When they see you on the balcony and when they see you drive in and out the gates

Wish I was a multi millionaire too !!

OP - I wish I was staying there - sigh. Enjoy!

FredaFrogspawn · 08/08/2020 15:21

Enjoy your break! I’d flaunt it a bit too I suspect in your shoes. Smile

Shizzlestix · 08/08/2020 15:23

I did a buffet thing for the family yesterday, cool original and tangy cheese Doritos with hummus, cheese and chive and sour cream dips, along with lots of other stuff. The dc all ate strawberries, cucumber, carrots and celery! I thought that was seriously unusual.

There’s a celebrity at my yard. No-one stares. She was telling me all about her mates-all famous and who lives with whom etc. It was definitely a bit weird to hear her mentioning all these really famous people, but it’s just a normal thing for her.

I think if I lived in the Lord and Lady’s big manor house, I’d expect stares, otherwise, yes, expensive houses tend to be surrounded by other expensive houses, so hardly odd.

Whiskyinajar · 08/08/2020 15:31

I get stared at by the people opposite...especially when a visitor turns up etc. To be fair they are also growing a crop of cannabis at the moment and seem a bit paranoid about people they don’t know who visit any house which might be able to see in to their place.

I only know from gossip on the street and the fact they check out their electricity meter so much (i suspect they’ll have tampered with this )

sqirrelfriends · 08/08/2020 15:32

I once opened the door to a man flogging fish. He asked for my parents, I said "they dont live here". Then he asked for "lady of the house" (seriously), I said "that's me". I had terrible hormonal spots at the time, hair on top of my head and an old hoodie on. I think he thought I was either a grumpy teenager, or the cleaner. I was 24 or 25 at the time.

Bog standard house, albeit a largish family one. I guess I just didn't fit his perception of who he thought would live here.

Leflic · 08/08/2020 15:37

I think it sounds fun.

Hardly a stealth boast when you’ve said it’s a friends place.

DishingOutDone · 08/08/2020 15:43

@Ihopeyourcakeisshit

I was once asked out by one of The Sainsbury's, does that count?
Which one? Brent Cross? Lincoln (second biggest sainsburys in UK apparently) or are we talking Head Office?
QueSera · 08/08/2020 15:44

Yawn.

Lardlizard · 08/08/2020 15:45

Not staying in Buckingham Palace although I have been to one of the queens parties there. Which was also great !

Is that you Meghan?

Lardlizard · 08/08/2020 15:49

It’s because it’s at a seaside destination and loads of people trying to park everywhere l, that’s why it’s not secluded, because it has amazing views

I’m so jealous ! 🤣but I’m going to enjoy this 🍾🍹😎☀️

@derxa

Hilarious thread
Oh God, don't encourage or reward her.
rwalker · 08/08/2020 15:51

I've just been to home bargains does that count

Wegslyana · 08/08/2020 16:00

Lazysundayafternoons · 08/08/2020 16:02

Can you share a picture of the view?

Chickychickydodah · 08/08/2020 16:06

Wow , let’s boast today 😡

daisychain01 · 08/08/2020 16:09

So, knowing there are people who are on furlough, or on the list for redundancy and knowing that there are millions of people who have lost loved ones to coronavirus and haven't been able to mourn them properly or that there are people who are anxious that their children may not be at school in Sept, still doesn't matter to you and you feel the need to post a pointless thread that nobody actually cares about.

Says so much about the shallowness of some people ....

daisychain01 · 08/08/2020 16:11

Some people can post any old crap, it doesn't make it either true or important or interesting.

Pickles89 · 08/08/2020 16:13

If you put your clothes on people would probably stare less.

rollerbootgirl444 · 08/08/2020 16:15

@DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult

I live in a council house and get started at by the weirdos across the road 🤷‍♀️
Not too sure whether to laugh at this or not, but what a brilliant response Smile
rollerbootgirl444 · 08/08/2020 16:17

@goingtotown

Why would you be driving in & out of the gates, if you’re there for the weekend? Gotcha.
Maybe she's looking for the paps?
ChardonnaysPetDragon · 08/08/2020 16:25

Just wave at them.

Ordinary people like that. It'll make their day.

NiceGerbil · 08/08/2020 16:32

What's the problem with the op?

Weird.

Also the idea that normal people are never near v expensive houses 😁

It's mixed where we live and loads of normal people go past really expensive houses on walks, get to station, school etc

I have a little groccle even though I've lived here all my life Grin

lilgreen · 08/08/2020 16:32

Enjoy op! Tell us all about it, what are the facilities like?

lilgreen · 08/08/2020 16:34

Some nasty people on here. I read it that the op is excited to be staying there but perhaps hadn’t worded it well.
