Butter - disgusting greasy slime. And escalators - keep thinking I will fall off. Going up worse than coming down, I will actively avoid them

PrincessHoneysuckle · 06/06/2020 21:11

@Duffmcstockings Grin

Tubbyinthehottub · 06/06/2020 21:14

Those cupboards that are over the top of beds, above where your heads go. Nope!

TigerDroveAgain · 06/06/2020 21:14

Not me but DS when little used to loathe cars with round taillights - Ford in particular had them. Even now - he’s 18 - he’s not too sure about them Grin

Some, but not all, types of coat hooks. Most coat hooks are fine. Some, and I cannot tell you exactly why, seem expressly designed to hook a human eye out of its socket.

All of the following factors definitely contribute to eye-hook potential: hooks that stick straight out rather than curve up, being mounted low down, and being mounted on a door rather than a wall. But sometimes I come across a straight hook mounted low on a door and it's fine.

When I bite into a whole strawberry or grape I'm terrified that I'm going to see a wormor a wormhole greeting me on the other side Grin I have to cut them into halves or quarters! when I see bananas it makes me shudder thinking about tarantulas that were probably climbing all over them when they were growing 🤮

MrsJackRackham · 06/06/2020 21:17

@borntohula I've just looked it up. I certainly would not. I'll probably dream about heads rolling off everywhere now 🙁

1FootInTheRave · 06/06/2020 21:19

Long nails.

Don't find fake ones too bad but real ones knock me sick 🙈

Aerielview · 06/06/2020 21:20

Sharp kitchen knives

Tubbyinthehottub · 06/06/2020 21:21

I don't like cutlery where the handle is made from plastic/wood/whatever, it makes me feel peculiar that it's separate. And I feel uneasy if tiles are laid diagonally to the walls of a room. It's especially bad if the flooring also has a border and the worst is if it's in a kitchen. Feels so permanent. Thinking about it, built in furniture in general gives me the absolute willies. Unless it's a kitchen, that's ok so long as the floor is normal

frazzledmomof3 · 06/06/2020 21:25

Ice lolly sticks. They make my teeth chatter. Can't touch them. I wrap the paper around them

Namechange3007 · 06/06/2020 21:26

I just looked up trypophobia. I dont get it? Why is it disgusting?

TamTam25 · 06/06/2020 21:27

Vegetable peeler, intrusive thoughts of peeling my hands/arms every time I use it. I sometimes just use a knife to avoid the thoughts.

OhTheRoses · 06/06/2020 21:28

@SparkLee can there be anything wprse than finding a maggot in your apple?

ThisAintNoPartyThisAintNoDisco · 06/06/2020 21:29

Potatoes that have gone all sprouted with long cold white fingers. They grow in the dark... oh the horror 😫

ScrapThatThen · 06/06/2020 21:29

I get intrusive thoughts about the hand blender too.

missmouse101 · 06/06/2020 21:32

Foam as in the material, like on chairs etc. I can't stand it. Barbour jackets. All smelly, filthy and horribly heavy. Velvet-eek! Birds in cages. Those plastic plasters. Much prefer fabric ones.

Jellykat · 06/06/2020 21:33

OhTheRoses, Yes - half a maggot!

Iwouldbecomplex · 06/06/2020 21:34

Multi story car parks. Especially the ones that have the exit ramps going down the side of buildings. Like the Ikea in manchester. It feels very very wrong for my car to be anywhere but ground level and I can feel my heart rate going up when I'm in one.

Vulgarlady · 06/06/2020 21:36

Angle poise lamps, they look predatory

Furniture with big wheels or castors

Anything with wheels that Is upside down or on its side. . DH has a stand that he tinkers with his bike on. I hate it, especially if it’s up high. Ugh

TodayIHaveGotThis · 06/06/2020 21:37

Buttons. Nasty, nasty buttons.

SisterVanHelsing · 06/06/2020 21:39

As a child I had an aversion to the safety kitemark. I still get a weird feeling when I look at it. I also hated those pointy-ended toggles you can get on some coats.

JoesExotic · 06/06/2020 21:41

I'm the same about multi storey carparks. I'm convinced they're going to collapse like an accordion & squash me like a playing card. I think it's due to the low ceiling & poor lighting.

SecondStarFromTheRight · 06/06/2020 21:42

Ceiling fans make me nervous. I don't like being near them.

ShredMeJillianIWantToBeNatalie · 06/06/2020 21:43

When you peel the foil lid off a yoghurt and it tears.....then people lick the yoghurt off it. Yuck. I’m also creeped out by scaffolding.
