Amber Heard & Johnny Depp....Your thoughts?

I have seen this in the news over the past couple of days and wasn't really sure what to think. It sounds to me like a very volatile relationship and it may be that they are both abusers. Or at the least they are completely incompatible with each other.

Today I noticed that Amber Heard was walking into court and she had a scarf around her face. Then she removed the scarf and smiled for everyone and waved and seemed to enjoy the cameras being there. It's just an observation but maybe the accusations of her being a narcissist could be accurate? Or is she maybe trying to put a brave face on it all under what must be a very stressful situation for all concerned?

Johnny Depp kept his mask on but was also waving for the cameras I should add.

Yes. The problem is- you could be an absolutely lovely person inside. Giving, supportive, kind, gentle etc. But alcohol and drugs literally change your brain chemistry. They can cause anxiety, depression, paranoia, drug induced psychosis (saw a lot of young men on my psych ward with drug induced psychosis- very sad), other mental health issues, personality changes etc. So that gentle person when sober can act like a literal monster when on drugs. Drug addicts sometimes steal, they lie - they are the best liars in town when it comes to hiding their addiction etc so the idea that random people from JD's past are popping up to say "ah but he's a lovely bloke!" is completely irrelevant.

He might be a lovely bloke when sober, but he wasnt sober. Thats the problem.

Any reason why Vanessa and Winona aren’t?

They are believed - the court believes he was never violent with them, so they aren't being asked to confirm that. Or that's how I understood it.

Their witness statements stand and will be considered by the judge. They will be released later.

I understand QC Wass for NGN DOES want to cross examine them but as I understand it, JD doesn't want to call them as witnesses to stand in the box. I assume to protect them in some way from the absolute circus this has become.

I thought they were going to speak via video link like his housekeeper did.I think they still might , today's court session overran

Here are some excerpts from his witness statements. I knew she had BPD when I listened to her rages at him.
Posters on here warn people of love-bombing, red flags etc. Read the transcripts and witness statements in full and see if you think they’re still as bad as each other. They’re far from it. He’s a victim of domestic abuse and if she were a man, she’d be in jail for it.

@AuntMasha I saw that too. Apparently she’s asked for that to be heard in private as it’s “too distressing for public consumption” She has a dangerous mix of personality disorder, I wouldn’t put any lie past her.

Given the most recent revelations, I'm at the fact no-one in Depp's entourage (even those who said they had to pull Heard off him during repeated unprovoked attack), said they told him to LTB

I’m more shocked that she hasn’t been criminally charged. I know he’s counter-suing her and that case is in August. Does anyone know why there’s no criminal charges being brought against her, in light of all the evidence?

Re the criminal charges, if the offences occurred in the UK and Depp complained in the UK, that would be a reason to bring charges. Likewise if you change UK to US. But the police don’t have time to investigate every single thing which might be a crime without being asked and they can only investigate crimes in the UK/USA/whichever jurisdiction they are in.

I think JD may win this, how can the judge rule that there is absolute evidence He is a "wife beater" there just isn't.

Personally I think she is definitely an abuser in this relationship, however, his power and money makes me question if he is totally innocent of wrong doing. I'm sure he could cover up quite well which I think is what the Suns lawyers are angling for. Sad because if he wasn't JD she would totally be sent to prison no question.

I am not so sure he’ll win. The Sun needs to show that what is wrote is “substantially” true. I am not sure the evidence of mutual violence/toxicity negates that. Maybe he only did it because he wanted the world to know the poo story?!

I agree that I’m not sure he will win either although perhaps it was more important to him for the world to know that Amber was abusive in their relationship rather than get an apology from The Sun for being called a wife beater.

I agree with the poster who mentioned what drugs can do to the brain . It’s no coincident that most crimes are drug fuelled but I do think Johnny is telling what he believes is his truth . He is an INFP personality type and truth is a core value . So I understand that as shy and retiring as he is he wants the truth to be told. It will not be easy for him this whole court case. He wouldn’t put himself through it for any other reason?

I think the behaviour of AH surely must be enough to cast reasonable doubt on the incidents of violence - or is it not that kind of trial.

Also, yes. I suspect he wanted to make sure that everyone knew her behaviour as well.

@RunningAwaywiththeCircus there is no evidence of mutual violence. The photos of AH with marks on her face was staged- as confirmed by witnesses who saw her after the alleged “attacks” against her. There is also a video of her on the James Corden show without any marks 24 hours after “the worst beating of her life, in which she sustained a bust lip/nose and 2 black eyes”, showing various exaggerated facial expressions that she would not have been able to do with those injuries. Her stylist also confirms she saw her that day, without makeup and without any marks on her face.
