Any new Eufy Robovac parents out there?

A couple of weeks ago there was a flurry of recommendations for the Eufy RoboVac on a couple of threads.
Several posters declared they would be buying one. I was one of them.
I wondered how other new owners were getting on. We are delighted with ours.
To start with it did not seem like a time saver, but this was because we were so fascinated with its purposeful scurrying that we just sat and watched it.
Now it gets going via the app every morning at 6.30 and does three rooms plus many yards of hall carpet.
It is truly amazing how much it picks up. After four days on the same route it still fills up each time. It seems to be mainly picking up dust, but where does it keep coming from?
Just two complaints: the small pieces of adhesive paper supplied is not very sticky. You use those if you want to create a barrier. When you interrupt its routine to tell it to go back to its base it won’t go straight there but rather indignantly insists on going via the pretty route.

Otherwise great!
Anyone else?

@AlCalavicci

Yep he won't throw himself down the stairs , though it may make your heart stop the 1st time you watch him get close to it ! If you ( like me ) dont have the strips a heavyish snake draught excluder will keep him out of no go areas.
I think this is going to solve my problem with it getting stuck under the sofa!

Crikey this is a useful thread! I really want one but can’t work out the differences between the models. I have hard floors, no pets, but very messy children. Are the ones that mop as well good? Or should I just get a Hoover one? And what is the difference between the models? Am completely unable to decipher that website!

11s is basic model. Doesnt connect to app 15c next model up, connects to app 15c Max - as for 15 c but with greater suction 30c - connects to app, and comes with boundary strips to block off areas 30c Max - as for 30c but with greater suction

didn't look into the mopping ones!

Thanks!!! I don’t know why they couldn’t put some kind of synopsis like this on their website! I think I want the 15C.....unless the mopping ones are good

Useful guide here comparing models though worth double checking the spec for each one is accurate/current

smartrobotreviews.com/reviews/eufy-robot-vacuum-cleaners-comparison.html

Ours has had his first spin around downstairs. DH was totally sceptical but is won over Grin Considering I hoovered only yesterday he picked up so much crap! Even fits under the living room dresser where dust bunnies like to breed. I’ve put a boundary strip in the playroom door as otherwise he’d be wolfing down Lego and loom bands all night. Works fine but I am going to play about with attaching boundary strip to thin piece of old laminate floorboard I think to make it portable rather than permanent. I love him. My mum is excited to hear hoe he performs so that could be her Christmas present sorted already!

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 31/08/2020 21:15

I especially love the way he pootles back to his charging station!

Cakes4Teatime · 31/08/2020 22:32

Ours doesn’t seem to be able to find its way back to the charging station unless it’s in the room where the charger is. Anyone else have this?

Also any good ideas for the spaghetti junction of wires behind the TV?

TrickyD · 31/08/2020 22:38

He should go back without a fuss even from a different room, though he might take a while to do so. They are usually home lovers.

If he is really reluctant, I would ring Eufy. Their customer support is said to be very good.

Mine did take a good few days to learn how to get home, I think the advice is just to leave him so he can learn. If he hasn't got it after a week or so, I agree with giving customer service a ring.

snaxinyourslacks · 01/09/2020 08:04

Has anyone bought any replacement brushes and parts yet? I know my Rupert came with a spare set, but I'm wondering where is the best place to buy from. Amazon and EBay have lots of generic ones for half the price but I'm not sure how good they are.

TrickyD · 01/09/2020 11:49

Ours finished his morning run this morning and his litter tray was only a quarter full.
Maybe we are finally getting rid of the ingrained filth we must have been living with.

Worth checking the prices @PersisFord. The 30 I have was cheaper than the next model down on amazon recently

Crazydogmumma · 01/09/2020 23:59

The 15c Max has £80 off on amazon and direct from the Eufy website for the next 5 days Smile

Dobby arrived today and has settled in nicely to his home under the settee. I've not read the manual or downloaded the app, I just set him off. Will have a good play tomorrow:)

oh, I have a Dobby too!!
DobbyTheHouseElk · 02/09/2020 08:32

I had to sent my Eufy to bed early last night.

He sent me 3 texts in 10 mins and was beeping and complaining. I don’t know why. Anyone else had this?

He said his roller was full of hair, it wasn’t. He said he was stuck but he’d attempted to go under a cupboard he hadn’t needed to before. Then he (somehow) pulled a bag off a handle and got the straps caught.

Why had he suddenly gone rogue? I had to send him to bed he was being too demanding.

Karwomannghia · 02/09/2020 08:47

Gulp just bought that amazon discounted one!

TrickyD · 02/09/2020 08:53

Dobby it sounds as if there should be a Jo Frost to sort out naughty Eufys.

Just ordered mine using the offer code- very excited!!!

MotherFeeder · 03/09/2020 17:37

Just a little update from us.
He arrived on Wednesday and we left him to charge. I've let him out to do his things twice now. First in the kitchen, and then he let himself in to our playroom as the door was open.

He's AMAZING!

I can't believe how much dog and cat fur he picks up. My husband says I'm like a pig in shit!!

For anyone considering buying one, do it!

Ours needs a name now

Chasingsquirrels · 03/09/2020 17:59

Mine shut the dining room door behind itself last night and sent me notifications at 5.42am and 5.52am to say it was low on power then needed returning to base manually.
It goes out at 2.30am, so had presumably done its stuff then been trying to get home for a good hour or so!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 03/09/2020 19:55

So far I’m seeing exemplary behaviour. But he’s been on the naughty step, so I’m hoping he doesn’t get into mischief.

Karwomannghia · 03/09/2020 21:43

Enjoying our new cleaner, Colin! Love the edge setting! Do you have to train them back to their chargers or do they know? When Colin started cleaning near it he just kind of rammed it as if he had no idea what it was!

Decentsalnotime · 04/09/2020 11:39
