Any new Eufy Robovac parents out there?

A couple of weeks ago there was a flurry of recommendations for the Eufy RoboVac on a couple of threads.
Several posters declared they would be buying one. I was one of them.
I wondered how other new owners were getting on. We are delighted with ours.
To start with it did not seem like a time saver, but this was because we were so fascinated with its purposeful scurrying that we just sat and watched it.
Now it gets going via the app every morning at 6.30 and does three rooms plus many yards of hall carpet.
It is truly amazing how much it picks up. After four days on the same route it still fills up each time. It seems to be mainly picking up dust, but where does it keep coming from?
Just two complaints: the small pieces of adhesive paper supplied is not very sticky. You use those if you want to create a barrier. When you interrupt its routine to tell it to go back to its base it won’t go straight there but rather indignantly insists on going via the pretty route.

Otherwise great!
Anyone else?

Eufy spent a lot of time under an armchair. He was very thorough and kept returning to do more.

He’s still sleeping/charging. How long will he charge for? I don’t want to leave him on charge at night.

AlCalavicci · 16/08/2020 22:41

Mine runs for about a hr and 15 mins , o haven t really paid much attention to his recharge time but I'd guess at about 2.5 /3 I leave him plugged in all the time , I have never had any problems

AlCalavicci · 16/08/2020 22:42

Scuse all the typos !

I love my Eufy . I think it is hands down the best thing I have ever bought . I’m so glad I saw this thread !

Waytoomuch82 · 17/08/2020 11:05

Absolutely love love love it

Two questions

  1. If going Away for a few days, do you leave on charge or turn off completely?
  1. How frequently do you clean?
TrickyD · 17/08/2020 11:27

We haven’t reached the point of going away and leaving him yet, so can’t advise about charging.
He goes on his rounds every morning at 6.30. He does the Snug where he lives, the sitting room and the dining room and all the hall carpets connecting them. The rooms are all big. Sorry to say we have to take his little tray out every day as it quickly gets totally full. Heaven knows what our carpets were like before he came, though DH said he thought there was a bit less dust to empty today.

This morning Mrs Doubtfire took on a ball of wool that had rolled under the sofa, and lost...

Needed rescuing.

Waytoomuch82 ours is either on charge or hoovering. We never turn it off. If going on holiday I stop it cleaning whilst we are away, until just before we are set to return.

DappledOliveGroves · 17/08/2020 11:48

Roman the Robot (30C) arrived and we put him to work yesterday. I love him so much already. He did all of downstairs yesterday perfectly. It's the first time that under the sofa has been properly vacuumed in years! It's all hard floors downstairs and he was wonderful.

I brought him upstairs today to do our bedroom and the hallway, the latter of which is carpeted. He excelled himself. I was really impressed with the carpet cleaning too. I put him on max suction and it looks like I vacuumed with our usual cleaner (Miele). He's now docked and charging up.

I am so glad I bit the bullet and bought him!

NiceGerbil · 17/08/2020 11:58

Wow at all the eufy love. They are going to sell loads off the back of this thread! And quite right too it's a great product.

Sexnotgender · 17/08/2020 12:08

Do you stick your Eufy in one room and let them do that then move it or just let it meander between rooms?

Trashtara · 17/08/2020 12:12

Ours just meanders. If I want a room doing well I close the door and trap it in there. Ours runs daily so that is rare.
snaxinyourslacks · 17/08/2020 12:54

For those of you that are amazed at how full the dust tray gets daily, I've had mine about a month and I still get loads everyday. I thought it may initially be full then ease off, but no Eufy is a hungry boy!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 17/08/2020 12:56

I think I might trap him in a room, he does meander between rooms. He looks like he’s exploring. He had a full dust trap so don’t know where he found that because I did use the dyson yesterday, but he’s been under the beds and he even fits under the bath which is wonderful.

I haven’t worked the settings yet, I can’t set up the app yet on my phone.
He’s so adorable, we love him.

TrickyD · 17/08/2020 13:42

Dobby he is obviously determined to prove how superior he is to a Dyson.

Shortly before getting our Eufy we got a new shark, which is amazing - I did a really thorough hoover with it the day DH brought Eufy home (it was a surprise) and when we set Eufy off that first time I could not believe how much it collected! For the first week or two it had to be emptied daily. Now it's every 3 or 4 days.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 17/08/2020 13:50

It looked like it was mainly cat hair. It was embarrassing really. He had been under the beds and I don’t pull the beds out that often.

Trying to work out how to set him up.

nessnessness · 17/08/2020 14:06

How are you pronouncing Eufy?

You-fee? Oh-fee?

(Im tracking Mr Amazon Delivery - he's eight stops away...)

DobbyTheHouseElk · 17/08/2020 14:08

Eff-EE

I’m sure that’s wrong though.

I tried to set up his wifi again, but woke him up and he came out of his house, so I sent him back home and he was very disoriented and spun around and got in a panic!

We say You-fee.No idea if it's right. DH is generally good with pronunciation though.
TrickyD · 17/08/2020 14:28

Youtube video pronounces it You-fee.

Im totally in love with mine. Got the cheapest one and it's fab! I am amazed at how much crap it's getting out of the carpet. I"ve run it daily for four days and it's been stuffed full every time. House feels SO much better and fresher.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 17/08/2020 19:47

He got very disoriented today. He was in a 30 mins clean and then was slow and looking for home. I felt so sad I had to carry him back. He didn’t recognise it and spun around, but eventually got there.

I haven’t got a 1m to the side of the charging point. I have in front, but it’s about 1 m one side and only 10 cm to the right,

GingerPCatt · 17/08/2020 20:22

DS (9) has discovered the remote! He's loving taking eufy for a spin after meals to get all the crumbs. Grin
