How often go you wash your bedsheets?

I put freshly washed line dried bedsheets on last night and it was lovely to sleep in the bed, as it always is!

I've just sat on a tube of moisturiser/tanning lotion and didn't realise (arse must be fatter than I realise) and half of it is now on my bed/shorts. I text my friend saying this just happened lol. Why is it always fresh sheets? Sort of message. I now wonder if I'm a bit of a rotter as she text back saying wouldn't you be putting fresh ones on tonight anyway?!

I change mine weekly. Usually a Friday task. Summer may change this but I don't sleep under the duvet if it's too hot so it doesn't automatically change in summer?!

And what about towels?

Once a week.

forgetthehousework · 11/08/2020 16:10

Twice a year, whether they need it or not.
I try to do it at about the same time as my six monthly shower.

wendywoopywoo222 · 11/08/2020 16:12

Did she not mean that you would change them as you had spilt something over them?

I change mine more when it's so hot.

There is no need to be doing it daily - good grief!! My ideal is weekly but I don't always remember so it's often fortnightly

HeronLanyon · 11/08/2020 16:15

Bedding not less than weekly. Hot wash every other time that set is washed.
Bath towels used for maybe three or four days - a once weeklyish hot towel wash.

Crystal87 · 11/08/2020 16:19

I change the bedding once a week more or less. Towels once or twice depending how much they have been used.

Hotcuppatea · 11/08/2020 16:21

Towels weekly and bedding fortnightly. I hate washing.

pinkbalconyrailing · 11/08/2020 16:22

anything between every week - 2 weeks.
to change sheets daily is bonkers and an enormous waste of water and electricity and time.

LordOftheRingz · 11/08/2020 16:23

Monthly.

A little more when I have ringworm. I do find it a hassle but the ringworm kind of grosses.

SadieContrary · 11/08/2020 16:24

I'd love to do it twice a week because sleeping in fresh sheets is delicious, however, half conscientiousness of the environment and half laziness means I do it once a week

Polkasquare · 11/08/2020 16:26

@LightDrizzle

Every two weeks and aired daily. If needed, one of us I’ll and sweaty, more often. I hate changing double beds and I dare say that plays a part.
How do you air them? Do you mean you hang them outside?
Megan2018 · 11/08/2020 16:27

When I was co-sleeping with the velcro baby it was often daily as she would vomit on sheets and they would get covered in breastmilk and I hate the smell of milk Envy (not envy).
Now I have my bed back it is usually weekly unless there is a baby or cat incident that necessitates earlier.
I LOVE clean sheets but daily is just wasteful (unless they are crusted with stale milk).

Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 11/08/2020 16:27

You're supposed to change them?

Polkasquare · 11/08/2020 16:28

And how do people define a "hot wash"? (I do mine at 60)

minnieok · 11/08/2020 16:31

Every couple of weeks if I remember, more if it's hot or they "need doing" Grin

Noextremes2017 · 11/08/2020 16:32

Once a year - whether they need it or not!Smile

Yas01 · 11/08/2020 16:34

Could your friend have meant you will be changing your shorts daily?

TinkersTailor · 11/08/2020 16:35

Every day Blush

I love the fresh bed smell, use tons of fabric softener, scent beads and detergent and physically cannot sleep in sheets that have been slept in already.

I have recently been diagnosed with OCD though which manifests itself as (amongst many other rituals) an obsession with linens&clothes smelling clean (of detergent, beads and softener)

Shmithecat2 · 11/08/2020 16:36

At least once a week, more often in this weather.

GiantPinesAhem · 11/08/2020 16:37

Blimey, I dread to think what that cost in water et cetera!

TOFO1965 · 11/08/2020 16:37

Twice a week, and the bottom sheet more regularly than that in ick weather like this.

HeronLanyon · 11/08/2020 16:38

My ‘hot wash’ would be 60. Has taken me some time to get there (And only for bedding and towels) as I was brought up with generally cold or slightly warm washing cycles only !

BigSandyBalls2015 · 11/08/2020 16:39

Every 2/3 weeks here! I don’t think we smell. Teens do theirs as and when.

Wankpuffin · 11/08/2020 16:40

Every 3 days.

Dh fucking stinks though. If I was on my own it would be less.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 11/08/2020 16:40

How often do you get ringworm Shock
