Anyone watching Panorama tonight about China and their covid cover up. Do not think I have the stomach for it. The BBC have got chinese people talking about it. DS said that is him disappeared for re education then when he saw a doctor in a trailer.

Panorams synopsis on at 7.30 pm

What began with a handful of mystery pneumonia cases in Wuhan late last year has now left more than half a million dead worldwide. Beijing says it's been open and transparent throughout, but former BBC China editor Carrie Gracie examines how it delayed reporting the initial outbreak and evidence that Coronavirus could be spread by people, andalso silenced doctors who tried to speak out. She hears from one high-level insider who believes the animal market at the centre of the Wuhan outbreak should have been treated as a crime scene, and from experts who warn that this crisis may be a dress rehearsal for an even more deadly pandemic in the future

Fucking hell - just ordered Indian from a new takeaway in town - he said he'd thrown some free stuff in... you could pack up half my house in the bloody box that's just shown up!

I predict Death by Samosas (what a way to go!)

How lovely and very generous! My brother and sister both went to Uni in Leicester I had the best curry ever there. (Disclaimer I haven't been to India...yet)
GrrrrrrArghhhhh · 27/07/2020 19:28

@DominaShantotto enjoy!

Have just ordered pizza despite best intentions of no takeaways this week after so many last week on holiday..... got too involved in recovering dining chairs this afternoon that time for away from me until DD texted me she's on her way back from skateboarding with her friends... other two kids clearly just enjoying me being busy and off their case about screen time and have left me to it!

Drivingdownthe101 · 27/07/2020 19:29

DD2 hasn’t stopped talking for the past 2 hours. She just said to me ‘mummy do you prefer pigs or walking sticks?’.

Haven’t even got any wine.

Drivingdownthe101 · 27/07/2020 19:31

Mummy, do you prefer meerkats or fireplaces?
Me: meerkats
DD2: wrong answer.

Give me strength.

How their brains work is amazing.

and fireplaces or meerkats?

brilliant

CruCru · 27/07/2020 19:37

I have this thing we’re, whenever one of my children does that “Mummy... Mummy?... Mummy!” thing (I do say “Yes?” In response, I am not ignoring them), I tend to say “What?!? Speak!” They have told me that this is not kind.

Hello ADs, I've been awol for a couple of days because I'm now on holiday, and it's lovely being away from home again. We're on the Suffolk coast in a static caravan by the sea. The caravan park is very quiet, which is rather nice, the only downside is they haven't opened their pool which DD is a bit disappointed about. I'm currently having a bit of alone time on the beach, I've realised that having lived in each other's pockets for three months spending time with DD and DH isn't quite the same as on normal holidays and we all need our own space sometimes. This is a picture of my view right now.

Do the meerkats stand on top of the fireplaces?

CruCru · 27/07/2020 19:38

That looks awesome, BarkandCheese.

Wonderful @BarkandCheese. Look at that rainbow in the sky!!

Totally get what you mean about wanting time away from the family. That goes so much against the grain of what family holidays are meant to be. But after the past few months, space away from each other is exactly what's needed for family bonding

Drivingdownthe101 · 27/07/2020 19:41

I don’t know, but i was just asked ‘if you could do any job in the world, would you rather be a bumble bee or a rabbit tamer?’.

Think it’s bedtime Grin.

Ooh lovely!
Ibake · 27/07/2020 19:42

How lovely @barkandcheese Hope you have a lovely time.

Best question my DS ever asked me was 'how many ants do you think it would take to fill your entire body'. He was about 5 at the time.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 27/07/2020 19:50

@Ibake and @Drivingdownthe101 my all time favourite with DS was a game of eye spy...

"I spy with my little eye, something beginning with purple"

Willow2017 · 27/07/2020 19:56

Just catching up but can't keep up!
Am too tired as work went crazy today so many people!! Never stopped. Hopping its quieter tomorrow.

Rain and wind and more rain today. Oh and a flat tyre after work. Fed thanks life, it just keeps kicking me to bits.😤
Had a peep on other threads 😲 nope just ftfo not even getting close to that rabid selfish bullying and sneering. Its utterly mind boggling how people have turned into screeching haters in such a short time.

Orangeblossom78 · 27/07/2020 20:05

Helena that's rubbish about the gallstones. I have heard of that before. Hope you are OK now.

Aslo on crash diets they are not meant to be good for immunity. We need protein, and nutrients for the immune system.

HeIenaDove · 27/07/2020 20:15

Ta Orange yes im fine now Flowers And you are spot on about protein and nutrients.

TheOrchidKiller · 27/07/2020 20:22

Hopefully made it just before the thread runs out.

@Drivingdownthe101
"mummy do you prefer pigs or walking sticks?’."
Now that is my kind of question! How about pigs with walking sticks?!

Done the big shop with mask. Forgot the cold air by the fridges sets off my drippy nose, so that was nice. Lots of messages in Sainsburys reminding customers that not everyone in the store is able to wear a mask, so be nice about it.

Which would generally be a decent way to behave.

Saw a poster for a "Covid-Safe" Fun Fair today, which set my imagination off :

  • roll up, roll up for hook-a-duck with 2m long sticks!
  • win a 9 pack of toilet roll, or a giant cuddly penguin which has been dipped in disinfectant & hung up in a bag to dry!
-have a go on the dodgems! No cars, just navigate the course & leap out of the way if anyone comes remotely close!

We have a massive fair (or Fayre) here every autumn. The crowds are huge & it rakes in shed-loads of money for the council & people owning the rides & stalls. How they will socially distance it I don't know. I haven't been for years but used to work nearby, & it will be really odd to not have the aroma of doughnuts, mushy peas with mint sauce & cock-on-a-stick. (The last one doesn't have an aroma, I just wanted to say "cock-on-a-stick". It's been a long day & some immaturity is required before bedtime).

Orangeblossom78 · 27/07/2020 20:23

I have just got a milkman! So with online weekly shop no more going to local shops with the mask at all!

I feel free!

TheOrchidKiller · 27/07/2020 20:27

Did you watch Father Ted, OrangeBlossom? I hope your milkman isn't Pat Mustard, with his enormous tool? (Sorry, lowering the tone again)

IAintentDead · 27/07/2020 20:36

@Drivingdownthe101

I'd love to put those three questions on FB, with no explanation and just see what response I got.
