Amber Heard & Johnny Depp....Your thoughts?

I have seen this in the news over the past couple of days and wasn't really sure what to think. It sounds to me like a very volatile relationship and it may be that they are both abusers. Or at the least they are completely incompatible with each other.

Today I noticed that Amber Heard was walking into court and she had a scarf around her face. Then she removed the scarf and smiled for everyone and waved and seemed to enjoy the cameras being there. It's just an observation but maybe the accusations of her being a narcissist could be accurate? Or is she maybe trying to put a brave face on it all under what must be a very stressful situation for all concerned?

Johnny Depp kept his mask on but was also waving for the cameras I should add.

Anyway, I'm well aware it's none of my business really, it was just something I had thought about after seeing the news today and wondered what others thought!

Months!!

Does that judge work on anything else in the mean time?. Its can't imagine trying to unpick this cess pool of minuetai and then consecutively listening to more!

It's mind boggling and surely closely run.

How can one man solely un pick this? He must get a massive salary. And then I suppose there could be endless appeals?

A plague on both your houses!! 😂😂😂

I've only seen snippets of his comments but I bet he's dreading this!

prh47bridge · 22/07/2020 23:22

I believe the case ends on Friday. There is no date for the decision. That will come when the judge is ready.

MinnieJackson · 23/07/2020 03:03

I've just seen the new 'damning ' evidence against johnny pictures on the sun... Something spilt on the rug, a cracked photo on the wall, something wrong with the stairs?! And a pile of photos in frames on the floor. This is the sort of thing that is kinda normal in my house with toddlers playing ect lol, obviously it's different if they're ripped.off the wall in anger.I'm on the fence tbh, but after hearing the audio recordings and transctripts I do feel she was antagonizing him,she admitted to hitting him, called him a baby for walking away from a physical fight...they are.both in the wrong here I guessConfused

TinySongstress · 23/07/2020 11:09

They both behaved atrociously in many ways but the case is about one simple thing: did Johnny beat Amber?

SerenityNowwwww · 23/07/2020 11:25

Can you imagine them being your neighbours?

AgnesNaismith · 23/07/2020 12:18

So he admitted to head butting her on a recording? Surely this proves the NGN case?

SerenityNowwwww · 23/07/2020 12:23

Is there a legal definition of ‘wire beater’? I get the impression these two were at it like Itchy and Scratchy.

prh47bridge · 23/07/2020 12:24

@AgnesNaismith

No. He says it was an accidental clash of heads. There is also the question as to whether a single incident, even if proven, is enough to describe him as a wife beater given that the dictionary says the term refers to a man who habitually or regularly beats his partner.
AgnesNaismith · 23/07/2020 12:39

He says it was accidental afterwards....according to the sun he called it a headbutt and said it wouldn’t have broken her nose?

LetterOfTheLawFella · 23/07/2020 12:41

Just searched up Dan Wootton on google and the following came up. Grin

Weirdly it's not there when you click on the link

He did refer to it as a headbutt in the recording but maintained that it was accidental when he was trying to stop her hitting him. Her father sent him a text message in the aftermath of the alleged incident saying that he knew his daughter needed help with her temper.

But you asked if this proves NGN's case. The answer is that it doesn't. This case is going to come down to whether the judge believes, on the balance of probabilities, that Heard is telling the truth and the witnesses who have contradicted her are lying.

TinySongstress · 23/07/2020 13:24

The 'headbutt' incident was explained and backed up with a recorded conversation that she was attacking him and he grabbed her hands to stop him and they butted heads. That seems plausible to me.

The 'kick' incident is more problematic but of all these many, many claims of violence (broken nose, broken ribs etc) and injury no medical records are available, no witnesses are available, and the police and medical records contradict these claims. Who knows.

beelola · 23/07/2020 13:38

I think there's an element of truth to some of her claims but she's exaggerated and overdone it to make it seem worse but now she actually looks like a liar. Maybe he did kick her, but given that there's several accusations where she clearly has no clue what to say when the evidence proves she's being dishonest, how can you believe any of it?

AgnesNaismith · 23/07/2020 13:40

Hmmm yes the explanation seems plausible, it’s the language I wonder about - if a person accidentally clashed heads with another, would they call it a headbutt?

I also think his lateness is on purpose and really shitty and controlling behaviour. It seems the one thing he can control to piss her off in the situation he has. Knowing this morning’s evidence would be the most critical for the case he chose to rock up 15 mins before it finished after being 15 mins late every day.

ThrowawayBerna · 23/07/2020 13:56

It really is worthwhile wading through the pdfs of argument/statements and testimony transcripts*, because neither media live-tweets, subjective fan tweets or media articles can or do cover everything.

Shout-out again to www.nickwallis.com/depp-trial for those. I haven't found them elsewhere.

  • irritating pagination and all
ChicCroissant · 23/07/2020 16:11

Neither of them come off well here. It sounds like a living nightmare all round and there are no winners here.

The fact that AH couldn't answer questions without attempting to put the boot in or blame someone else might not go down well with the Judge. The legal costs in this case must be huge!

Is it really going to be months before it's all summed up!?

TinySongstress · 23/07/2020 17:03

I easily expect so given the weight of evidence, severity of claims and importance of the case- not just to the claimant/defendants but in a wider arena.

Frenchic · 23/07/2020 17:04

I’ve worked in DA for years in different roles, refuge, court process, safety planning etc.
After so many years you get a feel for who is the perp. No idea in this case, it looks like both. It seems like an unbelievably dysfunctional relationship.
