Name changed as this is outing, but I'd really like to know what you think about this property and the way it's being marketed please.

No. It isnt terrible but it isnt inviting

4amWitchingHour · 02/07/2020 22:19

No, there's too much that I'd want to do to the layout to make it work as a family house - en-suite is bigger than main bathroom, kitchen is small so would need to knock walls about and/or move it, even without the annex it's very bottom heavy as a house - the bedrooms look pretty small.

If it's not for a family I can see it working, but then it's a giant house for a couple.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 02/07/2020 22:19

I've just noticed that the dimensions aren't there for the master bedroom (they are for the rest of the rooms!). Upstairs the two bathrooms seem disproportionately big in relation to the size of the bedrooms.

HerRoyalNotness · 02/07/2020 22:19

They’re advertising as a 3 bed so no. But in reading the description there are 4 beds? It needs to be clear. Also get rid of the funky shelving and have a good tidy into boxes and redo the photos. I’d be interested as it has land and would love some chickens and maybe a tiny pony

ELM8 · 02/07/2020 22:20

No, we spend a lot of time in the kitchen and use it as more of a social space so the size would be an issue.. It's a lovely house but you don't seem to get much "house" for the price although it's a lovely plot.

ShirleyPhallus · 02/07/2020 22:20

It's old enough to be dated but not old enough to have any character.

Yes totally agree with this. There would be no point in redoing certain photos or decluttering because I think this is the exact house where you’d want to do a lot to it to get the interior in a desirable shape.

Agree that the proportions look odd too

goose1964 · 02/07/2020 22:20

The only thing that would stop me is the small kitchen, saying that though with so many rooms I'm sure that could be cured. Otherwise it's lovely and not at all cluttered.

WildSkitty · 02/07/2020 22:21

I can't see the room dimensions but the third bedroom looks small, the master bedroom is an odd shape because of the en suite which in my opinion is too big. It looks like one of those houses where the space downstairs and the space upstairs are mismatched. For that reason I probably wouldn't view it. I've looked at houses like that before and rejected them for that reason.

Bringmewineandcake · 02/07/2020 22:21

The interior shots were a come down considering how beautiful the exterior looked.
There seemed to be random chairs cluttering the place, even in the bathroom. And the coat stand/rail thing in the kids space is another floor cluttering object. It's been badly staged for photographs if it's your house.

Fingermoose · 02/07/2020 22:22

Yes I would if I could afford it, it's a lovely house. The bedrooms look small on the floor plan so I'd be checking those out but it wouldn't stop me booking a viewing.

Elzbells · 02/07/2020 22:23

I would view it but apart from how it looks outside and the amazing garden I would be gutting the interior and starting from scratch - which would cost a lot!

MobLife · 02/07/2020 22:23

I'd want to see a floor plan with the dimensions on, rather than having the dimensions separately in the description

How big is the master bed?

I think for a house of that size the kitchen is small, and because it's outdated along with the bathrooms I imagine it's going to attract a narrower range of buyers who are willing to do a fair bit of work on top of what is already a pretty expensive house

ChipotleBlessing · 02/07/2020 22:23

It’s not clear from the front page that there is annex potential. It needs to be listed as 4/5 bedrooms. There’s no size given for the master bedroom.

I’d view it. There’s only one wall to knock down to turn the small kitchen into a large kitchen diner. The rest of the house is a bit dated decoratively but it looks well maintained. It could be much nicer for not much money. But I don’t know the area so don’t know if the price is right.

Letthemysterybe · 02/07/2020 22:24

Ok, just had a look at similar houses in the area and I think all
Of them
Would be higher on my ‘to view’ list.

jackdaw141 · 02/07/2020 22:24

I would buy it if my research suggested I could demolish it and rebuild on site with better proportions and retain an annexe.

BelindaBl1nked · 02/07/2020 22:24

Well it's lovely and I like the outside of it and the garden. But for me, it would need updating and it looks a little cluttered in some pics. I'm also blown away by the price! I know it's Suffolk but it feels overpriced. I'm in Oxfordshire and bought a new house last year - 4 bed detached with double garage, all new inside and I thought it was a bit steep at 495k

ApolloniaVitelliCorleone · 02/07/2020 22:24

It’s a beautiful house and grounds. I would retake kitchen and the first bathroom pictures They scream updating!

RebeccaCloud9 · 02/07/2020 22:24

Again, don't know about price re area, but I would view it if I was wanting a big project. I would want to do lots to it, massive extension and remodelling plus full redecoration.

If it was in my area with that garden, I would buy it immediately!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 02/07/2020 22:25

I would intend to knock the kitchen into the sitting room off it to make one big room - you'd still have a big sitting room and dining room and the whole annexe bit.

Is the reason that it isn't advertised as a 4 bed because there's an exterior door in the 4th bedroom?

lljkk · 02/07/2020 22:25

For that amazing huge garden deffo I would be tempted to look.
Gosh, is that price typical for the area.
The bedrooms are poky but lead to that price, wow. Glad I don't have to try to live around there with those prices.
If I only needed bedrooms those kinds of sizes then fine, I wouldn't be put off.

I don't give a Fig about your decour. I don't have to live with it, do I.

RHOBHfan · 02/07/2020 22:26

@inthekitchensink

I don’t know the area, but the house is gorgeous. Can’t believe the price, that would be an extra million on top where I am Sad
I don’t live a million miles away and can’t understand why the price is so high!
PrimalLass · 02/07/2020 22:26

The photos are not great but the garden is amazing. Put the garden photos as 2 and 3.

PutBabyInTheCorner · 02/07/2020 22:26

Lovely garden and nice looking house but bloody hell it's expensive. I've no idea though, maybe that's a standard price for the area.
