How much fruit and veg have you had today?

An 80g serving of fresh fruit or veg and a 30g serving of dried fruit counts as one of your 5 a day.

Spinach (half portion)
Tomato and Bean soup (1 portion)
1 quarter cantaloupe melon (1 portion)
Carrots (half portion)
Hummus (quarter portion)
Celery (quarter portion)
Cauliflower (one portion)
Brussels sprouts (one portion)

That's 5 and a half portions and I don’t think I can fit any more in. I’m trying to get to 7 portions per day.

I ate 50 nasturtium flowers as they are self seeding out of control so I am trying to pick the flowers before they go to seed.

I had a quesadilla for lunch with homemade vegetarian chilli which for counts for 1 portion plus half an avocado.
Dinner was homemade vegetarian bolognese which is basically all vegetables and a small side salad so probably 2/3 portions for dinner.
Nearly at 5, been a rubbish day food wise for my 5.

No idea of quantities really, but I had a salad for lunch with about 8 kinds of veg in it, plus an apple. About to have chicken with veg chilli for dinner - which will have onions, aubergines tomatoes, courgettes, peppers, garlic, carrots, celery and butter beans in it (but not 80g of each), followed by strawberries and cream.

That's an unusually good day for me tbh. Plus I'm feeling virtuous because I did a 4hr walk including a 725m ascent. Grin

Breakfast: 1 banana, 1 nectarine (2 portions?)

Lunch: salad made with blue cheese, pear, celery, grapes and lettuce (probably about 2 portions altogether)

Supper: prawn and mushroom risotto served with broccoli and peas (2 portions)?

Drink: apple juice (1 portion)

So probably 7, but too much fruit and not enough veg!

three apple slices
handful blueberries and couple raspberries
veg curry with sweetcorn, green beans, red pepper, carrot (and quorn).
I go through phases, some weeks I'm eating 7+ portions ady and then I might live on carbs for a few days (usually PMT related). I'm always trying to improve though!

I think that probably works out as 6 portions although I had a few more radishes as a snack in the afternoon which maybe pushed it up to 7.

Im trying to replace rice & potatoes with other veg so not doing to badly at the moment.

Salad at lunchtime with salad leaves, cucumber, cherry toms and gherkins.
Quorn stir fry with broccoli, beetroot leaves, onion, green beans.

oh, and a Muller fruit corner, so if I include the topping bit that's 9 Grin

I don't know how many portions. Both lunch and dinner had half the plate made up of salad (romaine lettuce, spinach, cucumber, radish, grated carrot, peppers, red onion, apple) and dinner was a portobello mushroom burger. I didn't weigh it though.

Today, the same banana and bit of dried fruit for breakfast

About 100g assorted veg in the count on us chicken chow mein I had for lunch.

Cauliflower and Sweetcorn with dinner, though I got bored of the Sweetcorn after about 50g of it.

Not a great day but I haven't eaten a lot, over all.

Orange 1 portion with breakfast, kohlrabi half portion, carrot, half portion, tomato and cucumber ( 1 portion together) for lunch as salad, cabbage, 1 portion, with tea tinned tomatoes, onion 1 portion in a sauce.

I had subway for tea with salad on so that maybe counts.
I’ve actually been trying really hard recently, but today was an off day, and I need to nip to the shop tomorrow to get more in.
