What is the most unusual street or road name you have seen? If you live on a street with an unusual name do people comment on it?

"Chemistry" in Whitchurch (Cheshire) is a favourite of mine!

Piddle Lane Dorset.

In Maidstone, there’s an area called a Bearsted. The markings on the roads abbreviate it to Bear. Makes me smile every time.

Under Minnow Road in Barnstaple, Devon

Where I live we have a Hornyold Road and in the next town over there's a Minge Lane!

In Hove, there’s a block of retirement housing on St Peters Close Shock

Rayna37 · 25/08/2020 20:34

Promised Land Lane near to me!

pinkmagic1 · 25/08/2020 20:34

Labour in Vain Drove in Lincolnshire and Dogger Lane in Wells Next the Sea. Also 'The Land of Nod' which is strictly a hamlet, rather than a street but a fantastic name.

EllieQ · 25/08/2020 20:39

In York there’s a Thief Lane and a Bad Bargain Lane Grin

BalanceGreen · 25/08/2020 20:44

Nowhere Lane

MrsHamlet · 25/08/2020 20:46

There used to be a Gropecunt lane in London. Streets were often named for their business.

That's Cropredy isn't it - ha, used to drive through there and lived in another village further over. Had early evening drinks at the... Red Lion ?? There used to be a little shop on the canal bridge.

When walking in the Brecon's I always snigger when I see Lord Hereford's Knob rising up above all else.

There’s a Glenn Close near Eastbourne- made me lol when I saw it

Mandalalorianna · 25/08/2020 20:54

Anything with a Bottom in it makes me snigger, because I'm really 5 inside my head!

Tempusfudgeit · 25/08/2020 20:55

Tinker Bottom Lane in Derbyshire!

Blingismything · 25/08/2020 20:57

Jeffrey's Passage in Guildford

user159 · 25/08/2020 21:01

Sluts Hole Lane - stumbled across it whilst on holiday in Norfolk a few years ago!

AfternoonTeaWithChampagne · 25/08/2020 21:02

I have friends who live on "The Knob"

Imissmoominmama · 25/08/2020 21:07

There’s a Bashful Alley and a Slip In Lane, close to one another, in Lancaster.

IaltagDhubh · 25/08/2020 21:10

Crotch Crescent and Toot Hill Butts in Oxford always make me snigger. I’m fairly sure there is a place in the New Forest called Slap and nearby (presumably at the bottom of the hill) is Slap Bottom.

fantasmasgoria1 · 25/08/2020 21:14
