My DH was a civilian radio engineer working on a radio relay station. He spent most of the week at Episkopi, but did one or two days a week at the Akrotiri site. It was a wonderful three years!

MaMisled · 24/08/2020 13:51

Laleham.......quite nice, yes?

Kittykatmacbill · 24/08/2020 14:28

Both of mine would be home but we moved between so technical dd1- Belleview and dd2 - Newtown, more interestingly she could be DH’s birthday as an alternate.

tarheelbaby · 24/08/2020 14:37

I tried for Azores and Alaska but ended up with Bedroom and Premier Inn, Bromsgrove.

DH and I nearly had a surprise. That would have been Homewood Suites Raleigh-Durham but due to the timing would have had Valentine as a middle name.

EsmereldaMargaretNoteSpelling · 24/08/2020 15:03

Hitch for ds1 and Hanbury for ds2. Not the worst names I've ever heard!

Gingaaarghpussy · 24/08/2020 15:32

Proseccoagain how long ago was that? I was born in 1972 and we came back when the Turkish invaded.

TheHoIeInTheDoughnut · 24/08/2020 15:35

Eden

middle name Boro

FanSpamTastic · 24/08/2020 18:34

I'd have Barcelona, London and Milton Keynes!

Delatron · 24/08/2020 18:40

Brittany (ferry)!

TheoneandObi · 24/08/2020 19:05

Alaska (Anchorage to be precise), and Twickenham.
Actually Alaska would have been quite a nice name. If he had been a she.

Twizbe · 24/08/2020 19:10

Not quite a place but a time. Eurovision would have featured for both mine

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 24/08/2020 20:08

DD would be little Maida Vale. Though we could have got away with Paddington if she’d been very hairy.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 24/08/2020 20:16

Never mind my DC, I would have been called Staines.

Proseccoagain · 24/08/2020 20:44

Gingaaarghpussy early 80s.

sheepysheep · 25/08/2020 00:48

Airing cupboard - just got the keys to a new house and the curtains weren’t up. I suppose we could’ve called him Cubby?!
