When they see you on the balcony and when they see you drive in and out the gates

Wish I was a multi millionaire too !!

I do admit I have a bit of a nose at those mega yachts when I am at a marina

As for houses I glance into everyone’s house if it’s dark and the lights on & the curtains are open - I do find it fascinating to see how people have decorated

Cookies2523 · 08/08/2020 13:53

You really have made all the green-eyed monsters wake up today! Lol! I am really envious of you. Wish your friends were my friends! Enjoy your weekend & savour every minute.

Lindy2 · 08/08/2020 13:54

Yeah. I find the same.

Livedandlearned · 08/08/2020 13:54

I'm not jealous, just pointing out that the staring people are either not people living in that area or they are wondering what OP is doing there.

I am happy with my lot, l love my life at the moment. I don't start goady threads either though.

jessstan2 · 08/08/2020 13:56

I don't suppose people stare at you any more than they stare at anyone else unless the owners of the house are Famous People.

It is a fact that people do stare and take note, witnessed by many threads on Mumsnet in which people notice what their neighbours do, buy and how often in the space of a week plus discuss with other neighbours. Rich people are not immune to that.

I would have thought there would have been a long enough drive or some trees to obscure view of people on the balcony but obviously not.

They are not looking at you, just being nosy about anyone who is there. Pay no attention. It's the same if you live in a council house.

OhToBeASeahorse · 08/08/2020 13:57

You start the weirdest threads.

Name5532 · 08/08/2020 14:00

This really doesn’t make sense! Other houses must be of same or possibly more value. I think this is what people were talking about yesterday about fake threads.

Look Megan it’s time you and Harry got a job and stopped sponging off others.

LEELULUMPKIN · 08/08/2020 14:01

My v.wealthy BFF had this when she first moved into her most recent home

She thought the neighbours thought they were admiring her flash house and staring.

Turns out they thought her and her Husband were the Caretaker and Cleaner!

Name5532 · 08/08/2020 14:02

@Handsoffisback is not jealousy! It’s the fact if this was real and not a windup she wouldn’t be posting on mumsnet about it! She would be enjoying herself now

@KaptainKaveman - my grammar is exceptional but I only live in a small detached house with very little luxury. What am I doing wrong? Grin

They're just being a bit nosey, I would look too. I'm always wondering what kind of people live in the amazing houses I sometimes drive past.

motorcyclenumptiness · 08/08/2020 14:08

Is your friend the pope?

@DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult

I live in a council house and get started at by the weirdos across the road 🤷‍♀️
That made me laugh. I know how you feel Grin
AcrossthePond55 · 08/08/2020 14:10

Nah, mate. They were looking at your car and wondering why the help was going in through the front gates instead of round the back.

At least, that's what I always thought when I went to my sister's posh gated community (in the US).

Crinkle77 · 08/08/2020 14:10

I live near a popular beach and the road leading up to it is full of multi million pound houses where a lot of footballers live. Loads of riff raff use that road to get to the beach. I like to look at the nice houses and if I see anyone going in or out will look to see if it's anyone famous. So it's not just other rich people that use that road like other posters have mentioned.

NorthernBirdAtHeart · 08/08/2020 14:10

Don’t be silly, they’re staring because you’re staring at them, desperate to be noticed.

Your friend is Rihanna and you are staying at no1 Sandy Lane Barbados. I'd look too!

Teal99 · 08/08/2020 14:13

Blimey, lots of people pissing on your chips (triple cooked of course). Enjoy your weekend and ignore the mardy old sides.

Teal99 · 08/08/2020 14:13

Sods, they are mardy old sods, not sides
