Thank you! NOW I can join in!

@Ibake

Y'know *@Teal99* we're a pretty inclusive bunch on here and support a wide variety of views but I'm not sure how we feel about a non aubergine fan joining our ranks. What do we think AD's? Shall we let her in or is that a step too far?!
I'm sure Teal99 will.enrich our discussions in some other way. Gardening or baking tips perhaps.
Ibake · 08/08/2020 18:41

Lol @Teal99. You're pushing your luck now!!

Ibake · 08/08/2020 18:42

She can definitely win me over with baking tips @countrygirl99

Ibake · 08/08/2020 18:43

Ironic that our thread title, which Dowser has asked MN to edit as we were worried about it, seems to have drawn in lots of lovely new AD's. Welcome all!

WouldBeGood · 08/08/2020 18:44

I’m a fan of both penises and aubergines 😃

NothingIsWrong · 08/08/2020 18:47

Aubergines are the bomb. I love them :-)

chocolatesweets · 08/08/2020 18:48

Checking in

Ibake · 08/08/2020 18:51

At the same time @WouldBeGood?

CruCru · 08/08/2020 19:17

Here is the garlic I pulled up this week.

CruCru · 08/08/2020 19:18

No aubergines though.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 08/08/2020 19:19

Aubergine is lovely. Still coveting the aubergine / goats cheese / honey dish described a few threads back. Penis... Meh! Grin

Polkadotties · 08/08/2020 19:21

Not a fan of aubergines in stuff. I like them griddled and served simply with olive oil, garlic and salt mmmmmm

Willow2017 · 08/08/2020 19:21

I better step away tonight
In a really bad place. First part of day great, 2nd part not so.good. not 1st world problems just life in general. Don't want to be a fun sponge. Will just get pissed on wine on my own for tonight. Havent done that for a long time.

KBO.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 08/08/2020 19:22

@Willow2017 please don't go - keep talking to us. We're here, we're listening. Fun sponge away, we don't mind. Un-mumsnetty hugs.

dingit · 08/08/2020 19:25

I had my temperature taken when I went for my smear test. As dd pointed out they were worrying about the wrong end Grin

ISaySteadyOn · 08/08/2020 19:28

@Willow 2017, what SirSamuel said.

torydeathdrug · 08/08/2020 19:30

Hang in there @Willow2017

I’m having a liquid dinner too x

KnobChops · 08/08/2020 19:33

Checking in. Had day by self as needed to work so DH and DD went out. Did a bit of shopping in a too empty to survive indoor centre after work and then tube home. It was excruciating, so hot. Went through 4 masks as they were all soaked. On tube home mad woman was shouting at unmasked youth to stay 2m the hell away from her (healthy looking 10 year old) child. Mother and child constantly touching their own masks the whole journey, of course.

Also went cinema and sat in air con which was bliss, but only a handful of punters and only one new film for people over the age of puberty.

Poor teenage DD was turned away from ear piercing yesterday as her temp (forehead gun) was 37.2c. That’s a normal temp said I (nurse) - was after lunch and 37c outside- but they wouldn’t have it! Fixated with 37 being the upper limit normal from google or summat. When we went to a hotel the other week the chap at the door was recording all sorts of levels of hypothermia incompatible with life! But as long as below 37c... this is the problem with non medical personnel doing random checks. Plus a lot of people don’t get a fever, or for very long. You’d be better to do a proper screening tool with questions.

ISaySteadyOn · 08/08/2020 19:40

@KnobChops, temps of hypothermia incompatible with life? We are in the Zombie Apocalypse then? Wink

WouldBeGood · 08/08/2020 19:47

@Ibake if there’s honey and goats cheese

WouldBeGood · 08/08/2020 19:48

@Willow2017 don’t go.. need support in Scotland

torydeathdrug · 08/08/2020 19:49

@KnobChops oh no poor dd ... I had a piercing on Thursday & they take temperatures - their max is 37.5 - I had a chat with the studio manager about how unreliable it is (uncalibrated, unreliable sign anyway etc - I’m a medic!) ... also that people could just take a couple of paracetamol an hour before & they’d never know. Anyway as someone prone to flushing (peri menopause!) I had a moan, he sort of agreed with me & but their main reason for doing it is to reassure people 🤷‍♀️ ... I arrive at temperature checking places half an hour early with a bottle of iced water!

KnobChops · 08/08/2020 19:53

“You’re ok 28c” I heard him say.

torydeathdrug · 08/08/2020 19:54

Oh I encountered a pavement leaper today! They are relatively rare atm but concerning - I have a horror of witnessing one of them being flattened by an HGV as they throw themselves into the road to avoid a fraction of a second of breathing shared air!
