Amber Heard & Johnny Depp....Your thoughts?

I have seen this in the news over the past couple of days and wasn't really sure what to think. It sounds to me like a very volatile relationship and it may be that they are both abusers. Or at the least they are completely incompatible with each other.

Today I noticed that Amber Heard was walking into court and she had a scarf around her face. Then she removed the scarf and smiled for everyone and waved and seemed to enjoy the cameras being there. It's just an observation but maybe the accusations of her being a narcissist could be accurate? Or is she maybe trying to put a brave face on it all under what must be a very stressful situation for all concerned?

Johnny Depp kept his mask on but was also waving for the cameras I should add.

Anyway, I'm well aware it's none of my business really, it was just something I had thought about after seeing the news today and wondered what others thought!

Which of Amber Heard's ex's have accused her of abuse?

itshappened · 08/07/2020 21:29

In response to why is Kate Moss not talking... I think it's because Kate moss never talks about anything in her private life. She knew that she would be grilled about drug taking etc in her relationship with JD and she would never want to confirm or deny any of the stories and rumours about her personal life.

FrippEnos · 08/07/2020 21:30

Nobody accused the police officer of being homophobic did they?

According to subsequent newspaper reports and from the officer herself AH's ex did.

SunbathingDragon · 08/07/2020 21:30

@Uraflutteringcunt

I think Winona’s testimony is more out of date than Kate Moss’s then. She dated him before Kate did. Why is Winona’s relevant and Kate’s isn’t, unless Kate won’t be saying good things and Winona will.
I don’t think either of them have relevant testimony. I don’t think any of his ex-partners do really because they were different relationships and just because someone isn’t abusive to one person doesn’t mean they are to another.

Based purely on the recorded conversations and text messages, I think they are both abusive. Johnny seems to think not hitting a woman makes him less of an abuser but (assuming for the moment it is true that he hasn’t ever hit a woman) I don’t think it does.

SunbathingDragon · 08/07/2020 21:31

@narrowboatgirl

I wasn’t aware he had had any. Damaging property yes, but not actual assault charges. When were they?

He was arrested in 1989 for beating up a hotel security guard, and again in 1999 for beating up a paparazzo.

In 2002 he was sued for getting his bodyguards to severely physically assault a disabled university professor, and the courts found that she had a good case and gave her the greenlight to go ahead, but he offered her a large sum of money to settle out of court.

In 2018 he was sued for beating up a crew member.

Yet you also say The fact remains: Heard has never been accused of abuse by anyone she's been romantically involved with, except Depp. Surely by default, it’s the same argument both ways?

I think they are both abusers and were in a toxic relationship.

Patbutcherismyhero · 08/07/2020 21:32

Neither will come out looking good.

I think it's telling that many of his previous partners have defended him. And that he is going to these extremes to clear his name.

She sounds terrible tbh. Shitting in a bed is not the action of someone in their right mind.

Did she? I know she accused a male security guard of homophobia but wasn't aware she had also accused a female police officer.

They both sound disgusting. I would be hiding in shame if stuff like that came out about me, not waving for the cameras.

SunbathingDragon · 08/07/2020 21:35

I think they’re both as bad as each other and I think he’ll lose this court case unfortunately.

I think that even if he wins the court case, he will still lose in the long run.

SkyMoo1 · 08/07/2020 21:36

I felt compelled to check out the awful story @narrowboatgirl had of JD and an assault on a disabled university professor. Actually, JD was being sued because his security guards bear-hugged her out of a VIP section at an Iggy Pop concert - they said she was being abusive.

EveryPlanetHasAYorkshire · 08/07/2020 21:36

I posted on page 1.He has never been accused of abuse.Amber on the other hand has.

Who has accused AH of abuse?

Excluding Johnny of course.

He has already lost. He is fighting it for himself. And because he can throw the money at it.

They're actors. They enjoy attention.

I'm going by the press reports.

Uraflutteringcunt · 08/07/2020 21:38

I agree, I’ve said a few times that what VP has to say has little bearing on this case because of impartiality. But the point that exes are being called but only the ‘safe’ ones, is relevant.

Absolutely toxic relationship that did neither one of them any favours, I t hink, but I believe she was the aggressor.

Windyjuly · 08/07/2020 21:43

I listened to quite a bit of the tapes.

He sounded conciliatory, heart broken... He begged her not to go further. She said it was his people and begged him to talk to them.

She ridiculed him many times re abusing him. She admitted she couldn't promise not to get violent!

The tapes are definitely loaded agaisnt her.
However that still doesn't mean he didn't get black outs and violent without remembering.

JudyGemstone · 08/07/2020 21:45

Sorry if it's been shared already but this is a good breakdown of their recorded conversations:

m.youtube.com/watch?v=lHy1ORGQ0xM&feature=youtu.be

Apparently they often recorded their arguments as 'homework' for their couples therapy.

Based on these tapes alone, there's no doubt she is the main perpetrator. I admit I automatically believed her as the woman, then I listened to the tapes and completely changed my mind.

I now think he is a sad middle aged alcoholic and she is a narcissist. And I rarely use that word on here unlike some!

Actually, JD was being sued because his security guards bear-hugged her out of a VIP section at an Iggy Pop concert - they said she was being abusive.

It says right there in the article that they “bear hugged” her before handcuffing her, throwing her to the ground, and dragging her 40ft across the ground. Why did you remove the part about the handcuffs and being dragged across the floor, and misrepresent the situation as simply a bear hug?

Her statement - which the court green lit and found to be believable and which made Depp decide to give her a huge financial settlement - was that she was not only handcuffed, but that the action of being violently dragged across the floor caused both her arms to dislocate and for some of her clothes to be torn off exposing her naked lower half.

It goes without saying that she (and other witnesses) deny the allegation that she was being abusive, and claim that Depp simply objected to the presence of a non-famous (disabled, older) woman in the VIP area.

It’s really gross that Depp fans are trying to smear a regular woman and deny a horrific act of disableist violence, because apparently Gentle Goth Prince Johnny must be defended at all costs, and the endless list of people who have accused him of violence, witnessed violence, rumoured violence, they are ALL lying.

Fair enough to judge Amber Heard since she’s the one on trial. Leave this poor non-famous woman out of it.
