Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news THE SEQUEL

This is the one where the news remains dull, and all the irons you bought in the last thread have developed limescale.

I had a slice of toast and now I feel a bit sick. It must be because I am low carbing. The toast was worth it though,it was slightly cold and hard so the butter went on the way it used to in a 1990s B&B.

I ordered a wheelbarrow. It came today.

Good Lord.

When the various men cycle down this hill, they're going to be at Sea Level.

When will this whirlwind of excitement ever end?

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 30/08/2020 16:07

DBIL sent a picture of the cheesecake he just made - I am not excited - he is ca. 4 h by train away so no chance...

MitziK · 30/08/2020 16:32

The Amazon man is four stops away.

And there's somebody with a blue and white lycra thing in front of the other cyclists now.

DP is inundated with snoring cats as he snores on the sofa.

Everybody will wake up when Amazon man gets here.

WouldBeGood · 30/08/2020 16:46

Just done a meditation.

Must hang washing up but tiny dog snoozing on me.

forgetthehousework · 30/08/2020 17:04

I am trying to justify (to myself) spending money on fabric I don't really need - but it's so lovely I want it.
And, just in case that is too exciting, I need to go and peel potatoes for tea.

Jemimatheragdoll · 30/08/2020 17:34

We're half an hour from home after a 4hr round trip-can't tell you why as far too exciting for this thread

Am reading mn on my phone but starting to feel a little travel sick now 🤢

nevernotstruggling · 30/08/2020 17:38

I mended the upright Dyson vacuum cleaner that lives at the caravan even though dsis was convinced it has died. If I'd been more confident in my repair skills I could have saved myself the detour to lostwithiel to fetch the other surplus Dyson from dm storage locker.

I've bought oven brite for the caravan oven. It will be the first caravan oven deep clean. I can't wait!

QuestionableMouse · 30/08/2020 17:39

Thinking about ordering some food in. I have stuff in but I really fancy some pizza which is the one thing I don't have.

twinguineas · 30/08/2020 17:40

We were meant to have crispy baked kale with dinner but I gave the kale to the guinea pigs this morning when they heard me opening the fridge. The DCs are trying hard to pretend that they are disappointed at the lack of kale with dinner Grin

soddingkitten · 30/08/2020 17:46

I bought some of the posh pouches recommended for my fussy kitten in The Litter Tray. He is even less bothered about the posh food than he is about the cheap supermarket pouches. 🤷

We finished up the coloured loo roll (substitution) delivered in our last shop this morning. We are back to white loo roll and everything is right with the world.

Morfin · 30/08/2020 17:52
@Morfin - Three spoonsful is about right.

I was hopeful with the first, in denial at the second and silently swearing on the third.
It put me right off the lovely french stick that accompanied the soup pizza sauce.

DH, when he came home, confirmed that he had finished the lovely soup the day before.
I would suggest this was a ltb offence, however that would be far too exciting so you should look disapprovingly from a distance.

MitziK · 30/08/2020 17:55

Somebody finished the cycle ride a little bit ahead of somebody else. He was either happy or cross, as he shook his fist when the next cyclist went past him.

There's a football match from 1973 on TV now. I've decided to trim the daggety bits from the fluffy DTwatCat's arse.

And my Amazon parcel came. It's a light for when it's dark. Especially in winter.

I think we're having sweet potatoes, potatoes and cabbage for dinner. I assume there is some form of meat coming as well. But not much of it.

I hope there's gravy.

CindersCatsSister · 30/08/2020 18:01

I might have a can of Diet Coke in a bit.

QuestionableMouse · 30/08/2020 18:12

I've ordered Domino's for tea. The pizza tracker seems be to stuck on the prep bit.

PenguinsOnParade · 30/08/2020 18:15

There's an ice cream van outside but I don't have money in the house. I had to pause the TV because the music from the van was so loud I couldn't hear it.

Trailing1 · 30/08/2020 18:17

The paracetamol I took two hours ago has done sweet fuck all to help this bastard headache.

Lazysundayafternoons · 30/08/2020 18:18

I got a 4 pack of cookies from the Tesco bakery. I ate them all in the car on my way home and now feel really ill Sad

Ginsmything · 30/08/2020 18:26

I am awaiting my roast chicken dinner to be ready but DH is on gravy duty as I made an arse of it last week and I am the one that has high gravy standards.

FabulouslyFab · 30/08/2020 18:30

I made a mask today, just to see if I could.

nancybotwinbloom · 30/08/2020 18:31

@PenguinsOnParade

Do you live in my road? Out ice cream van is fucking horrific aswell.

Today I got a Covid swab and I find out tomorrow if I have it.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 30/08/2020 18:37

I had to put the dishwasher on after lunch, and it's still too hot to empty.

I've also got my leather boots out and re-polished them, but can't bring myself to wear them while it's still August, even though it's quite cold.

SunshineCake · 30/08/2020 18:40

@RoseMartha

I have had to buy more reusable face masks. The kids have lost a couple and not even back at school yet and some just disappear in the wash like socks have a habit of doing.
I wash ours in my underwear bag.
PeskyRooks · 30/08/2020 18:40

Ds just made butterscotch angel delight!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 30/08/2020 18:48

It's still raining - I went down to the bins (bio, paper, yellow and grey) 104 steps down and up. I got slightly wet.

You could probably be 5 streets away and still hear ours tbh. I swear he purposely waits until he's right outside our house before turning the music on as well, it's awful with the windows closed but over the summer with open windows I nearly shat myself every single time.

Good luck for your test results being negative.
