When they see you on the balcony and when they see you drive in and out the gates

Wish I was a multi millionaire too !!

Glad you had a good time op. Must have been fun feeling fancy Smile

HUCKMUCK · 10/08/2020 10:20

Bloody hell, what weird set of reactions to a perfectly reasonable OP. Is that reverse snobbery or something?

There is a very expensive and exclusive gated community near to us and you can walk along the back of it on the seafront. People are always trying to get a peak at the lovely houses. Most are well obscured by clever planting but you can get the gist of how nice they are.

Glad you had a lovely time - it's nice to be able to go to someone else's house and enjoy it rather than it making you feel shit about your own place.

Goinghometocallie · 10/08/2020 10:24

This thread has done me over. The jealousy oozing out of these people is insane and it’s not even her bloody gaff! It could have been an interesting thread but like everything in this World it’s been hacked my the mentally deranged.

Shalaalaa · 10/08/2020 10:25

We stayed in a council house on Airbnb, it was a bit of a surprise - it had been described as a townhouse - not a terrace in the middle of a pretty rough housing estate - I felt very stared at too!

userd · 10/08/2020 10:26

Particularly as the OP made it very clear it wasn't her place.

Of course people stare at big expensive houses, cars etc. It's disingenuous to pretend otherwise.

Frownette · 10/08/2020 10:44

I sometimes think what a beautiful house but try not to look for too long

CorianderLord · 10/08/2020 10:46

Lol the two million pound house near me is a four bed semi detached.

Depends where you live I suppose

userd · 10/08/2020 10:51

@CorianderLord where do you live that a 2m plus home is not nice?

I live in London in a 1.2m bog standard terrace but they are attractive houses in a nice area or a nice road. All the neighbours look when newbies move in as we couldn't afford it these days! It's unusual even in a London for multi million pound homes which is what the OP said to not look attractive.

Seeleyboo · 10/08/2020 10:53

Maybe they are staring at the new riff raff that's appeared in their neighbour's house. Pppffhhaaa

Fuzzywig · 10/08/2020 15:23

I get people looking at me wherever I go too. I guess they must be jealous of the lifestyle they believe I am living too whilst staying at friends mansion. Arn't we so lucky?

reminds me I need to put my clapped out banger in for it's mot soon.

Shedpaint · 10/08/2020 15:30

@Lardlizard are you in sandbanks?

Because I always have a potter by all the posh houses on the road to the ferry when there’s a huge queue to get across and I definitely stare at the balconies and clock who is going in and out Grin
Have to say though some of them just don’t seem that amazing for the price. Like they are great houses and all but for 3m in Lancashire you could get something MUCH much bigger!

Be careful, be very careful.

Someone somewhere will be dribbling over your rusty wheels and bent rear view mirrors.

Now if you'll excuse me there was a particularly fine lamppost nearby that I need to admire one more time...

BrandyandBabycham · 10/08/2020 15:34

Huckmuck it’s peek not peak

MumsyMumIAmNot · 10/08/2020 15:57

I would love that. I need to work harder so I can be a millionaire (never happening I'm lazy and hate work).

purpleboy · 10/08/2020 16:09

Hope you had a fab time. Sounds like you had a lovely weekend.

HUCKMUCK · 10/08/2020 16:57

Huckmuck it’s peek not peak
Slow day?
KaptainKaveman · 10/08/2020 17:28

PEAK: a noun. ' The peak came into view.

PEEK: a verb. ' Peek through the keyhole and tell me what you see.

PIQUE: also a verb. ' the trailer is designed to pique their interest'.

HTH.

HUCKMUCK · 10/08/2020 22:14

HTH not hugely. Sometime people aren’t idiots, they just make a minor mistake.

Petlover9 · 11/08/2020 17:02

What does " HTH" mean please

ListeningQuietly · 11/08/2020 17:16

What does " HTH" mean please

Hope that helps Smile

Usually said in a genuinely helpful way, other times posters have been known to say in a nobbish sarcastic way lol

Redhair23 · 11/08/2020 23:29

Very nobbish way that they mistakenly think is witty. It’s not, HTH Smile.
