Any new Eufy Robovac parents out there?

A couple of weeks ago there was a flurry of recommendations for the Eufy RoboVac on a couple of threads.
Several posters declared they would be buying one. I was one of them.
I wondered how other new owners were getting on. We are delighted with ours.
To start with it did not seem like a time saver, but this was because we were so fascinated with its purposeful scurrying that we just sat and watched it.
Now it gets going via the app every morning at 6.30 and does three rooms plus many yards of hall carpet.
It is truly amazing how much it picks up. After four days on the same route it still fills up each time. It seems to be mainly picking up dust, but where does it keep coming from?
Just two complaints: the small pieces of adhesive paper supplied is not very sticky. You use those if you want to create a barrier. When you interrupt its routine to tell it to go back to its base it won’t go straight there but rather indignantly insists on going via the pretty route.

Otherwise great!
Anyone else?

One month in now and I couldn't imagine life (or my carpets and floors) without Guffy. We love him.
To all those expectant owners, you'll love yours too.

(Does anyone else chat to theirs? When he trundles into the office while I'm working, I always stop and ask him how he's doing and how his day is going. I also say Thank you...Blush)

DobbyTheHouseElk · 14/09/2020 21:31

I talk to mine. Was chatting to him about the sunshine not being a cliff edge and he was ok and I’d close the curtains for him.

DH shouted upstairs to me that I needed to close the curtains, so had obviously been listening to me chatting to Eufy. BlushBlush

I love mine too. He’s helpful and does as he’s told so he’s basically my favourite family member. He’s been a complete game changer. Not having to hoover daily myself has freed up more time and energy for other cleaning jobs so everywhere is in a better state.

Is he OK in very sunny rooms, ie south-facing? Is it just changes in the light he doesn’t like?

AlCalavicci · 15/09/2020 04:36

I love the idea of a Eufy club Grin
@ChoccyJules he is fine in bright light ,, its just the change from dark / shade to bright / sunlight when he shows his vampire tendencies. so as PP said just shut the curtains or buy him some sunglasses.

mosscarpet · 15/09/2020 06:40

just popping back to completely agree what a game changer Dobby has been. Had him about 4 weeks now and it makes me sooo happy having almost permenantly clean floors and never having to hoover. I also chat to him as he goes along! And yes, there is a stripe of sunlight that falls across our lounge floor on sunny days at certain times which he wont cross, but other than that no issues at all!
In fact, I find myself getting quite annoyed when I actually have to hoover the stairs now!!

I got lost down the Eufy Rabbithole at about 3am this morning because of this thread.

As soon as DH woke up I told him that I need a Eufy for my birthday (he asked yesterday what I wanted)

He grumbled and then started researching....

...He is now thinking of names 😂

ChoccyJules · 15/09/2020 08:58

I’m not going to tell you how much time I have wasted thinking of a possible name...

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 15/09/2020 09:06

Quick whizz around clearing the floor this morning before setting him off. The house just feels so much neater with him around!

I do also like how we’ve largely masculinised our Eufys despite it being women who generally do most of the hoovering Grin

SparklingLime · 15/09/2020 10:13

Very tempted. What happens if you don’t tidy up properly first, and there are piles of newspapers and crap around? Can he just avoid or will he get in a muddle?

DottyDotAgain · 15/09/2020 10:18

I love my Eufy soooo much! She's called Buffy the Crumb Slayer and goes round downstairs at 9pm every evening. I can't believe how much crap she picks up - it's embarrassing really, considering before Buffy we used to sweep the floors/hoover once a week-ish...

She does chew newspaper/papers if they're left on the floor, so we've all quickly got used to picking stuff up - not a bad thing!

I wouldn't be without her now and at weekends she gets carried upstairs for a dustfest treat Grin In an ideal world I'd have two, obvs...

Baxdream · 15/09/2020 10:29

So I was recently gifted £500 for a significant birthday..
My plan is to get an Apple Watch which should leave me with £100 spare. I'm thinking this could go towards a Eufy..

I need to know which one to get! I've got a reasonably large house, two floors with a dog who doesn't moult but deep carpets..

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 15/09/2020 10:47

@SparklingLime If it’s a fairly large pile, about at tall as Eufy himself, then he’ll just clean around it. Anything small enough for him to climb onto then he’s likely to try to hump it and then call you for help!

averythinline · 15/09/2020 10:48

I got the basic eufy and he's part of the family now.. if he ever gives up I will definitely get another...we don't use automated cleaning as I need to check floor for random stuff first ...love him..

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 15/09/2020 10:51

Mine records little maps of where he’s cleaned. They make me so happy 😂😂😂 I couldn’t bring myself to share the joy on social media but I know you’ll all understand 😆

Any new Eufy Robovac parents out there?
bananamonkey · 15/09/2020 11:27

We’re on holiday now and I miss him pootling around, wish we’d brought him to pick up all of DD1’s crumbs.

ChoccyJules · 15/09/2020 12:50

He’s on the charger!!!

Baxdream · 15/09/2020 13:20

I'm going to order one later. If anyone would like to refer me on Eufy send me your email.
I'm going to get the 30c max

TrickyD · 15/09/2020 13:23

How does ‘refer’ work?

Baxdream · 15/09/2020 13:27

It says this?

Baxdream · 15/09/2020 13:29

You might just have a link to pm me that I use. Every penny counts!

TrickyD · 15/09/2020 13:30

Sorry, Baxdream, I don’t understand.

Do you get a reduction if someone refers you? Or do they?

OP posts:
TrickyD · 15/09/2020 13:33

Eufy have the 30c for £190 at the moment, but nothing about refering.

OP posts:
ArriettyCArriettyC · 15/09/2020 13:44

have sent you a link - you should get £40 off!

Baxdream · 15/09/2020 14:09

It won't let me use two codes so I've not used the £40 off. But you should get a £40 amazon voucher in a month.
Hopefully someone else will buy soon and I can refer them and get £40 that way!
