How often go you wash your bedsheets?

I put freshly washed line dried bedsheets on last night and it was lovely to sleep in the bed, as it always is!

I've just sat on a tube of moisturiser/tanning lotion and didn't realise (arse must be fatter than I realise) and half of it is now on my bed/shorts. I text my friend saying this just happened lol. Why is it always fresh sheets? Sort of message. I now wonder if I'm a bit of a rotter as she text back saying wouldn't you be putting fresh ones on tonight anyway?!

I change mine weekly. Usually a Friday task. Summer may change this but I don't sleep under the duvet if it's too hot so it doesn't automatically change in summer?!

And what about towels?

Weekly for duvet cover, sheets and pillowcases, unless I feel like fresh sheets in which case I treat myself! Yes my life rocks... but I'm happy!

My hot wash is also 60.
Same documentary tested pants before washing at 30 and after, more bacteria on them after a 30 degree wash.
My washer fella told me the scourge of plumbers is the 30 degree publicity together with "pods" and gel liquids as 30 deg just doesn't break up the fatty deposits in the detergent so your pipes get clogged up. He said despite what they say on the ads no washer has yet been invented that can get things clean at 30.

All bedding once a week, twice at this time of year. Would love it fresh every night but too eco conscious to allow myself that indulgence sadly

Every Saturday, and I always try to get to bed before DP so I can have the fresh sheets to myself for a bit.

If I dropped something on them, or one of us was ill/sweating a lot they would get an extra change.

AzraiL · 11/08/2020 17:00

Once a week, one a fortnight if I'm busy or being lazy. My pillows and quilts are washed monthly. My home is great at keeping out heat so it's not hot in summer, plus I shower at night before bed and wear clean pyjamas.

HarrietM87 · 11/08/2020 17:03

Once a week. Tbh often I think this is more than necessary, but I love the feel of clean sheets. I’d do it every day if I could be bothered!

Chickychickydodah · 11/08/2020 17:03

Weekly here, air the bed daily .

Redraptor · 11/08/2020 17:04

I try to weekly but often its every two weeks. Trying to get everyone's bedding washed in a week is hard. Pathetic I know but I hate laundry

BrunoMars · 11/08/2020 17:07

Every couple of weeks here but I am almost
50/50 at DP's so not sleeping in every night. Changing a king sized duvet cover on my own is a faff

MizMoonshine · 11/08/2020 17:12

Bedding gets stripped every Sunday morning :)

SunshineOnATrainToday · 11/08/2020 17:23

I wash mine once a week. I sometimes change pillowcases more fequently. Occasionally I leave the duvet cover 2 weeks because I have a top sheet between me and the duvet cover.

I would love fresh sheets every day, but I can't be bothered to do it and I would be concerned about cost and environmental effect.

whenwillthemadnessend · 11/08/2020 17:24

Every 3 weeks kids one weekend mine next
Weekend off.

I will do pillow cases though if they need it in between.

When my kids leave home I might do mine fortnightly. I bloody hate beds. Worst chore of all.

AlwaysLatte · 11/08/2020 17:28

People are minging on here. I buy a new bed every day and use the old wood to whack the neighbours who dare to complain about the noise of my pet mouse walking about.
Or more seriously, I change my sheets once a week.

Waytoomuch82 · 11/08/2020 17:31

It is threads like this that screamingly highlight the difference between men and women! I wish those who deny that fact would read threads like this! Grin

IdblowJonSnow · 11/08/2020 17:33

Weekly.
Once a month for kids but pillow cases more often.

MyShinyWhiteTeeth · 11/08/2020 17:45

A friend has a lot of perspiration. She literally drips with sweat when it's hot. My ex was on medication and his sweat stunk. His bedroom reeked years after he moved out.

They both needed the bedding changed almost daily. My friend would air the bed with the sheets pulled back and the windows open every morning. She'd buy a new mattress every other year. I ferbreezed my ex's room.

I think if you have lots of sex or get breakfast in bed then you need to change more often.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 11/08/2020 17:49

Every few weeks or so.

moanyhole · 11/08/2020 17:50

Weekly for the kids. Twice an week for mine as the dog hops up sometimes on the bed

MyShinyWhiteTeeth · 11/08/2020 17:50

I get very annoyed when my family insist on a clean towel every time. I have huge bath towels and everyone uses two. They get thrown on the carpet and left to go musty so they need washing.

I reuse towels and wash them once a week.

GeorgiaGirl52 · 11/08/2020 17:51

Air sheets daily.
Wash and dry all bedding weekly.
But I shower every night before bed so that helps with cleanliness.

WithIcePlease · 11/08/2020 17:52

This thread has reminded me to do them as I do them whenever this question comes up

stovetopespresso · 11/08/2020 17:54

CorianderLord · 11/08/2020 18:14

ilovesooty · 11/08/2020 18:16
