Any new Eufy Robovac parents out there?

A couple of weeks ago there was a flurry of recommendations for the Eufy RoboVac on a couple of threads.
Several posters declared they would be buying one. I was one of them.
I wondered how other new owners were getting on. We are delighted with ours.
To start with it did not seem like a time saver, but this was because we were so fascinated with its purposeful scurrying that we just sat and watched it.
Now it gets going via the app every morning at 6.30 and does three rooms plus many yards of hall carpet.
It is truly amazing how much it picks up. After four days on the same route it still fills up each time. It seems to be mainly picking up dust, but where does it keep coming from?
Just two complaints: the small pieces of adhesive paper supplied is not very sticky. You use those if you want to create a barrier. When you interrupt its routine to tell it to go back to its base it won’t go straight there but rather indignantly insists on going via the pretty route.

Otherwise great!
Anyone else?

Mostly he gets back to the charger ok. Bt sometimes he runs over it and spins and gets confused. Then the charger moves with him and it’s a huge muddle.

@snaxinyourslacks

Has anyone bought any replacement brushes and parts yet? I know my Rupert came with a spare set, but I'm wondering where is the best place to buy from. Amazon and EBay have lots of generic ones for half the price but I'm not sure how good they are.
Unfortunately ours got involved with an unexpected pet 'accident ' 😩

I bought replacement parts from Amazon for the bits that I didn't want to deal with.

Can anyone explain what I need to do with the filter?

I just clean what I can from the surface and once a week I put it under running water. Just make sure it's completely dry before putting it back.
DobbyTheHouseElk · 04/09/2020 16:08

Thank you. I am brushing it, but had a feeling it needed more attention.

LizB62A · 04/09/2020 16:11

I sent my 30c, Goofy, back to Amazon and upgraded to a G30 Edge.
We've called it Lemming as he really looks like he's going to throw himself down the stairs (plus he somehow managed to drag a plastic bag out of somewhere the other day and tried to suffocate himself on it....)

Lemming has three suction settings, so yesterday and today he's done the house on the highest setting and he's still finding enough to fill his little box up with !!

I'm also now thinking about a robot lawn mower - should I start a new thread looking for recommendations ?

Your house must be much cleaner than mine - I'm washing my two filters every day, they get so gunked up with dust and cat fur !

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 04/09/2020 16:14

I got the G30 Edge too @LizB62A and so far so good. It definitely makes us clear the floor more often so we can send him for a spin. I also got the Eufy handheld for doing a quick whizz around with. Not hugely impressed but it’s decent enough for hoovering up spilled Rice Krispies in the morning.

Delbelleber · 04/09/2020 16:21

Hello. I have ordered a eufy and its coming next week! Grin

LizB62A · 04/09/2020 18:54

@GingerAndTheBiscuits

I'm hoping that this encourages me to clear more of the floor (and generally tidy up) so I'm glad to hear that !
I've got a Shark which I'll use to do the stairs and any other bits that the Lemming can't do.
Maybe they can do a climbing Eufy to get the cobwebs ! Smile

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 04/09/2020 18:59

Ours is called Goofy Grin

Roberto arrived today! We’ve all stood and watched him work, fantastic!

LivingMyBestLife2020 · 05/09/2020 08:15

I caught Rupert humping the power extension cable under my bed yesterday 😂

Bridecilla · 05/09/2020 09:43

Argh! I can't get Dobby to connect to the app. The settings on my phone are OK I think!

Ours humps the cat scratching post.
Karwomannghia · 05/09/2020 10:46

If you’ve enabled permissions and it’s not coming up in the list of WiFi available, reset eufy by holding down the start buttons for 10 seconds then try again (full instructions on the app). Worked for me when it lost connection when I was setting it up and then it wouldn’t come up on the WiFi again.

Karwomannghia · 05/09/2020 10:47

*start button, the big one on the top

Karwomannghia · 05/09/2020 10:48

Our humps his own bed Confused
The only downside to it is that now my stairs look worse than ever.

zowiewowie · 05/09/2020 11:29

Mine was delivered Tuesday and I absolutely love it. House has never looked so clean. I was expecting to send it back, told my son we were just going to see how it did.

With two fluffy long haired cats and an open plan ground floor if I hoover in the evening by the morning I see cat hair everywhere.

Toby starts cleaning at 6am and when I come down to make tea it’s really comforting to see him trundling away doing his thing. And everywhere looks so clean and feels fresher!

The cats weren’t too sure so my son sellotaped cat nip toys and occasionally a laser pen to him and now they are fascinated!

I fully expected a robot vacuum to be a gimmick and not have much suction or do a thorough job, but it’s amazing. Best thing I ever bought! Having one less job to do makes such a difference to the end to a load, as I hated my heavy, awkward old hoover.

DH discovered this morning that the little fella had been trudging around without his litter tray inserted.
This was finally discovered amongst the toys belonging to small grandson who visited yesterday.
Poor little chap had to do second circuit to pick up his own mess.

Please could we have a few more comments from those who own the Eufy which both mops and sucks? DS1 fancies one, having been impressed by our 30c. There seem to be several variations of the mopping one.

OP posts:
snaxinyourslacks · 06/09/2020 18:41

@TrickyD I didn't realise there were so many variations of the mopping one. I really like my G10 hybrid. He has 2 suction modes and I'm appalled/delighted at how much he picks up every day! He copes very well with pet hair. I haven't had to use the big hoover since I've had him. I do like the 'mopping' function but I'm not overly impressed. The water tank is tiny, and it sort of drags a microfibre cloth around rather than properly mopping. It does finish the floor nicely, but wouldn't cope with big spills or stubborn dirt.

The one downside with the mopping function is that you cannot leave it on, you have to remove the water tank and cloth and only attach when you want to use it.

That said, I am very pleased overall and not regretted I buying him. Even my skeptical dh has been won over and impressed.

TrickyD · 06/09/2020 22:59

Thanks for that very useful info, snaxinyourslacks, I have sent it to DS1.

Eeek I told DH today that I wanted one of these for Christmas and he’s ordered me one to come on Saturday! I’m so excited, I hope he’s the third child I never knew I wanted.

MotherFeeder · 09/09/2020 15:22

@bananamonkey he is!! He is!! We love him
