One newspaper report about the rape for which he has just been convicted said it came about because a (criminal?) associate nicked his video camera which contained footage of the attack and another
There are reports which say his offending is unusual, because there is no distinct preferred age/type.
There are reports of a number of crimes, but that does not seem to match the published list of known convictions.
So it does seem as if there is a considerable amount known about his offending that is not public.
I was wondering if the latest police plea is anything to do with the conclusion of the rape trial, meaning the police are now investigating actively what else was on that video camera. If there is another (adult) victim, maybe the wording about him being safely banged up is to embolden her to come forward.
And, sadly, if there is information known to the police from other child victim/s perhaps that is why the German police believe that MM is dead and how her death came about based on pattern of crime when the victim is young. It seems there is a gap between what they know and what they can prove.
And I hope it can be bridged, one way or the other. For I hope the McCanns find closure, but I wouid not want to see the wrong criminal convicted if the facts cannot be established beyond reasonable doubt
