I've just been for a wander around the rest of MN. What was I thinking. I knew I should have read my book instead.

If this is true Mission Creep just hit the accelerator full throttle.

"Fines for refusing to wear a mask could reach a maximum of £3,200 and illegal rave organisers face a £10,000 penalty"

The penalties for killing someone by drunk/drug driving dont come anywhere near this.

We're good to go on the deflowering, phallic aubergines and a random bit of Douglas Adams. Grin

Thank you for your support everyone - I was thinking that I would maybe stay and just stick to this thread. I don't understand why people think it's ok to be so rude and nasty to others. It's not even as if i said 'hey, we're going anyway and we're not going to bother about quarantining'. As you say, we are planning to operate totally within the guidelines. We have largely stuck to the Roolz - maybe met in groups of 8 or 10 now and then but always outside in the garden and I haven't hugged anyone except my two daughters and my two grandaughters since March so it's not as though as I'm a walking Covid super-spreader out to infect as many people as possible.

I hate what this country has become and how some people seem to think it's now acceptable to be so judgey and rude and aggressive to others. It makes me sad

Reported as a personal attack.

It's the whole purity cycle thing again. It's not enough to follow the actual rules, you have to follow the secret, extra ones. Hmm

And do it with a smile on your face as well.

Teal99 · 14/08/2020 09:29

I wonder if we should put in a bulk order for this for all of us.....

@IAintentDead

Gin is a necessity - so is baking gin

but it's red wine that has got me through

That sentence could have done with an old comma. Damn not being able to edit.

A (baking) gin that tasted like cakes I would definitely be on board with.

@99victoria

My son is getting married in France in 5 weeks times and I have just been on the France Quarantine thread to say that we are still planning to go for 4 days (booked last September), that we are planning to do the 2 week quarantine and that I am arranging alternative insurance cover with a company who will cover us against FCO advice. In response, one ot the lovely MNers has called me 'a nasty and idiotic waste of oxygen'. Time to leave MN i think........
I count that as a win!

If their only response is name calling it tells us a lot about them and nothing about you.

Stick around here, we're safe.

Well mostly. One of us resorted to name calling the other day on one of the threads with idiotic fear mongering posts.

Justgivemewine · 14/08/2020 21:28

Goodness you ladies don’t half chat a lot 😁

I rely on you lot for a sanity check on what’s happening in the world as I’ve given up watching the news, I have no idea what most of the current guidelines are except mask wearing, sod that, Amazon is my friend.
I saw a woman driving alone wearing one a yesterday. 🤯
