020 15:51

Drove down the a12 to Harlow

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 03/09/2020 15:57

I remembered to out the recycling bin out last night. It was a day later because of the bank holiday. I sent the last of my change of address letters today, so feel very efficient. Cottage pie for dinner, with green beans - can't wait.

MutteringDarkly · 03/09/2020 16:30

A new candle has been delivered - smells amazing although it has its work cut out to live up to the promise to "restore" me (I'd need a team from the Repair Shop to undo lockdown damage...) It's geranium, cedar, eucalyptus and lavender.

soberfabulous · 03/09/2020 16:41

I've just eaten a bounty.

MargaretHooper · 03/09/2020 16:47

Going on the train on Saturday (first time since March). Got myself two new masks for the journey.

WriteHon · 03/09/2020 16:47

I am having my house painted today.

I challenge anyone to suggest that there is anything exciting about the colour Magnolia.

Furthermore, I am convinced you will all agree that it is in fact the epitome of dullness.

Blingismything · 03/09/2020 16:54

Just off to peel some potatoes for dinner (Maris Pipers) will have sausages mash and beans tonight. Received a Hillier's Gardening Club voucher in the post today.

QuestionableMouse · 03/09/2020 17:16

I've just had fish fingers sandwiches for tea. Lovely.

Really need to shift myself and go in the shower. I've been putting it off all day because I cba to deal with wet hair.

BettyFilous · 03/09/2020 17:33

DH told me earlier that our local tip isn’t a tip anymore. It’s a recycling centre. We need to empty the loft. We’re going to have to hire a skip.

SpeedofaSloth · 03/09/2020 18:46

We are having KFC for tea because I lost the family vote.

SpeedofaSloth · 03/09/2020 18:48

I have a new Craghoppers Mhairi, it is not glamorous but has good pockets and feels like wearing a duvet. I am ready for footy season.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 03/09/2020 19:00

@SpeedofaSloth

I just googled them - I need to get a kindle / tablet type of thing into the pockets, a book, the usual wallet, key, mobile stuff and perhaps a coffee cup?

TheClitterati · 03/09/2020 19:25

this is my favourite thread

Helocariad · 03/09/2020 19:26

I also had potatoes for tea, though not maris pipers but venetias, with hamburgers and courgettes. Not sure whether to go for a Wine 🤔 or a Brew now.

emilybrontescorsett · 03/09/2020 19:31

I have tried mint Maltesers buttons for the first time today. Reminded me of After Rights which are the Kings of the mint chocolates in my opinion.
Anyway, I'm not keen on the Maltesers buttons although I love traditional Malteasers.

user1494055864 · 03/09/2020 19:32

My neighbours have put their brown bin out in preparation for the Friday bin collection, although they have forgotten about the Bank holiday, and the bin men aren't coming until Saturday.
I expect they will feel a bit embarrassed when they realise.

SallySeven · 03/09/2020 19:36

I have started doling out the vitamin d tablets this morning.
My friend gave me some cooking apples off her tree.
I'm thinking of sorting out my bags of clothes to get warmer stuff out.

Basically I'm getting into autumn mode!

Sumsandlou1419 · 03/09/2020 19:40

I got tooth ache and tried to book an appointment. The triage nurse is going to call at 8am tomorrow.
I hate the school run.
I have loads of washing up, said I would do it almost two hours ago but I've been scrolling on fb and mumsnet and bathing my eldest. I also have pored a a glass of wine but it was cheap and taste like sh*t...cup of tea it is then!

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 03/09/2020 19:58

@soberfabulous I now really want a bounty!

CMOTDibbler · 03/09/2020 20:08

I went swimming at the lake. It was rather chilly and I am sitting here in a fleece onsie, dryrobe, bobble hat and merino socks trying to warm up before I shower.

The youngest chicken is having her first night in the big girl coop as her mum is fed up of being in the broody coop with her.
