Ignore those that say it is harmless. It is a certa mors anguis

Not only is their venom deadly, they also shoot lasers form their eyes and can make themselves temporarily invisible

What else would you like op to say other than 'snake in garden'?????

thunderthighsohwoe · 10/07/2020 21:25

@Snakeomg We’ve had invasion of wasps today - seven in total despite all the windows being closed all day. I can’t even bring myself to think how they’re getting in.

I’m aware that a phython is a super scary animal but can we swap please? I’m a wuss about wasps 😩

@IwishIhadaMargarita

If you're scared of slithery things to the point you want a trigger warning why would you click on a thread that clearly says it's about a snake?! 😂

KitMarlowesCodpiece · 10/07/2020 21:28

@IwishIhadaMargarita It's literally called 'snake in garden'. How much more explicit could OP have been?

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 10/07/2020 21:31

Its a pet, definitely not native. Think its a python. They're usually pretty laid back, just pick it up.

pandafunfactory · 10/07/2020 21:32

Great thread. Bad luck on the escape op.

And yes no trigger warning needed when a thread talking about a snake is about ........a snake.

anappleadaykeeps · 10/07/2020 21:37

Do you by any chance have a 'bell pull' by your bed, or more likely a pull cord light switch in your bathroom?

I recall a Sherlock Holmes story, where a poisonous snake crawled down a cord and killed the person asleep in their bed....

IwishIhadaMargarita · 10/07/2020 21:42

There are pictures I.’did like to know that there will be a fucking snake photo as I said even pictures of them are a trigger for me!

sleepingpup · 10/07/2020 21:42

just wow. I'm feeling edgy sitting here on my chair and I'm not in the East of England.

Time to move house OP.

ohbloodyell · 10/07/2020 21:46

@Wolfiefan

The Gaboon is a gorgeous African viper. They snatch up their prey and suspend them in the air. Their patterning is beautiful. I wouldn't like to be near one myself.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 10/07/2020 21:47

You’re such a brave woman OP- id be bricking up every entrance to my property. Covid lockdown would have nothing on my snake lockdown. Oh and I’d post of a local forum “what prat lost their giant snake”

WhatTheThunderSaid · 10/07/2020 21:48

Ooh, I'm also in EoE! Mine's safely tucked in his viv though Grin

If it appears again and you're in my neck of the woods I'd happily come wrangling! Halo

backseatcookers · 10/07/2020 21:52

Bit high risk though clicking on a post about snakes if you're that scared of them Grin

I'm scared of spiders so if there's a thread about them I wouldn't open it because pictures or not, hearing about them makes me shudder!

dudsville · 10/07/2020 21:52

iwishihada, seriously? If snakes are triggers for you and you click on a blatant snake thread you are prepared to explore the basis of your trigger and process it.

Wolfiefan · 10/07/2020 21:54

I googled the fecking scary viper. If I have snaky nightmares it’s all your fault. Grin
Am I the only soft bugger worrying about the snake being ok? Is it going to get too cold for the snake overnight. Blush

AskingforaBaskin · 10/07/2020 21:56

@IwishIhadaMargarita 😂😂 Are you serious?

LochJessMonster · 10/07/2020 21:57

@Wolfiefan I’m sad too, a corn snake is not made for our environment. She’s going to get ill if she’s not found soon Sad

I used to be the same as you. I still don't like the pictures, but as a child I couldn't even hear the word without having a panic attack. (I had some exposure therapy so I can deal with the word and the pictures a little bit better now!) I clicked at my own risk.
MrsGrindah · 10/07/2020 21:58

Jesus I’m nit going to sleep now. Why did I read this thread?! Please tell me OP that you are nowhere near Leeds?

FedUpofLockdown123 · 10/07/2020 21:59

I'm terrified of snakes and hate looking at photos of them but when I saw the title I couldn't stop myself clicking on it even thought I knew there would be photos. Morbid curiosity I guess Hmm. Whenever I wake up during the night for the toilet I worry in case one jumps out and bites me Blush.

SpinningLikeATop · 10/07/2020 22:00

MrsGrindah Leeds is safe! OP is in the East of England. You can rest easy, unlike us who are there
Grin

InTropicalTrumpsLand · 10/07/2020 22:06

For those wondering how to tell if it is dangerous, I'd say it being an albino is rather telling. Albinos rarely make it in the wild, because albinism hinders their chance of camouflage so it is vulnerable to predators and easily spotted by prey.

Having said that, I wouldn't recommend handling it. Maybe it is one of the morons who buy from international traffic and lost a Naja kaouthia...

MrsGrindah · 10/07/2020 22:07

Thank God. I’m still not sticking my feet out of bed tonight though just to be sure!

Papergirl1968 · 10/07/2020 22:08

I’m safely in the Midlands.
Nevertheless I have my legs up on the sofa in case Op’s slithery friend hitchhikes...
