Any new Eufy Robovac parents out there?

A couple of weeks ago there was a flurry of recommendations for the Eufy RoboVac on a couple of threads.
Several posters declared they would be buying one. I was one of them.
I wondered how other new owners were getting on. We are delighted with ours.
To start with it did not seem like a time saver, but this was because we were so fascinated with its purposeful scurrying that we just sat and watched it.
Now it gets going via the app every morning at 6.30 and does three rooms plus many yards of hall carpet.
It is truly amazing how much it picks up. After four days on the same route it still fills up each time. It seems to be mainly picking up dust, but where does it keep coming from?
Just two complaints: the small pieces of adhesive paper supplied is not very sticky. You use those if you want to create a barrier. When you interrupt its routine to tell it to go back to its base it won’t go straight there but rather indignantly insists on going via the pretty route.

Otherwise great!
Anyone else?

Amazon have a very similar looking cleaner called a Bagotte today with a voucher £170 , No idea what Bagottes are like but the reviews look good.

@Kittywampus

Mine picks up cheerios and cat litter.

I tried him on the beds but I think they are too soft for him and he keeps getting stuck in the dips in the mattress. He managed to flip himself upside down the other day and was stuck on his back like a beetle when I found him Shock

@Kittywampus

Why would you try him on beds?!

TrickyD · 20/08/2020 11:39

Probably because someone upthread suggested it.

I love,love love my Robbie. Alexa sets him off and stops him if I need, otherwise he trots about for a couple of hours at midnight. He takes about 150 min to clean out 2 rooms, hall and kitchen. I set him off most nights but put him in the bedrooms now and then. He picks up huge amounts of dust!

Kittywampus · 20/08/2020 12:31

@Waytoomuch82 I hoover the beds because of dust allergies, robovac would have been a good lazy option!

thinkingcapon · 20/08/2020 12:33

Does anyone have one with mop attachment?

Ivysaurusrex · 20/08/2020 12:36

We got guillermo on Tuesday he's amazing. He cleans everything. Sometimes he finds it hard to go home he needs a little help. But my floors look amazing no more bits! Thanks for the recommendation op

I'd love to know how many they've sold off the back of this thread Grin

About to be one more… I've looked at all the comparisons BUT from experience can anyone tell me how the 30C Max is with very deep carpets prone to collecting dust and cat hair? I have quite a bad dust allergy –unfortunately we can't have hard floors (in a flat) so if this would help I'd be sold! TIA!

nessnessness · 20/08/2020 16:18

"Guffy" (because that's what DD thought he was) will be set up later.
Not sure if I can find a clear area with 1m either side, 2m in front, flat against wall for his home spot.
Where are you all kennelling yours?

NiceGerbil · 20/08/2020 16:48

Guffy Grin

NiceGerbil · 20/08/2020 16:48

Ours is in space not that wide at all and he is happy

NiceGerbil · 20/08/2020 16:49

And there's a pillar about 1m in front.

I have normal carpets, a very hairy cat and he is fab. I’m shocked and embarrassed by the amount of crud he collects each day.

I used a dyson animal 1-3 x a day previously. So my carpets can’t have been bad.

Mine doesn't have that space to the side. Copes just fine.
clevername · 20/08/2020 18:23

Thanks for the tips/reassurance re - the aimlessness of him. I watched him near-missing a cheerio and a piece of fluff for so long yesterday I swear he was DELIBERATELY avoiding them.

I used him on spot clean mode for a bit last night, and also told him where to go on the remote and that helped a bit.

Think he's poorly, though... He keeps flashing red and beeping three times a few minutes after starting. I've followed the troubleshooting guide but he keeps doing it Sad... I guess I'll have to ring Eufy tomorrow.

Oblomov20 · 20/08/2020 19:24

Can I just check:
1)How much is it?
2)Has it scuffed anything/done any damage?
3)with hindsight do you wish you'd bought a different model?

Graffitiqueen · 20/08/2020 20:07

@nessnessness Brian lives under the sofa in our house.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 20/08/2020 20:35
  1. 189.99 from Eufy website.

  2. not so far, he glides away from objects.

  3. I’m really pleased.

AlCalavicci · 20/08/2020 21:14

@clevername
Have you cleaned his sensors ? Give his silver paws and face a wipe with a damp cloth. Or is he like mine and scared of sunlight? If mine too as onto a bright light he gets in a tizzy and hides in a corner

His kennel is in a space about 4 inches clearance on do the side.

AlCalavicci · 20/08/2020 21:21

@Oblomov20

1 just under £200 last year
2 no he has never scuffed or marked anything he spills the water every now and then
3 nope I am very happy with my 11s

SweepTheHalls · 20/08/2020 21:28

I am just coming back to say that I bought one after reading this thread and everyone LOVES him. He is currently patroling the kids bedrooms while they sleep!
