How often go you wash your bedsheets?

I put freshly washed line dried bedsheets on last night and it was lovely to sleep in the bed, as it always is!

I've just sat on a tube of moisturiser/tanning lotion and didn't realise (arse must be fatter than I realise) and half of it is now on my bed/shorts. I text my friend saying this just happened lol. Why is it always fresh sheets? Sort of message. I now wonder if I'm a bit of a rotter as she text back saying wouldn't you be putting fresh ones on tonight anyway?!

I change mine weekly. Usually a Friday task. Summer may change this but I don't sleep under the duvet if it's too hot so it doesn't automatically change in summer?!

And what about towels?

Once a week I change the sheet and pillows, and turn the duvet over. Duvet cover changed every two weeks.

Swelteringmeltering · 11/08/2020 14:49

Every two weeks ish.
More if necessary.

HettyPain · 11/08/2020 14:50

Wow. Once a week is fairly standard in our house. Don't think I know anyone who does it every day.

Weekly here too. Can’t imagine doing it daily. How much of a ball ache would that be.

Mingo2010 · 11/08/2020 14:53

Depends on the weather, once a week if it's not sweaty hot 2-3 a week if it's this weather

Mothermorph · 11/08/2020 14:53

MN standard, hourly, or in hot weather every half an hour.(washed at 6 billion degrees)

WorraLiberty · 11/08/2020 14:54

Probably less than this subject gets posted 😂

About once a week, or sometimes more in hot weather.

thisstooshallpass · 11/08/2020 14:54

Every two week, more if needed.

If I washed and dried outside a set of bedding and it smells of fresh air but I fold it away for next time (I will have made the bed up with a clean set already in the linen cupboard) why doesn't it smell as nice when I come to use it? It doesn't even smell of the nice fabric softner, it just smells of...nothing. Is everyone just using the same set of bed linen and waiting for it to dry? I hope this makes sense?!

notacooldad · 11/08/2020 14:54

We've not had a bedding thread for a while!
They used to be quite regular!
I do my bedding on a Wednesdays and Sundays.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 11/08/2020 14:55

Fuck doing it daily. Weekly ideally if i can be arsed. Pillowcases more often. In fact i dont always do the full thing at the same time. And none of it matches. Shock horror!

SillyUnMurphy · 11/08/2020 14:56

Once a week. Changing bed sheets every day would be ridiculous - not to mention what that amount of washing would do for the environment

WanderingMilly · 11/08/2020 14:56

Change my sheets every week, everything including duvet covers, the lot. If hot weather possibly twice a week, or if I'm ill and been in bed may change several times a week.

Change towels every day I'm afraid, after showering.
And I'm still old-fashioned enough to wear a nightdress, I have a fresh clean one every night too....

KatherineofTarragon · 11/08/2020 14:59

Every 2weeks here. But i air the beds daily.

Whathappenedtothelego · 11/08/2020 15:03

I change all the bedding and towels weekly, on a Sunday, to set everyone up for the week ahead.

I don't know anyone who would change every day - presumably either your washing machine would be on constantly, or you would need a big cupboard just to store all the sheets.

Millie2013 · 11/08/2020 15:03

Weekly! Love clean sheets night ❤️

starfishmummy · 11/08/2020 15:08

Twice a day.

MonkeysAllGoWoo · 11/08/2020 15:11

Breathes big sigh of relief!

Who has the time to do it daily? And then what about the environmental aspect of it... in winter are they tumble drying everyday?

Pieceofpurplesky · 11/08/2020 15:12

Sheets at least once a week and duvet cover longer (2/3 weeks). I have a sheet between me and duvet and menopause means 9/10 I just have the sheet on.

MinnieMountain · 11/08/2020 15:15

Every other week. I alternate Fridays with DS's and mine and DH's.

LightDrizzle · 11/08/2020 15:18

Every two weeks and aired daily.

If needed, one of us I’ll and sweaty, more often.

I hate changing double beds and I dare say that plays a part.

TheOrigBrave · 11/08/2020 15:19

It used to be about once a week, it's WAY more often than that now due to peri-menopausal night sweats. I wake up literally dripping. The neighbours must think I'm a bit batty (or are clued up about what can happen to women in their late 40s!).

I need more bed linen.

BertieBassettsBits · 11/08/2020 15:24

Twice a week at least

SaintWilfred · 11/08/2020 15:26

Every Friday... For some reason we call this, and the general cleaning/tidying that goes on that day, "getting Gogglebox ready".

FizzyPink · 11/08/2020 15:28

Every Sunday. However, if I ever win the lottery, I will pay someone to change my sheets for fresh ones every day. I love the clean feeling especially when you’ve shaved your legs and moisturised before getting in Grin

NotGenerationAlpha · 11/08/2020 15:29

Once a week either Saturday or Sunday.
