I'm in Scotland too, just been on mask thread, masks are rubbish for people with hearing problems, can't lip read, muffles sound so you need to get closer or shout, shouting expels more molecules into the air so counter productive largely just been ignored but us deaf people are used to being socially isolated.

Mascotte · 02/07/2020 23:34

@TeacupDrama never mind being deaf, you can SAVE LIVES!!!

Pleased to report a couple of anti mask anti dementors irl too. Even in Scotland!

Shodan · 02/07/2020 23:34

I'm in The South (I think, on that map) The county that sounds like an apology, anyway Grin

I've been the epitome of Marvellous Mummyhood today Halo I have Baked With My Child And Made Memories. I also helped him with his drama? English? Something else? schoolwork (we watched Ferdinand, although to be fair I did nap for a bit)

I did not, however, force him outside for any kind of exercise, so a fail there.

littlbrowndog · 02/07/2020 23:38

As. Jason says. Save life’s. Ffs does he think that all Scottish people are thick as mince

Weneedmusicandtheatre · 02/07/2020 23:39

Hi. De-lurking as I have finally caught up to date in time to do so having followed since about thread 8. London based and perpetrator of several small lockdown transgressions recently including hugging my friend the other day. Not sorry. She hasn’t been anywhere and I have only been to shops so the risk is minuscule and bloody hell, she needed it. As did I.

IAintentDead · 02/07/2020 23:39

@justasking111

Oh look another bright comment.

The problem is that London do not allow Wales to have a fully functioning commercial bank (so can block competition on their door step), the banking services sector is crucial for any nation, just look at London, no wonder Wales is poor.

🤣😂😆🤣😆🤣😆😂😀 🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐

Jeez - it would be like giving the Bank of England to a toddler - no scrap that a toddler would probably do better than the BoE never mind if Wales had it's own.

littlbrowndog · 02/07/2020 23:40

Sorry teacup. I have tinnitus so feel your pain.

Ffs my country gone mad

littlbrowndog · 02/07/2020 23:43

But hopefully you will, imagine me and my 3 toddlers with our scarves on owning Tesco’s and that’s about it as Lidl and Aldi just let us get on with it.

Tesco’s here we come

Mascotte · 02/07/2020 23:43

@littlbrowndog the madness scares me. It's like being in a film.

IAintentDead · 02/07/2020 23:48

2019
Take helmets off before entering shop
Muslim face covering not allowed in shops and are repressive
Hoodies are antisocial and not allowed in shops
Anyone that covers their face is, or could be, up to no good.

2020
FFS cover your face you anti social murderer

NothingIsWrong · 02/07/2020 23:54

I wonder if this would be allowed 🤔

littlbrowndog · 03/07/2020 00:06

Walk strong mascotte.

If you see me and the toddlers in Edinburgh salute as. We don’t take prisoners

littlbrowndog · 03/07/2020 00:16

Sums it up for me.

miss the office. I miss gossiping in stairwells. Told the 3 year old to wait five minutes and then meet me on the stairs so we can bitch about the 1 year old, but she she hasn’t shown up.

@mylittleyumyum

Thanks Dowser, our Fort is pretty easy to drive in and out of, makes up for it being like a freezing wind tunnel on all but the warmest of days.
ha ha aint that the truth. But it has Primark!!! up until now too far way from us though
InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 03/07/2020 03:19

Queen Nicola is finding her audience - it full-on out there and seemingly worst amongst my islander friends.

The Fort always makes me a bit sad because of having to drive through schemes where people are dead broke, just so I can shop. I’m not usually a feeble hand-wringer, I just don’t like the equality shoved in people’s faces. Much like the bloody velodrome dumped in an area where the kids can’t afford a shit bmx. I gather it’s the same with Westfield in london though - mega-opulence shoehorned into an impoverished neighbourhood.

Congratulations @BarkandCheese - what a clever girl! Something good to come out of this shit show of an academic year.

teatea I’m glad your test was negative. I thought I’d have to go today. Freezing cold (on the couch in a winter coat and hot water bottle), cramps back and front and nauseous. Dr google said morning sickness 😂 or kidney infection. Seem ok now although the cat just stole the cheese from my crackers.

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 03/07/2020 03:20

So many SPaG errors. Must be my phone.

Allnamesaregone · 03/07/2020 05:21

In Scotland we’ve been through the worst of the infection without compulsory masks in supermarkets and now when it’s almost zero we have to wear them. I can’t see me choosing to go round the regular shops any time soon and I suspect a lot will be the same. Our economy is slowly going down the pan, and our vital tourist trade is becoming tainted with anti- English sentiment. And so the independence thing rears it’s head again....

Allnamesaregone · 03/07/2020 05:29

*its

incognitomum · 03/07/2020 05:46

@Dowser I've collected sea glass at Seaham. I found a small jar full at Blackhall yesterday and the night before. I found a beauty and gave it to a friend I was walking with but she lost it on the way back. She was gutted.

Have you seen Seaham waves, sea glass jewellery?

LivinLaVidaLoki · 03/07/2020 05:51

North west

I think following the Leicester debacle they have tinkered with the figures again as our local authority has had an increase of 400 odd since yesterday. We've been pooling along at 0 or 1 cases for weeks now.
God this shit show is fucking depressing.
The national total of figures was only 529.

That's what I dont get. If there was any point to masks (other than coaxing anxious people out), why just start with them now?

I'm North west by the way x would love a meet up!

NannyPhlegm · 03/07/2020 06:35

Well done to your daughter @BarkandCheese

@justasking111 There is a lot of independence chest-thumping here too, sometimes with people I would never have suspected in a million years!

This whole thing has the feel of a surreal never ending nightmare. I keep hoping I'll wake up.

And, yes, I'm in beautiful Wales Grin

ISaySteadyOn · 03/07/2020 06:40

Another Londoner here. Maybe we should rent a field somewhere and hold an AD festival Smile

Worldgonecrazy · 03/07/2020 06:43

One fun thing with masks. The ‘yoof’ where I live, pre lockdown, would pull up their hoodies and wear scarves across their faces in a semi gangsta style. Now it just looks normal so the same youths are wearing hoodies down And no masks to be rebellious!
