Any new Eufy Robovac parents out there?

A couple of weeks ago there was a flurry of recommendations for the Eufy RoboVac on a couple of threads.
Several posters declared they would be buying one. I was one of them.
I wondered how other new owners were getting on. We are delighted with ours.
To start with it did not seem like a time saver, but this was because we were so fascinated with its purposeful scurrying that we just sat and watched it.
Now it gets going via the app every morning at 6.30 and does three rooms plus many yards of hall carpet.
It is truly amazing how much it picks up. After four days on the same route it still fills up each time. It seems to be mainly picking up dust, but where does it keep coming from?
Just two complaints: the small pieces of adhesive paper supplied is not very sticky. You use those if you want to create a barrier. When you interrupt its routine to tell it to go back to its base it won’t go straight there but rather indignantly insists on going via the pretty route.

Otherwise great!
Anyone else?

Mmm for all those thinking of buying (I am price watching as I missed the offer on the 15C) they have the 30C on today for an amazing £80 off at £209.99. On Saturday I think it was £60 off at £189.99.

Maybe they've been reading this read!

Are you looking at the 30C max rather than just the 30C?
TrickyD · 17/08/2020 21:08

Amazon have the 30c today, with their 15% voucher, for £195.49.

Ufee or OOfee , I am not sure , the more I think about it the lest sure I am Confused
I was amazed at how much he picked up for the 1st week or so , I had to empty him everyday , now its about every 3 days . .
I have a big vax ( the orange tub one ) that is a carpet shampooer too , it has amazing suction but is a bugger to lug about so I love mine .

It isnt just the not having to vac though, because you have to clear the floor before he an go for a wander it becomes a habit to keep the floor clear and clean , so all shoes are put away so he doesn't eat the laces , all wires are kept tucked away and the cats toys are kept (mostly ) in his box so the house looks tidier even before Eufy sets off

I want to know more about the hybrid as I'd love a mopping robot

brakethree · 17/08/2020 21:20

Sex - I'm actually looking at the 15c but can see what you are getting at there, it is the max which has those strip things. I want a 15c, no strips. I am waiting, patiently.

I’ve got the 15C max, it doesn’t have the boundary strips. I’m LOVING it.

I love her more than I love my husband. Her name is Tatiana and she's part of the family.

tootyfruitypickle · 17/08/2020 22:00

I’ve moved into a house with a kitchen on legs. I can’t clean under the units very well and was thinking of finding a carpenter to build kickboards. But now I think this could be a much more exciting way to spend the money! Would it cope with lots of kitchen. Unit legs? Also the floor is slate tiles .

tootyfruitypickle · 17/08/2020 22:02

Also can it go round extension leads on the floor?

SweetGrapes · 17/08/2020 22:23

Slate tiles should be fine. Re the legs, check the gap is more than Eufy's height. It may go round and round the legs a little but otherwise should cope.

It doesn't like extension cords on the floor though. Gets tangled and then you have to go and sort it out

AlCalavicci · 18/08/2020 04:32

@itsmymess
I would like a moping one too , but i dont know how it would cope with my set up , I have lino >carpt > lino I dont want it to mop the carpt but I would have no way of blocking it .
Does anyone have a mrs mop version ?

Bluewavescrashing · 18/08/2020 05:12

This is all very cute and I'd be totally on board with having a robo vac if I weren't robot phobic. I just can't bring myself to have a robot in my house. Shame.

AlCalavicci · 18/08/2020 05:29

@Bluewavescrashing
I promise they won't infiltrate your family and reign dominance over you.

Um but they do seem to have a habit it of following you around and wanting to clean that bit of floor you are stood on

Bluewavescrashing · 18/08/2020 05:31

😱

snaxinyourslacks · 18/08/2020 08:00

@itsmymess and @AlCalavicci I have the hybrid one.

It's really only for hard floors as it sweeps rather than hoovers, so it just has the side brushes and no roller brush (but the amount of dirt it picks up is amazing!)

The 'mop' function is a microfibre cloth that drips water and drags it around the floor. You cannot leave the water tank and mop cloth on Eufy, you need to remove when he is done mopping.

I probably use the mop function once or twice a week, it's good for keeping on top of things, but couldn't deal with stubborn stains.

When you want to use the mopping function, you could just block him in a specific room.

Skyliner001 · 18/08/2020 08:01

I have half Inch high threshwoods on doors. They are approx 5 inches wide too. Will Eufy cope?

Skyliner001 · 18/08/2020 08:05

Also which is the most powerful?
Sorry I'm still deciding!!! Whether to and which one 😳

Gingerninja4 · 18/08/2020 09:15

Is there a way of blocking of areas that you want him to keep away from (thinking cable mass by TV

Trashtara · 18/08/2020 09:27

Would it cope with lots of kitchen. Unit legs? Also the floor is slate tiles . wouldn't be an issue. May occasionally get itself trapped, but not always.

Also can it go round extension leads on the floor? ours copes with some but not others, depends how they are positioned. We have one that is just the cord, which is quite tight and it just hops over it. One which is near the 4 way end it struggles more with and can sometimes get stuck. Thin ones (like charger cables) it eats.

could you upload a photo, I'd be able to tell you then

DobbyTheHouseElk · 18/08/2020 09:35

Eufy managed to climb over the legs of the clothes airer.
(Proud moment)

It’s probably an inch or more bar on the floor. Once he’d done it he got a bit obsessed showing off. The first time I tried to help, but he is so independent.

Sexnotgender · 18/08/2020 11:38

DH said Eufy looks like a giant tick and now I can’t unsee it😫

FedUpWithBriiiiick · 18/08/2020 11:46

Oh my god you guys I've been sucked in (geddit?)

Getting the 30c Max Blush

FedUpWithBriiiiick · 18/08/2020 11:54

Is the only difference between the 30c and the max version the wattage?

Is 2000w too powerful?
