I'm more concerned about DS1's pants. He hates having to put clean fresh ones on every day and I don't have a 100% sucess rate on checking and remembering against what he wore the previous day.
Ds went through a phase of that - stopped now - though did have MIL thinking it was some kind of moral failing on my part when he was stopping with them and not changing despite having no contact with me that week and having made sure he'd packed some - my reponse of tell him to or should I rather than dissolving in a puddle of shame flummoxed her a bit.
Same with socks - they have socks on it's fine - prefer clean ones but if they don't match I don't care. It's amazing how many people get worked up about other people's none matching socks and seem to see it a parenting fail and don't get why you just shrug.
I'm at the parenting stage of where as long as they have a sock on each foot, I'm good with that! DS1 favours one inside out, possibly on his bigger foot.
I need to get some seamless socks.
They're also due a mass upgrade as they are now on size 13 shoes and some of the 9-12s are getting snug.
I recounted a few threads ago about how DS2 wore DS1's shoes to school as he'd left his in the football bag in school... then DS1 was struggling to articulate the shoe situation to DS2's teacher...
DS2's report made me laugh as it featured the word "photo"... I picked DS2 up last autumn and his teacher was very peed off as DS2 had missed umpteen instructions from various members of staff about which line to join for his individual photos after the sibling picture. It wasn't until the proofs were given out at the end of the day that it became apparent that DS2 did not have a picture. He was both displeased with DS and clearly nervous that I'd kick off about not having a picture of my precious darling, and looked relieved that my displeasure was focused on DS2 not focusing on he was told. Fortunately that incident shortly after parents evening seemed to focus him for a few months until Covid struck. Goodness knows what he'll be like in y3 after 5.5 months in his own (mostly happy) world at home...
His class is really young as well. Over half haven't been to school since they were 6 as there's a huge imbalance between a cluster of autumn borns then less than a handful before April.
