This is the one where the news remains dull, and all the irons you bought in the last thread have developed limescale.

I had a slice of toast and now I feel a bit sick. It must be because I am low carbing. The toast was worth it though,it was slightly cold and hard so the butter went on the way it used to in a 1990s B&B.

I ordered a wheelbarrow. It came today.

I had 11hrs of sleep last night - for me it’s a nightmare, I have insomnia and every so often I just crash and can sleep for 24/48hrs. The 11hrs sleep signals that I’m ‘crashing’ and I feel utterly exhausted. My mums coming for lunch today so I can’t go back to bed.

My DH has gone all Kim and Aggy because my mums coming (he gets like this when we have any guests).

I have the fire on because we’re all cold.

firecracker69 · 30/08/2020 11:58

I had a lie in today.... until 9:41 pm.... that never happens.

AuntieDolly · 30/08/2020 11:59

I've pulled my back 😣

PenguinsOnParade · 30/08/2020 12:31

Had a migraine start just before 12 but my meds for it worked really quickly today because I caught it early.

rosegoldwatcher · 30/08/2020 12:37

We are minding the BeeGees (Bonus Granddaughters.)

They have been playing Shoe Shops in my bedroom. This involves getting my, numerous, boxed high-heels from the wardrobe and trying them all on. (Cue hours of tidying them away later, by me, of course.)

DH has just taken them to the park.
I am having wine.

FunnysInLaJardin · 30/08/2020 12:39

We are probably going to do the weekly shop today in preparation for the start of term next week, rather than on Tuesday as planned.

I will read a bit more of The Testaments later which is very good as anticipated.

That is an impressive lie-in!
BoreOfWhabylon · 30/08/2020 12:50

I've had an exhausting morning listening to Radio 4 so I'm off for a little lie down now.

happinessischocolate · 30/08/2020 12:51

I'm going to get off my arse and go and mow the lawn, I've been putting it off for 3 months days and it's time to do it, it'll probably be the only last time I do it this year so I really need to get off my arse...

Okay I'm going, I'm going .....

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 30/08/2020 13:34

I finished the forms, they are pdfed, printed, enveloped and will be posted tomorrow morning.
I feel virtuous and organized.

MitziK · 30/08/2020 13:55

Apparently, it's a bit nippy today.

I know this because there is a tubby git DTwatCat who passive-aggressively glared at me until DP moved his foot from where it was resting against me on the sofa so DTC could push his amply insulated backside against my hip and thigh to steal my heat.

My knee is at a funny angle so I don't slide off the crappy sofa, DTC is simultaneously using my foot as a headrest and I'm beginning to lose all feeling in my right foot.

I think I might ask DP to make me a cup of tea.

QuestionableMouse · 30/08/2020 14:20

I'm so excited. I've just bought the best thing ever and it was such a bargain.

I paid £16 (including delivery) rather than £160 for this gorgeous coat. I can't wait for it to arrive. www.landsend.co.uk/Womens_Wool_Blend_Peacoat_/pp/P_38070.html?cgid=11299&dwvar_P__38070_color=%20SCM

QuestionableMouse · 30/08/2020 14:22

@EggyPegg

I have just cancelled my razor delivery subscription after the handle broke and reading the reviews tells me that it's a common problem, not a one off.
Which subscription was this? I've been looking at a couple but putting it off.
Allington · 30/08/2020 14:32

I have made £35 in a month from on line surveys. I am hoping to get most of the cost of a new washing machine by Christmas.

EggyPegg · 30/08/2020 14:38

@QuestionableMouse

I went with ukdollarstore initially. Initial razor useage was good, but they do seem to be 'tugging' more recently. It's been getting harder to change the blades and this week the little push lever snapped off. I went on to their website to ask them to send me a replacement (I'm not buying one, I've only had it six months, I shouldn't need to pay to replace it if it's not for for purpose). Afterwards I was reading the general reviews, not the featured ones, the low to high ones and it showed that this isn't a one off, this is a problem that dates back several years. So I decided to cancel and thought I'd try some else. Seen Harry's advertised so going to research them now.

I love that! Went to look but none in my size sadly. They have some lovely coats at great prices though so I'm browsing away now. Smile

RoseMartha · 30/08/2020 14:43

I have had to buy more reusable face masks. The kids have lost a couple and not even back at school yet and some just disappear in the wash like socks have a habit of doing.

InsaneProbably · 30/08/2020 14:50

The runny honey has crystallized in its squeezy bottle, and I can't squeeze any out, despite soaking it in warm water.

The set honey is all runny in its glass jar, and impossible to spoon out without dropping sticky honey droplets everywhere.

Somehow these two problems should cancel each other out, but they do not.

rosegoldwatcher · 30/08/2020 14:54

@InsaneProbably - microwave the unfortunately set honey - 10 seconds to begin with.

MitziK · 30/08/2020 14:56

Oh, here's something simply thrilling.

A bloke in white and red lycra has just cycled past a bloke in red and white lycra and one bloke is even wearing lycra with a white and red polka dot pattern on it. But he's got black shorts on. so he's being very exciting.

And they're on a road. With trees. It looks quite sunny.

MitziK · 30/08/2020 14:59

Oh, newflash.

There's one bloke with brown shorts and a white, brown and light blue lycra top on a bike. He doesn't have any friends with him and he doesn't look as though he's enjoying his bike ride in the sunshine.

Maybe he's lonely?

MutteringDarkly · 30/08/2020 15:10

This is not exciting but it's half-sad! Went for a walk with DD and passed a playground. Haven't been past one since lockdown as was avoiding the heavy sighs about them being closed / the throngs of released children. This one was empty. DD made a beeline for the swings and I waited for the inevitable "push me"...and it didn't come she is now self-sufficient on swings. Which is of course bloody brilliant, but I wasn't ready!

Thanks. I've been looking at FFS which looks good quality.

Badgerling · 30/08/2020 15:21

I went to see family with DD today, it went about how I was expecting.

We’re now home and snuggled up because it’s a bit chilly

White and red polka dot lycra is far too much excitement for me. I am going to snooze sit quietly with a cup of peppermint tea.
