Here's a new thread for discussing aircon, aubergines, and Goth music.

Maybe I'll risk it then lethargic. It's an extra 10 min walk though and it's supposed to be hot still here so will see (do love a lidl trip)

NothingIsWrong · 24/06/2020 19:14

Not so "D" H is still going on.

Fucking twat.

I'm really fucking miserable now.

Mascotte · 24/06/2020 19:15

Oh @OhFuckOffWithTheBubbleBollocks please start a thread about masks and lipstick! It's only in here I've been brave enough to say that 😂

Mascotte · 24/06/2020 19:16

Hence am awaiting the arrival of Outlaw along with the anti vax affidavit

TuckMyWin · 24/06/2020 19:18

I think the Guardian is grasping now, on the doom and gloom front:

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/jun/24/fears-national-parks-in-scotland-and-wales-will-be-overrun-as-lockdowns-eased

"It's a bit of a perfect storm, potentially". Or, potentially, perhaps it's not Grin

Mascotte · 24/06/2020 19:19

@peaceanddove I bought a nespresso vertuo machine for £79 including 100 capsules. It's bloody great.

MaudesMum · 24/06/2020 19:20

@Littlebelina and @LethargicLumpOfLockdownLard - Another Lidl fan here - I go outside of 9-5 and its been absolutely fine, no queuing at all, and people trying nicely to avoid each other but not being mad about it. Today when I left at 9-ish a jolly security lady had just come on duty but seemed to be doing more chatting than snarling... Middle aisle is still there in all its glory.

Shodan · 24/06/2020 19:20

@NothingIsWrong Still??

Want me to come round and take him into the garden for some brisk sparring? I'll be gentle (if you want me to).

Seriously though. There is very little that is more infuriating than a self-righteous pompous man.

I divorced one Grin

SpnBaby1967 · 24/06/2020 19:25

Wow you guys can talk, I go do some work & you filled up 7 pages!

So wfh today was diabolical. Spent all day on multiple phone calls about just 2 cases (glad I use a headset so I dont iradiate my head with my mobile) which meant my KPI tested tasks were still outstanding at gone 5PM which means I got a "reminder" to clear them by a manager. So ended up working late.

It's really hot here, 28 degrees last time I checked and I keep trying to eat healthily but have failed every single day so far.

I went out for a CV test today because I have a persistent cough. 99.999% sure it's just hayfever playing up my asthma but the good citizen I am i thought I'd better test. Hoping I get the results quicker than the 17 days the last lot took!

Is anyone else finding that they just feel tired all the time these days. Irrelevant of sleep amounts? I've never been a great sleeper but whether I manage 4 hours or 10 hours I feel lethargic, sleepy and uninterested in anything.

psychomath · 24/06/2020 19:27

Your DH sounds well unreasonable Nothing. Is he annoyed about something else and taking it out on you?

Drivingdownthe101 · 24/06/2020 19:33

Yes. Fucking exhausted this week. I could sleep on the sofa right now (except I need to put my 6 and 4 year olds to bed, who are lying on the sofa next to me watching other people play Minecraft on YouTube... I will never see the appeal of watching other people play computer games).
I just feel so tired and so lethargic. It’s really hit me this week. I think I’m just tired of life. And lonely.

NothingIsWrong · 24/06/2020 19:37

@Shodan can I have the "not gentle" option please?

@psychomath he's just being a dick. I'll have done something else that has annoyed him, like loaded the dishwasher wrong or not put my shoes away correctly, or god forbid not made the bed so he's doing a special dose of grumpy just for me.

NothingIsWrong · 24/06/2020 19:37

I can't be bothered to work out why. It won't change anythjng

NothingIsWrong · 24/06/2020 19:38

Just debating spending £43 on fabric I don't need.

Puppylucky · 24/06/2020 19:39

I keep losing you Smile

NothingIsWrong · 24/06/2020 19:44

Gah. This fucking fucking piece of shit website full of shitty people determined to make everyone feel bad. There is a thread running about how there is now a strong chance we won't be back full time educating in September and I've just lost it. This is what will break me. I cannot CANNOT keep doing my job and keep my children safe and happy. It's not possible.

peaceanddove · 24/06/2020 19:45
@peaceanddove Insanely easy, we also got the Aeroccino (I don't think that's right) milk frother which is fantastic. Although you can't use any other capsules than Nespresso in them.
@AnxiousElephant Well on your head be it. I have just ordered one Grin

LivinLaVidaLoki · 24/06/2020 19:45

@NothingIsWrong
It wasn't mentioned in the briefing last night but yesterday Boris confirmed that summer childcare such as holiday clubs etc can open. The bbc ticker of doom only seemed to focus on grandparents providing childcare but holiday clubs etc can open now.

ADs too cool for air con?
torydeathdrug · 24/06/2020 19:49

@NothingIsWrong do it!

I just spent 70 quid in the H&M sale & errr ... some ... more on face cream & shit (tbf I haven't bought anything since February and was running out) ... I figured if I spent all my money on other stuff then I couldn't buy wine. Right now I would KILL for wine.

peaceanddove · 24/06/2020 19:49
@peaceanddove I bought a nespresso vertuo machine for £79 including 100 capsules. It's bloody great.
Too late I'm afraid. I have been seduced by the Nespresso. I am assuming it comes with George Clooney in the box too, obvs.

NothingIsWrong · 24/06/2020 19:50

The one I usually use has confirmed it's too late to organise opening this year. I'll try and find another one locally but they book up super quick. But obviously I shouldn't have had them if I wasn't willing to look after them, and I'm just selfish to have a career (that I love and am bloody good at).

NothingIsWrong · 24/06/2020 19:53

And you know what? I had two lovely compliments at work yesterday. One request from a service for some support in my area of expertise, they said another member of staff said I might be able to assist - apparently she told them I was "the most helpful member of staff she'd come across in the organisation". I need to lose that reputation PDQ, but it was nice to hear.

And a school I'm working with wanted reassurance that I would be managing the project as "we really trust that you will do the best for the school".

So there. I'm fucking awesome, bitches.

SeagoingSexpot · 24/06/2020 19:53

Is it still frowned upon to go to the shops more than once a week and for entirely non essential crap?

Who knows what Dementors frown on (other than any dangerous feelings of happiness) but I've been going to the shop whenever I bloody well feel like it for some weeks. Today I went to Lidl solely for ice cream, ice lollies, and sorbet. And I walked straight in, incidentally - there tends to be no queue at my local one other than on weekends.

torydeathdrug · 24/06/2020 19:54

oh @NothingIsWrong the people who says stuff like that on here aren't the normal people ... rl is so much better. I literally don't read any covid threads except the numbers ... because why? It's just people mouthing off about shit they know nothing about.

When it first started there was a very long thread of people posting definitively about What Was Happening and it was all bollocks. I knew because I know the person organising the thing they were discussing. Just sad angry people bigging themselves up with exaggerations & lies and getting off on making people feel shite. Flowers

torydeathdrug · 24/06/2020 20:00

^ not by me ... save the economy = save lives (I'm sacrificing my bank balance to do my part!).

I queued for the supermarket (lidl) twice at the very beginning that was literally the only time I've queued at all (dh had to wait to get into B&Q when it first opened but I think that was it).

I rarely even see a queue now (apart from the post office where there's always a queue pandemic or not).
