I’m thinking it can’t get on a bus without a mask.....

Snakeomg · 10/07/2020 22:11

Errr, if you have a snake phobia, perhaps don’t click on a thread about them. Trigger warning indeed 😂

thunderthighsohwoe my windows are clamped shut too. I’m also having to accompany ddog into the garden incase it comes back. I could have sworn ddog looked self conscious doing her business under watch earlier.

WhatTheThunderSaid Putting you on my speed dial now Wink

But we have to click on it to make sure it’s nowhere near us! It’s like saying “ If I say the word elephant don’t think of an elephant “ Impossible not to do it!

East of England

Oh that's just fucking spiffing @Snakeomg. 😮😮😮 So no sleep for me tonight then. Where's your nearest city or big town? For the love of God I hope it's bloody miles from me ...

GiantKitten · 10/07/2020 22:35

@IwishIhadaMargarita

There are pictures I.’did like to know that there will be a fucking snake photo as I said even pictures of them are a trigger for me!
why click on the thread at all then? You're not making sense!

It was clearly going to be talking about snakes, & when someone's got a random one in their garden it's highly likely there's going to be a pic for ID purposes Hmm

If you have snake issues, wiser to avoid snake threads in future, eh? Smile

GiantKitten · 10/07/2020 22:42

@Snakeomg, if it was quite cool where you are this evening snakey won't have gone far. They get very sluggish when they're cold.

DS2 had a corn snake for a few years & it got out several times - at least twice it found its way into a small plastic box full of socks & curled up there underneath the socks. Another time it completely buried itself in the litter in the unheated half of its tank - it was a stone-cold tight coil by the time we eventually found it. So chances are it's found a nice dark safe place to sleep in your garden.

SauvignonBlanketyBlank · 10/07/2020 22:43

Literally just googled to see of my town is classed as east of England 🐍 its not!

AdobeWanKenobi · 10/07/2020 23:09

So an OP with the name 'Snakeomg' posts a thread entitled 'omg snake in garden' and someone wants a trigger warning?

Give your head a wobble eh? 😂

FlamingoAndJohn · 10/07/2020 23:13

Here was me expecting a grass snake and ready to show of my picture and I get that!

Still, here is the grass snake that is an occasional visitor to my pond.

Ah sweet snake - hope it’s reunited with owner or somewhere safe if it’s been thrown out

Crunchymum · 10/07/2020 23:14

To be fair to @IwishIhadaMargarita they could have clicked on the thread thinking someone had posted "I think I saw a snake in my garden" as opposed to pics of an actual snake in a garden.

Let's face it, scenario A is more plausible.

I say you should have added pic in your thread title OP Grin

Crunchymum · 10/07/2020 23:15

But yeah, if you are that phobic of snakes, avoid the snake threads Blush

bettsbattenburg · 11/07/2020 03:14

The scale of hysteria on this thread is getting ridiculous....

Laserbird16 · 11/07/2020 04:12

Do you know any wizards? Could you get one to tell the snake to bugger off? Obviously check they speak parseltounge

Laserbird16 · 11/07/2020 04:17

Just RTFT...your dad isn't a wizard is he? Told the snake to ahem...leg it

It's embarrassing. That poor bloody snake.
k1233 · 11/07/2020 04:48

I came home to this in my bathroom once. Thought it was dead until it moved after a couple of pokes with the broom. Had to call a snake catcher to remove it. Turned out he was a legless lizard and the snake catcher was so excited as he seen one of this type before. Difference between snake and lizard? Lizards have ears and a different tongue. Unfortunately these types of lizards (burtons legless lizard) are frequently mistaken for baby brown snakes and killed Sad. Lizard was about 30cm long.

DerbyshireGirly · 11/07/2020 04:57

Eugh. I don't trust snake/lizard/spider people. Nor people who cycle to work, or don't own a television, or have an uncle or auntie who are younger than they are.

k1233 · 11/07/2020 05:01

Also had this lovely fellow at the back door one night - probably 3 foot long. I think my dog must have stepped on him going out the dog door as dog wasn't keen to come back inside, which is why i found snakey. He got a broom to the bottom to shoo him on his way.

Then this big guy who was across a single lane road - longer than the width of the road. I didn't want to run him over so got out of the car and found a stick to poke his tail. Silly me only thought to take a pic as he was climbing the palm tree.

In both cases I left doors wide open that snakeys could have run through - silly me! Need to close doors before engaging in snake shooing!

K1233 the snake at the back door is magnificent.
Hoping the OP’s snake is found and warmed up soon.

blueskys72 · 11/07/2020 06:36

@anappleadaykeeps

Do you by any chance have a 'bell pull' by your bed, or more likely a pull cord light switch in your bathroom?

I recall a Sherlock Holmes story, where a poisonous snake crawled down a cord and killed the person asleep in their bed....

That's just given me such a lovely memory of my grandparents' house - they did indeed have a bell pull type light switch above their bed!
k1233 · 11/07/2020 06:40

@Wolfiefan I think he lived in my roof. I quite like snakes. Don't need to handle them but don't want to see them hurt. More than happy to coexist with them.

Wolfiefan · 11/07/2020 07:11

They do frighten me. I’m not going to lie. But I have moved from being phobic to being able to see their beauty and also find them really interesting. Still glad I don’t live in a part of the world where that’s going to be in my attic. Blush

Soubriquet · 11/07/2020 08:22

@IwishIhadaMargarita

Please put a trigger warning. I have a massive phobia of anything slithery. If that turned up in my garden I’d shit myself and have a heart attack. Even photos make me feel weird. A worm was in our kitchen once and I screamed and ran out the door...blergh!
HmmHmmHmm

Argh snake in garden isn’t description enough? Not likely to be a fucking kitten is it?

And honestly, it’s harmless breed of snake.

I would have no problem picking it up but I understand some would

Megatron · 11/07/2020 08:57

The scale of hysteria on this thread is getting ridiculous....

Oh unclench, with the exception of one or two, most people are being light-hearted. I hope the snake is found and rescued, poor thing must be freezing.
