Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news THE SEQUEL

This is the one where the news remains dull, and all the irons you bought in the last thread have developed limescale.

I had a slice of toast and now I feel a bit sick. It must be because I am low carbing. The toast was worth it though,it was slightly cold and hard so the butter went on the way it used to in a 1990s B&B.

I ordered a wheelbarrow. It came today.

I was hoping post last on the previous thread but @Redshoeblueshoe beat me to it.

I've just had an Orange club biscuit and thoroughly enjoyed it, but the size of the bar has definitely shrunk big time over the years.

I still feel compelled to post 3 separate update "paragraphs" on these threads.

ladybee28 · 28/08/2020 13:22

@Byallmeans which one did you go with in the end?

SpeedofaSloth · 28/08/2020 13:24

DS had a haircut then we went to the sweet shop nearby. He chose fudge, I had chocolate gingers.

Lazysundayafternoons · 28/08/2020 13:35

I am pdf'ing work emails

forgetthehousework · 28/08/2020 13:38

I have been writing lists.
This comforts me.

Prettybluepigeons · 28/08/2020 13:40

I've just got a new pencil case for work. I've put my new sharpie in it and am quietly thrilled.

marriednotdead · 28/08/2020 13:47

The painter has finished the porch. I'm waiting to hear when the scaffolders will come back. It's been up 6 weeks so I'm not optimistic.

BarbiesWorld · 28/08/2020 13:49

I nearly had a heart attach buying DDs first school shoes from clarks. We got shoes and boots and now I'm poor 😂

SunshineCake · 28/08/2020 13:52

My husband has just rung and told me he found a slug on the kitchen floor wearing salt which had made it explode.

I am sorry if this is too exciting.

So happy to find part 2!

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 28/08/2020 13:53

It’s absolutely pissing down with rain but I still went out to check on my tomatoes - they’re still green.

DD2’s new rain coat arrived for school next week - I wrote her name (after a discussion about weather it should be name or initials) in it for her. I had a small cry about the DC going back to school next week, I’m going to miss them.

Spoke to mum, she’s coming to mine on Sunday - we usually go to hers will be nice for a change. We’re going to have a roast, probably lamb.

Fridaychat · 28/08/2020 13:53

I've just put my new comfy joggers on and I'm having a cup of tea. Ironically I won't be going jogging Smile

Oldraver · 28/08/2020 13:58

Mt toilet has finally been fixed after a few years and now fills properly without haviung to use a bucket (to flush, not to piss in)

I am silly excited about it

PersisFord · 28/08/2020 14:35

I hope this isn’t too exciting....but I am doing a pyrolytic (sp?) clean on my filthy oven.

My phone autocorrected sp? to so? which reminded me of perfume in my youth

marriednotdead · 28/08/2020 14:48

I've run out of the Sainsbury's coconut oil loo roll. Back to Asda's version which I had before and is WAY better!
I got ragey when I realised how disappointing the Sainsbury's one was by comparison so I'm very happy in a contented sigh kinda way.

firecracker69 · 28/08/2020 15:00

@SunshineCake "My husband has just rung and told me he found a slug on the kitchen floor wearing salt which had made it explode."

That's far too exciting. It made me almost piss my pants. 😆

LivingForPinkGin · 28/08/2020 15:34

Love this thread, so happy its back.

I am about to finish work for the long weekend. May get the train into town to get ds some new clothes for nursery.

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 28/08/2020 15:34

Now this is exciting - DH has changed the bed, I’m just waiting for the towels to dry and then I’m going to have a shower, clean pyjamas and clean bedding = heavenly

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 28/08/2020 15:50

Back from my GP as my UTI symptoms wouldn't go away with home remedies, got ABs and was told to go to bed - where I am now.

PenguinsOnParade · 28/08/2020 15:59

I'm almost out of milk and it'll be a few hours until DH is home from work (via the supermarket) so I've put a bottle of bubbly in the fridge in case I run out and need something else to drink before he gets home.

Or is that still too exciting? I don't think I'm very good at this. Grin

Spudlet · 28/08/2020 16:11

Got DS’s school shoes and plimsolls. And out of school shoes as the ones he was wearing were a whole size and two width fittings too small 😳 Thank goodness they were having a sale at the shoe shop!

Until he needs a thick winter coat, the school shopping is now complete. We haven’t received everything we ordered because the suppliers have been COVID-ed, but as there’s sweet FA I can do about that, I’m not going to worry about it. We’ll just have to manage with what we’ve got until the stuff arrives.

His little school shoes look massive... my heart 💔

Hellomoonstar · 28/08/2020 16:13

I’m coming down with something. The beauty of being diabetic and getting real high sugar before actually getting other symptoms. What will it be? Fever, stomach ache, ear infection? Who knows?

cravingthelook · 28/08/2020 16:28

3 bikinis were delivered yesterday - 2 fit well

amusedbush · 28/08/2020 16:31

I just bought my first steam mop. It does laminate, carpet and it turns into a handheld steam cleaner for hobs, shower screens, etc.

I'll give it a go tomorrow.

PurBal · 28/08/2020 16:36

I bought a moth trap. Only used balls before so this will be interesting.

CMOTDibbler · 28/08/2020 16:39

I've just deep cleaned the bathroom. I hate cleaning, and should be on holiday this week, but at least it's done
