Nothing yet! He promised me a Polo lesson but I just haven't got around to it yet. I'd hoped to do it this summer but hasn't happened yet for obvious reasons...

Nothing "special" because it was my 40th, he spent the same amount as usual, didn't get a card with 40 on it, no banner or balloons, no party or special thing to celebrate. I treated him the same back on his "special" birthday six months later! Apparently they don't do special birthdays in his family and he couldn't understand why I was upset I didn't get anything extra for this milestone.

Nothing - I prefer to chose my own stuff!

A surprise long weekend in Barcelona.
I didn’t know where we were going I was just told to pack a weekend bag and I’d find out once we were at the airport.Our dd was 5 at the time and he’d sorted out for his dm to come and stay.I’d always wanted to go to Barcelona and I loved it.

I got a beautiful watch but I chose it together with DH.

It’s mine and DHs 40th this year.
DH doesn’t do birthdayS really and isn’t bothered. We don’t have loads of spare money for fancy hotels and diamonds!!! So normally something small from the kids on normal birthdays.
He was planning to go away climbing (which he does every year) and I was planning to go to New York with friends next Jan. all plans up in the air at the moment!
Also desperately trying to save for a house deposit so can’t see us buying each other any big presents anyway

Fabulous surprise trip to Dubai x

What I always wanted: to spend 3 months camping in France with our bicycles. I had to work a bit from the tent to keep business running, still it was very memorable - one of the best trips of my life.

A little over a year before our (shared) 40ths we talked about doing a big holiday to NYC and Cape Cod to celebrate, but then thought why wait, and did that for our 39ths instead.
