Just that really, I would like it to be in a nice area as well.
Is it even possible?

Suffolk: I found Woodbridge (lovely area, good high school), Ipswich, Thetford (just over the border in Norfolk) and a number of market towns and villages.

The north east is getting more crowded by the minute once people realised just how nice it was. 😂
Not all Andy Capps and Flo
Although I’m sure you’ll find a few without having to look too hard.

Oldham. And you're not allowed to socialise with anyone so you'll save loads of money!

I live in one of the most expensive areas in Leeds and my house cost a wee bit more than that and has three huge bedrooms - it had four when we bought it but we've since turned the second largest into a luxury spa bathroom. Our house is a terrace, mind, and has a nice brick paved yard with room for a big outdoor dining table and lots of pot plants but no garden as such.

My rental that I own is probably only worth about £130k , it’s a lovely area , always has been nice, big garden to rear, small garden to front. On drive parking for two cars with garage, It’s a semi, 3 Good size beds , one family bathroom, Large lounge and good sized dining room next to good sized kitchen
Large town on ne coast.
My mums was similar except ex council house terrace but had two bathrooms..only got £56k for it.
Still it was an inheritance so not complaining, but someone got a fabulously family house in again a lovely neighbourhood .

My son pays less than £420 a month to a housing association, for a new to them 4 bed extra large semi. Massive bedrooms, huge lounge. Big kitchen diner , two bathrooms. SOlar panels on roof, Big garden . No garage but off road parking.
Take that house to London and I bet it’s worth £500k

We are well blessed where we live.

Mansfield, you could buy on the Quarry on the fringe of Berry Hill, New build estate with a small centre that has a bistro, wine bar, hair & beauty salon, coffee shop plus general goods store & bakery. Lovely houses, quiet, 10 minutes drive to sherwood forest, Rufford Park, 20 minutes to Nottingham, 10 minutes to either junction 29 or 30 M1, McArthur Glen shopping village. You may even be able to get up to a 4 bed detached if you look around. I have rented on there & we paid £600 a month for a 4 bed, 4 storey townhouse.

This is Winnington in Cheshire. The estate is lovely and this house backs on to an old railway line with a path down to the river.

South Yorkshire. Loads of lovely places close to the M1. (And some less lovely). Mostly the areas just to the West of the M1. Penistone, Hoylandswaine, Thurgoland.

I live in Hoyland, which is considered 'less nice' but there are some really nice bits with fantastic views over open countryside.

These areas, and the HD8 postcode just over into West Yorkshire

North Staffordshire.
We are selling my late FiL’s house. Massive 3 bedroom semi, countryside views, close to town, big garden, lots of parking room. It’s being advertised at £130k as it needs modernising, if it was perfect it would be £160k+
Our house in the same village is slightly smaller (still 3 beds) but has a garage, conservatory and new kitchen would be £145kish.
DD lives just over the border in Cheshire and 3 beds are £180-£200k . She is looking for 4 bedrooms now and they are £230-£300k.

You really can't buy a 3 bed house in Leigh on Sea for 200k, you would get a 2 bed flat though.

The south is not one place. There is a huge difference between the southeast and south west for example, Anywhere away from large cities or tourist hotspots, or particularly flashy neighbourhoods.
