Just that really, I would like it to be in a nice area as well.
Is it even possible?

Definitely possible. I'm in the North East in Sunderland. Gorgeous coastline, countryside/Northumberland within a short-drive and Newcastle as a cultural hub. Loads of National Trust and English Heritage attractions. If you prefer new builds, something like this might fit your requirements: www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-78015937.html

I, personally, prefer character. This property is in a very affluent part of the city within walking distance to outstanding schooling, parks and the city centre.

Of course it's possible, pretty much anywhere except the south of England.

Town? Rural? Hills? Flat fields? Sea?

Also modern or old?

MaidofKent78 · 22/08/2020 17:57

Hull.

Don't knock it. We lived there for 18 months and had a blast.

ImFree2doasiwant · 22/08/2020 17:58

Norfolk. Loads of places. What do you mean by decent, and nice?

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 22/08/2020 17:58

Lots of places in the North East, just seen a 5 bed near Redcar for 175 although whether you would call it a nice area depends I suppose.

SidesteppinTheRona · 22/08/2020 17:58

Lincolnshire. Very reasonable house prices here.

NotMeNoNo · 22/08/2020 18:01

There are over 1000 3 bedroom houses in Nottinghamshire under 2k. What do you mean by nice? MN naice with Waitrose and grammar schools or just a normal middling area? Do you need employment?

FaffingForEngland · 22/08/2020 18:01

Derbyshire. For example in and near Matlock.

Definitely the north east - look around durham / Chester-le-Street. Near to the coast, country and city.

South West.

South Yorkshire. Loads of lovely places close to the M1. (And some less lovely). Mostly the areas just to the West of the M1. Penistone, Hoylandswaine, Thurgoland.

I live in Hoyland, which is considered 'less nice' but there are some really nice bits with fantastic views over open countryside.
