Any new Eufy Robovac parents out there?

A couple of weeks ago there was a flurry of recommendations for the Eufy RoboVac on a couple of threads.
Several posters declared they would be buying one. I was one of them.
I wondered how other new owners were getting on. We are delighted with ours.
To start with it did not seem like a time saver, but this was because we were so fascinated with its purposeful scurrying that we just sat and watched it.
Now it gets going via the app every morning at 6.30 and does three rooms plus many yards of hall carpet.
It is truly amazing how much it picks up. After four days on the same route it still fills up each time. It seems to be mainly picking up dust, but where does it keep coming from?
Just two complaints: the small pieces of adhesive paper supplied is not very sticky. You use those if you want to create a barrier. When you interrupt its routine to tell it to go back to its base it won’t go straight there but rather indignantly insists on going via the pretty route.

Otherwise great!
Anyone else?

So I've gone 11c max. Geoff has arrived today, he's on charge. I can't set the time on the remote and Geoff is looking like a puppy from the rescue blinking sadly in the corner
No instructions on how to set the time on the remote - any advice?

CodenameLevonelle · 09/09/2020 18:51

I've worked the time out now (hangs head in shame for not noticing the clock button)

Just caught DD9 reaching down to stroke Goofy as he passed her on the sofa 😂

Have had my Robbie since Saturday and my carpets have never looked so good. He is my new favourite pet- cat has gone into hiding and the dog is still sulking!

Random question alert! Has anybody’s Eufy met a house spider yet? If so, what happened?

AlCalavicci · 10/09/2020 08:06

Yes a few days ago , the spider ran towards it to start with I jumped up to save it ( I like spiders ) but it seems to realise it needed to high tail it in the other direction sharpish . I presume it was the vibrations from Eufy that confused it
ooh there is something in my web , let's go have a look, argh fuck that it's too big I am off Grin

Do you think if every Eufy owner campaigns really hard we can get the company to invent a Eufy with slinky tendancys
I want to be able to put one at the top of the stsirs and set it going so it tumbles down a step vacs it then tumbles down the next one so it would have to be able to vac both ways up , I think it would be about the size of a tin of beans .
It is do-able isn't it >>>looks round hopfully

cakemeupbeforeyougogo · 10/09/2020 08:19

An getting very confused with all the models. Amazon have a eufy 15C Max with Boost. Description below.

[BoostIQ] RoboVac 15C MAX, Wi-Fi Connected Robot Vacuum Cleaner, Super-Thin, 2000Pa Suction, Quiet, Self-Charging Robotic Vacuum Cleaner, Cleans Hard Floors to Medium-Pile Carpets

Would this be more powerful than a 30C Max?

AlCalavicci · 10/09/2020 08:55

@cakemeupbeforeyougogo
Look back through this thread at @mosscarpet posts on the 25th ( I think ) s/he give a clear run through of the different models & capabilities

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 10/09/2020 10:04

@cakemeupbeforeyougogo

Try this

smartrobotreviews.com/reviews/eufy-robot-vacuum-cleaners-comparison.html

But double check the specs in the chart against the Eufy website in case it’s out of date.

Chasingsquirrels · 10/09/2020 14:43

BoostIQ is "intelligent" vacuuming - it switches modes/power levels on carpet/hard surfaces.

The 15c MAX and 30c MAX are the same machine specs but the 30c has the boundary strips.

cakemeupbeforeyougogo · 10/09/2020 16:51

Thanks people - those comments were useful.

I have just ordered the Boost15C MAX super slim 2000 with £40 off. Couldn't justify the extra money for the metallic strips.

CodenameLevonelle · 11/09/2020 19:00

Well Geoffy is a solid member of the family already. My eldest son has taken the role of locus parentis and says he understands when Geoffy is happy or sad. Very funny to watch him have a conversation with the little critter!

Pashazade · 11/09/2020 19:12

So DJ Dustdafloor has entered da house! DS named him 😁. Impressed so far...

AlCalavicci · 11/09/2020 19:18

I am glad geoffy is settling in well , you will find him easy to litter train and he will eat most food but his favourite is spaghetti type food Grin

LivingMyBestLife2020 · 11/09/2020 19:30

I’m currently in a cottage on holiday in the New Forest and I am missing Rupert so much! Have a Dyson here but you have to plug it in and push it around yourself??!! 😂

Fishfingersandwichplease · 11/09/2020 19:52

Only had mine 2 weeks but has changed my life!! I got the 11s max - wasn't fussed about having an app and it running off wifi. We called him Ronnie!

bananamonkey · 11/09/2020 20:25

BB arrived last night and I love him already (DD aged 4 named him after BB8). Even though I hoovered the day before he picked up loads of crap. DH ordered him and he’s a 30 model whatever that means. I love how he goes back to his little station when he’s tired.

Karwomannghia · 11/09/2020 20:31

Our Colin is great. He’s been put through his paces though, braving my teenaged ds’s room. I shut him in and when I returned later he was limping around aimlessly looking for his base, one brush had come off. He was quite traumatised. He’s really got the hang of downstairs now, I just need to raise the hall cupboard so he can get fully under that. There’s just not quite enough room at the moment. I really can’t wait!!

TrickyD · 11/09/2020 20:38

. Even though I hoovered the day before he picked up loads of crap

And he will keep on doing it.

It really is a mystery how he can find so much more than the vacuum did. Just when we think the amount of junk he picks up on his daily trip is declining, suddenly he is jam-packed again.

Does anyone know if I can use this chap with a loop pile? Worried about pulling up the loop or making it all fluffy. Also which strength would I get? Thanks

Pegase · 12/09/2020 13:31

I really can't afford this as on mat leave but I also can't deal with endless crumbs everyone leaves everywhere so have ordered a 30C! What is the biggest piece it can pick up? Eg would it pick up a Rice Krispie not just dust?

Chasingsquirrels · 12/09/2020 13:56

Definately pick up a rice krispie. Mine keeps finding dog biscuits that have gone under things.

Crazydogmumma · 12/09/2020 13:56

I would think it could eat a rice Crispie- my 15c Max gobbled up a glasses cleaning cloth this morning!

GetTheStartyParted · 12/09/2020 14:29

We love ours here, I got it a couple of months back after seeing comments on another thread.

It picks up dry dog food - my DDog decides Robbie needs feeding everytime he goes in the kitchen! She tips her bowl of food out for him, after I have checked the floors are clear Hmm

ChoccyJules · 12/09/2020 23:46

Does Eufy make dents in chair legs?

I have sown the seed with DH, who thought they were all around £500 and was pleasantly surprised , so am currently wondering about the 11Smax or 15cmax.

Would still like to find a good deal on whichever one I decide on, at the moment they don’t seem quite as bargainous as at the beginning of this thread.
