But I agree @ineedaholidaynow you can`t fix stupid ;)

ineedaholidaynow · 27/07/2020 14:42

That is what I am saying they have now been warned. But you said you were arguing with your OH because one of you thought it was just the COVID bit that was invalid

DominaShantotto · 27/07/2020 14:45

Someone seriously needs to get DD1 to realise you don't need to shout to be heard down the internet on skype calls.

Drivingdownthe101 · 27/07/2020 14:51

@DominaShantotto

Someone needs to tell DD2 that you don’t have to shout for the person next to you to hear you Grin. I took her to have her ears tested once as she shouts so much. Hearing is fine... she’s just fucking loud!
Dowser · 27/07/2020 14:53

@SpnBaby1967
My dil has a covid sounding cough
She gets a winter cough from September through till May and this year it hasn’t lifted at all got worse if anything
She’s had a load of xrays and all is clear ..so no cancer Which is good.
I was on the phone talking to her the other day and every other sentence she had to pause for a hard tight cough

I had one similar when we came back from Tenerife in March , dowsed it’s as a fungus, made the appropriate remedy and it’s gone

Dowsers the remedy for my dil and found it was suitable and asked mr Dowser to check my findings.
He agreed with me
So I made the remedy and she’s barely coughed since
Obviously it’s early days , but I suggested she might have the fungus as well as whatever causes the winter cough

However, you can’t go into the drs and say I think I might have aspergillus glad us, but you could maybe ask to check for a fungus.
Thankfully the drs are now going to check my dil for allergies , but when I don’t k ow
I think she’s glad for a bit of respite for now.
I’ve been brewing and drinking my own colloidal silver for three months now and I definitely think it’s helping me healthwise..although I’m still very much in the trial stage..I’m giving it 6 months

However, I did suggest to dil that she buy a little rechargeable mister and I’ll give her the cs to mist into nose , and mouth for lungs.
I got one for just over £10 on amazon and I use it when out or when I e come home

Just some suggestions
I do think the way things are going we are going to have to keep a store cupboard of home remedies like apple cider vinegar, garlic, honey, Onion lemon , turmeric Etc
Essential oils like eucalyptus, lavender etc
As well as other supplements like vit d3 and k2, zinc ascorbate, the electrolytes in concentrace, I also take iodine and selenium and Vit b drops

Just seen this gem on fb. With the comment that the children can get it right so why not the adults. This apparently stemming from a teaching resources page. I have been very restrained with the family member that posted it up to now, but this finished off my patience. I took it at face value and told her on her local beach that'd give each child over 700m squared each, so I reckon they'd be ok. I also pointed out children being taught to be afraid of being out playing with other children is very worrying for their mental health and development. I imagine she'll be really cross with me now, but I couldn't leave it uncommented on. I did delete my public comment and send it in a message in the end though.

I'm more concerned about DS1's pants. He hates having to put clean fresh ones on every day and I don't have a 100% sucess rate on checking and remembering against what he wore the previous day.

Ds went through a phase of that - stopped now - though did have MIL thinking it was some kind of moral failing on my part when he was stopping with them and not changing despite having no contact with me that week and having made sure he'd packed some - my reponse of tell him to or should I rather than dissolving in a puddle of shame flummoxed her a bit.

Same with socks - they have socks on it's fine - prefer clean ones but if they don't match I don't care. It's amazing how many people get worked up about other people's none matching socks and seem to see it a parenting fail and don't get why you just shrug.

Having a really nice time right now. We’ve had back to back houseguests and some really good friends are here.

justasking111 · 27/07/2020 15:00

I have no idea whether my boys changed their pants socks daily, with three of them it was still a huge pile of washing every week. My main worry was matching up sock sizes. Grin

Sounds fab!

Shared the Usforthem stuff on the covid section and been already given abuse. Called a "Karen' and told they are 'wankers' kind of sad really

I was about to comment but the thread was deleted before I got chance!
ineedaholidaynow · 27/07/2020 15:10

@Drivingdownthe101 I had DS's hearing tested when he was younger as he didn't seem to be able to hear me, his hearing was fine he was just ignoring me!

Although it did mean I missed a perforated eardrum once as I just thought he was doing his usual ignoring thing

Orangeblossom78 · 27/07/2020 15:11

Now the post has been deleted and reported! Goodness someone didn't like to hear that did they. Said they had a petitions area but didn't move it there...

Orangeblossom78 · 27/07/2020 15:13

Thought we had free speech on MN. Possibly not

Orangeblossom78 · 27/07/2020 15:16

Oh well, you can read it if you want to. I was ultra polite too.

BogRollBOGOF · 27/07/2020 15:16

The tone that the dementors started up with, it was going to be swiss cheese with more holes than a sieve. I'd already hit the report button for the Karen comment.

Honestly it’s ridiculous. You didn’t even give an opinion, just put the post up for info. Some people are just looking for a fight.
TimeForLunch · 27/07/2020 15:20

@Orangeblossom78 can't believe how quickly that was taken down! I really hope those who commented are not representative of society as a whole. Up until recently I was confident children would not be made to wear masks at school. Scary.

TheGreatWave · 27/07/2020 15:21

glitter You also need to (in good MN style) tell her that she needs to talk to him about to, too and two and also that there was only baby goats involved no need to worry about covid-19.

Orangeblossom78 · 27/07/2020 15:21

Makes you wonder that the reaction could be if they did all get told to wear masks...I find it quite concerning the vitriol around masks at the moment, people with disabilities being abused etc.

justasking111 · 27/07/2020 15:22

Covid deaths - England 10 Scotland, Wales, NI, 0. That is continuing good news I would think.
