Mine seems to favour

“Smash this”

Makes me internally shudder everytime I see I written. And it’s wrote a lot

"Opening the kimono"

I hate it.

tinytemper66 · 21/06/2020 17:12

Sector leading 🙈

Cerealkillers · 21/06/2020 17:13

Can you ‘reach out’ to so & so ......

No I can contact them, what the buggery fuck is reaching out? I thought that term was used as a compassionate reason for getting in touch with someone not to pass on information at work. Drives me batshit!

Kokapetl · 21/06/2020 17:16

A previous boss used to use the phase "suck it and see" a lot, which I hated.

My current boss is quite old so sometimes uses words and phrases which now have different meanings. The worst is maybe "threesome" to describe our team of three (which happens to have two men and a woman).

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 21/06/2020 17:17

Getting lost in the operational weeds = thinking about the actually crucially important details

Doing the impossible = no, otherwise by definition we wouldn't be doing it

Wicked problem = it's a bit tricky

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 21/06/2020 17:19

Opening the kimono

Shock

Have never heard that but manages to be racist and misogynistic in 3 words!

(Win win, as you might say)

Bloops · 21/06/2020 17:19

Reading all these has made me feel ill

NataliaOsipova · 21/06/2020 17:19

what the buggery fuck is reaching out?

I hate this. So, so much. Everyone in my office is reaching out. Makes me want to scream.

HappyHammy · 21/06/2020 17:21

we're on it
let's smash this
ok peeps

dementedma · 21/06/2020 17:22

We do a lot of working in various "spaces"
Flash to bang
Leaning in
Forward leaning

CurbsideProphet · 21/06/2020 17:22

"Cascade"
As in, "cascade this to your contacts".

I absolutely hate "work speak". One of those worst things about having a job is having to put up with such nonsense.

cologne4711 · 21/06/2020 17:23

"talk to the slides"

yes this is a new one on me which I mentioned on another thread this morning.

Surely you are talking about the slides (or the information contained in them).

Also why is it a deck of slides, rather than a presentation?

cologne4711 · 21/06/2020 17:24

We do a lot of working in various "spaces

Yes. Hate that too. I use "area" or "sector".

Happymum12345 · 21/06/2020 17:30

mogloveseggs · 21/06/2020 17:33

@Tilpop

"Going forward"

I hate that one Angry

Me too! My ex boss and manager used to use it to wind me up! As if you'd go in any direction but forwards in business Confused
SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 21/06/2020 17:35

Ending most sentances, both spoken and written with 'indeed' Raaaaa

'Enhance' this 'Enhance, that.
'Enhancing' this 'Enhancing' that.
'Enhanced' this 'Enhance' that.
Raaaaa

HelloCanYouHearMe · 21/06/2020 18:01

"We are where we are"
"There is a 'piece' around that"

ClementineTangerine · 21/06/2020 18:05

I've never even heard of some of these before!

Opening the envelope?
Flying a kite here?
Opening the kimono!!??

Not many of these get used in my workplace but I guess we do say "moving forward" a lot and COB (call of business) quite often.
