Just that really, I would like it to be in a nice area as well.
Is it even possible?

You can easily where I live in the outskirts of Nottingham. Not sure I'd describe my town as "nice" though, it's fine for me but it's not very pretty or picturesque.

Sheffield. In a decent enough area.

Durham.
😂😂😂😂

North east/North Yorkshire. You can be in close proximity to both the Pennines as well as A1 for easy access to Newcastle/Durham etc and train from Darlington to kings cross takes about 2.5 hrs.

Charleyhorses · 22/08/2020 18:20

In about 70 percent of the country I would imagine.

Why the laughing, @skyliner001?

Lightsabre · 22/08/2020 18:23

Leigh on Sea near Southend? Buzzing, seaside, commutable to London.

I think they may think it's some kind of joke Shock Anyone would think you'd said Barnard Castle! That was a pretty decent sized place in Newton Hall for the money

Durham is expensive for decent property in decent area
nameychange · 22/08/2020 18:23

Sheffield

what other criteria do you have? Garden, off road parking terrace/semi/detached, number of reception rooms?

Shitfuckoh · 22/08/2020 18:25

@Skyliner001 Newton Hall is a decent area and @PickAChew provided a link for a pretty decent sized property. Obviously places like Stanley, Ferryhill etc are to be avoided in the main but there's lots of decent properties in decent areas surrounding Durham that don't need to cost the earth. Obviously property right in the centre of Durham is expensive as most has been converted to student housing but it's still possible!

missmouse101 · 22/08/2020 18:25

Bromyard, Herefordshire

PickAChew · 22/08/2020 18:27

Yeah, it's expensive in the city centre and safe Durham Johnston catchment but pity me, Newton Hall, Framwellgate Moor, Belmont and even high Grange are all more affordable and safe.

Lightsabre · 22/08/2020 18:28

Or the Medway towns? Strood, Chatham etc

AgeLikeWine · 22/08/2020 18:33

Almost anywhere outside the South-East.

In my part of the country, the East Midlands, there are literally thousands of houses currently on the market for £200k or less. They won’t be in the nicest market towns, or the most upmarket suburbs or the prettiest villages, but they are widely available.

theriverrunsdeep · 22/08/2020 18:34

How much space do you want?

Even the South East of England is possible...
